True. A lot will say it's only for active duty, but it's open for veterans in general. One of the few that is only for active duty is for having credit card annual fees waived, which is great if you like Amex cards.
@MegaRamos85 sometimes they ask and sometimes they don't. If you have an old military ID it should work about 90% of the time. Or if you use ID.me, you can get a lot of discounts online as well that aren't just for active duty, but for vets as well.
For 100% disabled veterans, I know one travel benefit you get in many airports is 30 consecutive days of free parking. May not seem like a lot but can be save you quite a bit. I checked if there's USO access but apparently not. Priority boarding may also be an option as, sometimes flights will announce it and some don't. If it looks enough like a CAC, def worth a shot at these last two options.
Good question! It used to be that veterans who were fully out, there was a discount you could get for TSA precheck. Might still exist for disabled veterans for free altogether (if not I think they should be). Otherwise, only those still in or are in the IRR are the only ones who still get it free. However, even those don't have Global Entry, so you'd have to get that separately. Plenty of good cards that will reimburse that though 😎
Brilliant content mate! I'm a British Veteran, and I love a discount! Haha Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. What do/did you do in the Military? If you don't mind my asking, but do you use Instagram? Be good to see some content on there, if you use it. Got yourself another subscriber! ❤️ From the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you for your allied service! Haha good, discounts make everything taste better! I was military police, but the last 1.5 year was communications. Overall, good experience and met a lot of cool people. Thank you, I will def continue making content, hopefully you enjoy it! Mine is @germananditravels, although I don't use it much but maybe as the channel grows I might post stuff on both.
I got exited. I read veteran in the title. When the discounts I have been seeing is for active duty.

Don’t they want to see active duty military ID when you check in?

What about disabled veterans and their dependents with DOD issued ID card due to 100% P&T?
