I have always preferred Venom's ending in the game rather than the comics. In the game, Venom has a full character arc and has a satisfying conclusion. In the comics, however, his story ends on a cliff hanger. I still don't know if Eddie is alive or dead in the comic.

It makes sense Venom didn't have the white spider in the beginning because he got the suit from a seperate sample not from the one peter had. When he abosorbed Peter he absored the suit fragments from when peter wore it causing Eddie to gain the white Spider. Really disappointed me too when he didn't get the white spider at the end of the story.
I wish Ultimate Spider-Man had got a sequel and it would have been interesting to see what direction the game creators and Brian Michael Bendis would have gone in a game sequel would they had continue to follow more closely to the comics or would they have gone in a whole new direction
The ULTIMATE Spider-Man video game would've gotten a sequel where he fights Ultimate Green Goblin. The Sequel will align elements from Vol 4: Legacy, Vol 8- Ultimate Six, and Vol 19- Death of a Goblin. The Sequel would've included several bosses such as Ultimate Doc Ock, Ultimate Sandman, Ultimate Kingpin, and Ultimate Hobgoblin. There would also be some cutscenes where Spider-Man teams up with the Ultimates.
This actually got made, kind of. "Spider-Man: Battle for New York" for the GBA and DS is supposed to be in based on the Ultimate comics, and features the Goblin, in his Ultimate design, as both the main villain and as a playable character, like Venom is in the Ultimate Spider-Man game. However, the only major villain I remember being there aside from Goblin is Kingpin, and the game makes it clear that its Spidey's first time fighting the Goblin, so if anything, you could see "Battle for New York" as a prequel to Ultimate.
I kinda wish someone would try to make an ultimate spider man sequel fan game. I mean, you pretty much got all the assets with ultimate spider man with some minor tweaking you could make a high quality fan project in unity engine
Even worse about the comic, neither the Venom symbiote nor Eddie ever interact with Peter again. The symbiote comes back to fuck with Miles Morales, but the whole Latveria subplot is never mentioned again.
On a side note: I absolutely adore how the team behind this game made the cutscenes work. How they did the moving comic book panels and effects and stuff. It’s so damn cool. Are there any tutorials online or something to edit a video to have comic book effects like that? I’ve been wanting to replicate it.
What sucks too is that apparently the suit ended up in the hands of The Maker, the Ultimate Reed Richards who became evil after Ultimatum. He got the suit used to transport himself to 1610, which is in complete ruins, and nothing happens after that because Ultimate Invasion happened.
@@genises200 sorta it was all in Donny Cates’ run of Venom, where the Maker in an effort to join the council of reeds tried to go back to 1610 with the suit. When he did NYC is in ruins and all the heroes including Ultimate Spidey are nowhere to be found, which leads into Ultimate Invasion where the Maker makes his own version of 1610 with a preexisting universe, 6160. Edit: I should also point out that Ultimate Invasion was supposed to be a sequel to Cates’ run on Venom, but due to a horrible car crash, Cates was forced to step away from the project with Jonathan Hickman taking over and going in a different direction

That’s what the MTV 3D animated Spider-Man tv show was originally supposed to be, but then the Raimi film came out, and then they decided ”Nah, let’s make it closer to that”
The comic is classic Bendis writing. I think the constraints of the game lead to a more cohesive narrative with better payoffs since it was possible it would reach a wider audience who didn't follow the comics. Bendis is famous for being a man with endless ideas about characters, but never implementing them well. His stories always take strange heel-turns, his characters flip-flop to suit the plot too often, and his stories bloat up to where the themes get lost in the spectacle (all this is not even getting into his infamous dialogue style). Because he became such a critical part of Marvel's creative team after the success of the Ultimate universe he kept being given more and more responsibility and basically ran the writing staff from 2004-2010. So it was hard to tell the guy he needed to focus. I haven't read any of his stuff since Age of Heroes in 2011 (I've heard that the first few Miles Morales storylines he did are rough in retrospect), so maybe since leaving Marvel he's fixed some of his worse tendencies.
Yeah I remember enjoying this game especially the boss fights and soundtracks, yes I was confused on Beetle and Green Goblin part like there was a scene that Beetle has a vial on the Sandman and that was never brought up again and as for the Green goblin he was a minor villain just like into the Spider verse where he was a henchman of the Kingpin and nobody complained about that except as he is supposed to be Spider-Man’s greatest enemy and he always wants to be number one. But which do you prefer Green goblin to be a man in a mask or a monster because if you know what an actual goblin is supposed? The only time that he got the white symbol is in the Ultimates vol 3 and that was only a robot if you read that and this story moves on to Ultimatum, we never knew what happened to Eddie after being taken by the Beetle as we got a new Venom in Miles Morales comics who did killed his mother. You know I could never get in Eddie’s head because this version wanted to kill Peter because he used the thing earlier while in the main universe it was all about a miscalculation on a report on the Sin Eater case which that’s definitely out of Spider-Man’s hands. This reminds me who would you prefer to be Venom Eddie Brock or Harry Osborn because he seems to be for the PS4 video game sequel and they do seem very similar in every possible way? Also what do you think about Spider-Man:Spider’s shadow and in the Extreme Venomverse issue 5 there it ties up a loose end.
Paul Dini wrote the first two Arkham games and was a principal writer on the BTAS, which the Arkham games are heavily inspired by. Pretty much the only example even close to what this game has goin on

To me, the loss of Mark Bagley really harms the feeling of authenticity that the later ultimate Spider-Man comics have. Bagley’s art defined Ultimate for me, with the game only cementing that feeling. It’s a shame he was dropped from the book so unceremoniously.

And all ti does is pursue Miles to the hosptial where his mom works only to have her killed. that's it. All it does is chase afer miles, look at his mom, kill her and then Shield shows up to chase him off. and AFAIK, venom never came back until they merged the universes.

Maybe not as bizarre as my version. For anyone who knows "Evangelion", in my version, the symbiotes are corrupted LCL life forms born from the absence of humans who left Instrumentality, but were unable to cope with such absence. Because the Spider serves as a reality totem, Venom's initial goal is to search for Asuka and Shinji (who were taken away from their home reality to witness a universe filled with actual heroes in an attempt at healing), and consume them. But as you can imagine by the other symbiotes, plans evolve a little.
The ultimate comics were really just fanfiction with crazy twists. I liked some of the new interpretations of heroes/villains, but the stories were shit.
The story was much better done in the game than in the comics. The game is what made me interested in Ultimate Spider-Man, the comics were mostly underwhelming to me.

That's probably disappointing if you're attached to any other version of the character, but I feel that the original Ultimate Venom arc is peak Bendis and any change to or extension of that original ending would be disappointing personally lol
So in regards to Gwen coming out of nowhere, she doesn't. In the Ultimate universe's take on the Clone Saga Peter Parker finds Gwen Stacy in her old home with no memories of how she got there or how she's alive again. Eventually Nick Fury arrives along side with the Fantastic Four and a battalion of Spider-Slayers to apprehend Peter and in all that commotion, Gwen transforms into Carnage until she is defeated. The War of The Symbiotes essentially ends her time as Carnage and she would live the rest of her days as human again.
I’ve never played Ultimate Spider-Man, but I have watched the walkthroughs and cutscenes. So yeah, the game is superior than when it was adapted for the comics.
Tbh Topher Grace from Spiderman 3 always kind of resembled quite well to me the Eddie Brock in the ultimate universe. Think that was the version they were going for, the final Venom design however was a big L
Sam Raimi said that he didn't understand Venom's character in Spider-Man. He didn't even want to use Venom, that was an executive decision. Venom doesn't even refer to himself as "We" in that movie.

Brock/Venom is just better written and more of a badass in the game. He just comes across as a kinda weak loser in the comic who always gets his ass beaten.
In the comics eddie is just a creepy incel 😭, while atleast in the game I like to think the alternate version is just a sociopath and they retoconned the gwen thing

Good art design and cell shading will always do that. If your game is interesting to look at then your technical limitations aren’t a problem

Eventually Nick Fury arrives along side with the Fantastic Four and a battalion of Spider-Slayers to apprehend Peter and in all that commotion, Gwen transforms into Carnage until she is defeated. The War of The Symbiotes essentially ends her time as Carnage and she would live the rest of her days as human again.
I’ve never played Ultimate Spider-Man, but I have watched the walkthroughs and cutscenes. So yeah, the game is superior than when it was adapted for the comics.

Sam Raimi said that he didn't understand Venom's character in Spider-Man. He didn't even want to use Venom, that was an executive decision. Venom doesn't even refer to himself as "We" in that movie.

Brock/Venom is just better written and more of a badass in the game. He just comes across as a kinda weak loser in the comic who always gets his ass beaten.
In the comics eddie is just a creepy incel 😭, while atleast in the game I like to think the alternate version is just a sociopath and they retoconned the gwen thing
