Did you check the scan vs physical part to see how accurate the scan is?

This is a bit of a long shot but do you think you would consider allowing people to hire the scanner from you ? (UK based)
I can't afford go buy the otter outright and want to experiment with a couple of hobby ideas 😆
It was a great video showcasing the product. 👍

Thanks for watching. I haven’t really thought about hiring but it’s a good idea. If I get another to use, I might consider hiring out this one.

I have the Ferret Pro and am asking myself if I should go with the Otter or Raptor. I scan small to large objects (humans furniture products) for interior industrial design and work mobile a lot.

I haven’t tried the Raptor but I’m sure I read somewhere that it’s better for smaller scans than the Otter.

Hello, will this work with CrealityScan V2.2.12? My Otter is not recognized by my phone(Xiaomi 14T Pro)
I tried downgrading the firmware etc. but it didn't work... The FAQ of the app says that CrealityScan will not accept the connection because the Otter and Raptor series consume a lot of power

Hey thanks for the review, very helpful. I purchased an Otter and trying to get the IPhone bridge to work with 3.3.4, I even tried hooking up my new IPad Pro. But so far no cigar. Did you try it yet ?

Sorry, I haven’t tried it with the phone yet but will comment on here if/when I do 👍🏻

When I export there are only two options on a Mac. Do you show 4 on yours on being an STL file type?

Hi Steven. I hadn't looked at this yet as I don't have a 3D printer. It looks like the options I have on Windows and Mac are the same. PLY, STL and OBJ.

@@DartsideScenics I have got a few 3D printers, two creality ender 3's that I don't use now as I got an Adventurer M5 which I got for £250 from their website which was a good price, the printer is fast and very easy to use, unlike the creality types which takes some time setting up, then I got the scanner for something else and also got an Ellegoo Neptune max for doing full sized heads for a project I am working on. I think the scanner and the more up-to-date printers really make the possibilities of creating something that can be used by others an incredible opportunity for commercial and hobby shenanigans. I would recommend the Adventurer M5 as a great starting point for quick, easy and reliable prints.
I printed a full sized head scn on the ellegoo that took a few days and 1.2 reels of filament as the head was simply filled in, but I had also used blender to smooth out the surfaces of the scan which worked out quite amazingly. I'll be using the idea to print a new dummy head microphone design, then cover the prints in a very thin coat of rubber, then to cast it, and then use the mother mould for making fibreglass heads, with luck, I can't believe that there is this technology that is so easy to get to enable laymen folk to have wonderful opportunities to do so much with their computers these days, its amazing really.
Thanks for the video, I was unaware of the merge facility!

Thanks for this information - I'm very new to this so it's very useful to have recommendations. I agree that it's amazing what you can create at home with the technology available.
