This is my 3rd year gardening for Guinea pigs and I didn't have to buy any veggies between spring and fall last year...it was glorious. You can very easily and inexpensively grow lettuce from seed, you may want to do that and replant every few weeks so you have a continual harvest during summer when its too hot and it bolts quickly. You may also want to consider planting some flowers near them (like marigolds) to discourage bugs and attract pollinators. I plan to start a TH-cam channel all about gardening for Guinea pigs (and other things related) one of these days lol
I bet you could make a hoop out of pvc and cover with screen or mesh. I would just build a little 18 to 24 inch fence around the edges and see if that helps.
@@skcjanelle9061 we have groundhogs and squirrels so I need something to actually keep them out. We're planning to build hoops on frames with chicken wire over them.

i buy lettuce and lots of vegetable and flower seeds from dollar tree and start lettuce seeds every month ish for continuous lettuce harvest

We had marigolds last year and something ate them immediately lol once I get the covers built I'm hoping we don't have as many issues. 😅

I’ve thought of doing this for our piggies. It’s so expensive now and lately the veggie rim the store haven’t been looking too great.
