Now that's a big gearbox!!! I listened in horror to someone a couple of weeks back intending to remove their gearbox from underneath by lowering it on to their chest and then moving it to the side!!!! Thankfully they were talking about a Micra, not an RS6. So he should still be alive!!
BTW, for the engine and gearbox removal video referenced in this vid... The engine removal video was a beast of a filming session. When you have to film each part of a process it essentially takes 3-4 times longer than just cracking on and doing the job, so the removal took literally several days to film. Likewise, there's a LOT of editing to be done there!! We are currently working on the launch of our own website (totaltechnik.com) now that TH-cam has ended it's paid content service (on all of TH-cam, not just our channel), this will allow us to offer the in-depth specialist stuff like engine removals which will be able to be purchased via our website once live. We're hoping that the website will be launched late May 2018, so not too far away. Hopefully the BCY (RS6) engine removal video should not be too far behind :-) Thank you for your support! --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Please ensure you subscribe to our TH-cam channel. 2) Please give our video's the Thumbs Up on TH-cam. 3) Please help spread the word, the more people who know about us the better! I've heard the RS6 engine can be too much for the torque converters on these transmissions at stock. Do you guys recommend doing upgraded converters to handle the power?
Yes, the RS6 can have serious gearbox issues, and expensive too. Regular fluid change is pretty much essential on the RS6 (C5). --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! I have a problem with my transmission. It was slipping from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd before. Now we have rebuilt the transmission and pulled engine for a small rebuilt. We have put everything back together, the gearbox is still slipping from 1st to 2nd. www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/autotrans.html I am just wondering if this will help solve the problem?
It may well, and definitely worth a try in your case. What a pain, these things do happen and cause headaches. Hopefully the gearbox recon was done properly. Is you car an RS6? I have seen badly reconditioned ones (i.e. cheapest available usually) throw similar problems. Be sure to post back when solved to share with others here. --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! @@TotalTechnik yes, it is a c5 rs6, the transmission guy said it maybe caused by the chipped ecu, and advise me to get back a normal ecu to adapt, however, it is quite hard to revert it....
