I don't understand why people don't use their pools! If I had a pool, I'd use it EVERY day!....except the winter because COLD!
I'd put a pool in under a greenhouse with accordion doors all around so I could use it all year. And salt water pool. 😊
I want followup vids 1-3 years down the line so much.
"They have just increase the value of their home by taking the swimming pool out"....those words would never be spoken here in sunny South Florida. Mostly all my neighbors have pools and love it.
My cousin friend has a pool that she never uses anymore but she refuse to get rid of it. She says she enjoys just looking at it when she sits out in her backyard and just by looking at the water itself it's very therapeutic and relaxes her.
I keep thinking about the rain they should have sheltered the barbecue and seating area
Honestly, your arbors drag down your designs. If you are going to the trouble of putting them up, why not make them with more style?

Nope. Even the parents said it is a grown up yard because they (the adults) grew up. This is a nice yard for empty nester.
These gardens are gorgeous 😍 however I can't help but feel a little sad that the kiddos don't have any grass to play in.
Ya, they could do a patch of groundcover like moss so their child has a soft place to play.. All stone is too much for me.

I wish I could see the plants all grown up to their mature state and how it would have looked in one year or so.

Yeah, I'm surprised they don't even consider her into the design. They could at least put in a swing.
My guess is that she plays at daycare and there's a nearby park. If they work long hours she probably eats, bathes and goes to sleep. They can always add plastic play structures and kiddie pool. Put a fort under the deck?
Your designs can be innovative and very cool. But the continual use of a square nude pergola and certain plants is already quite redundant for me just watching the videos. BTW, the designer that chooses accessories lacks skill and experience. Her choices are painfully redundant and void of any client taste study. Just saying. I have spent a lifetime designing. I am watching you for motivation for my current oregon 45 degree slope yard project.
I like most of your landscape remodels, though arbors/pergolas/rooms are nothing special. It would be good to know the costs for each reno.
Every rainstorm, grab those cushions, pillows and take the drapes down or you’ll have one giant mildew farm. And mildew looks so great on white canvas. And formal dining outdoors?
Fortunately these are so heavily mildew resistant that it's not a concern. They're designed with that specifically in mind, so no staining, now growth, little to no sunbleaching, anything noticeable won't happen for 5-10 years down the line (seen in humid climates, ocean front, and desert climates, they refuse to be affected.)
You'll notice wear and tear long before (friction and fray from being touched).
@@mrboxy3970 Unfortunately, mildew 'resistant' is not mildew proof. Sunbrella and wannabes might not fade but they will mildew, and if left in the rain they make a mighty soggy sit.
The guys were fun and the design was pretty incredible. Except I question the birch tree planted so close to the deck. That will be a problem down the road. Side note, the little girl was precious.

The eating area feels cramped. Yucky coffee table. Like the plantings against the deck wall.
A flowering tree would have been much prettier next to the deck.
Now all they need is a sand box, slide, wading pool, tricycle, and a pile of toys...

I feel sorry for the kid and her now missing killer whale floating. Usually I love their yards but the parents didn't even put in a replacement play area for their own child. She gets to sit on the white cushions and be sure to not get them dirty.

Enough with the intrusive 'background' music! Especially the drum track. Not overly impressed with this garden tbh. Fine for a childless couple, and definitely prohibitive for anyone with mobility issues. Ok, great that the failing retaining wall was remedied and the stone paving was impressive, but the team has got to get more creative with the arbours/pergolas/gazebos. And Lisa the 'designer', lol. Those white seat cushions, they may well be mold resistant but that doesn't mean mold proof! They're going to need covering with waterproof tarps each time there's rainfall. Back to design school, sweetie.
How can white be 'fade-proof'?
I enjoy the show but could do without all the childish male genitalia jokes. Kennedy, you have class. Get your boys in line.

this is such a timeless backyard compared to some other ones they've done. Lisa really stepped up. I remember the comment section ripping her for the orange plastic "drums" lol XD i'm dying just typing this. but yeah. this was very Noice!
I'm 2/3 thru this video. I repeatedly see a 2 yr old thru the glass doors.
I haven't seen a single moment by the staff or the parents if building a backyard that also caters to the child.

I am a little surprised as well, not even a kiddie area for her to garden. But I think the parents were providing the direction and at least it’s safer now.
They removed the pool cuz "we have a young family" yet there is nothing for kids in the after.
And since when did removing a pool, that's not damaged, increase value? That pool took up such a small footprint and they ended up with that? What a waste! BORING!! Oh and what happened to the whole young family concept? I see nothing but stairs for young kids to fall down and stone surfaces to fall on. Bet the kids miss the pool...

Some might see the pool as a danger for a wee one. I might have just moved to a house with a safer or more child friendly yard and saved the big landscaping expense.
Hope there is storage under that deck for all that furniture. Looks awesome.

I love the drapes! They're semi-sheer so they soften the very square angles of the structure and the whole garden.
Huge undertaking. They did a fabulous job. I absolutely love it and the guy’s interactions makes for a fun watch.
James like to take others work and and words and phrases and pretend like he had saif that all along or from the begining. He gets buy with his crude jokes and his collegue laugh so that what makes him acceptable to the herd. Yet not impressive. Very narcissistic.

What fabric do you use for curtains to withstand outdoor use?
There really isn't any (natural) fabric which can withstand continuous outdoor use. Lisa the 'designer' says the fabrics are all resistant to mold .... which doesn't mean mold proof. The home owners are going to find themselves up and down a ladder whenever there's rainfall.

From the comments this seems to be a beginning episode, where everyone is learning how to make nice areas and have not quite made it.
This reminds me of the History Channel's American Restoration show or the Counting Cars show where it gradually became less about restoring antique items/cars & history & became more about being silly.
It's almost like you can hear the producers goin', "Look guys,..can ya make it a little more goofy,..we need wild, zany, screwball stuff,...THAT'S what the people want,....and we'll try & fit the landscaping design stuff around it."
