Such an inspiring story. Love your positive attitude - you are a great example to others and role model to your children. You deserve every success with your business.
That is such a lovely comment. It was so scary going from full time (guaranteed) work, to working for myself. But I hope I can make a success of it all. Thank you
@@gdson2378 hi, I am a sales marketer I can get you 10-15 customers a day consistent through the week that want their rubbish removed. I can target any city in the UK.. that you want. I will only charge £10 per customer no matter how much they'll pay. I call around 400-500 business a day.
I have been doing scrap and waste since April this year. (Not very well to be honest) This is such great advice, thank you for putting this up. I have subscribed to you now... great work.
Used to work with the local Rag and bone man so I kinda know some of this stuff but handy for other's to know. He had all liecences he passed away there in Nov. He was second generation Travelling man had 3 truck's. He used to pay well then he was always busy under charging the council. Had a beavertail for car's as well. But did see thing's take a dive when Covid hit. All the best for the New year pal
Great vid mate..in the process of just setting up in east london(plenty rubbish here😂)goner get sprinter tipper as easier to tip out than lift..plenty outlay to start but im determined to make it work..
It was mad watching this video I was a bus driver for 8 years to be honest I never enjoyed it so living in a seaside town I started off doing removals then got a second van for waste and scrap the prices of scrap where a lot lower though £80 per tonne. I used to test all the washers and was shocked how many worked or was a free fix I used to bang them out at £70 delivered and plumbed in for £10 if they needed it. It was heavy work and I thought about my future so ended up training to be a driving instructor to eventually build up a business but I ended up teaching this one lad and his dad seemed to know everyone and I became really busy really quick and now do that full time. The downside of the pandemic is it’s stopped me working and I have no vans now really enjoying the videos you seem to smash it stay safe mate and I wish you well for the future 👍
There is definitely good money in it when I became an instructor my training wasn’t cheap and my car was only 3 year old but I managed to start debt free. Sometimes the odd free house clearances will be your biggest earners also. I contacted estate agents and advertised on private landlords Facebook pages etc there is a killing to be made
Thanks for the comment mate. I hope you can get back out earing soon pal. Yea, I managed to start up relatively easy. I already had the van (thanks to my dad) so that was the main part. I loved the people I worked with at the bus company, But with shift patterns ect it just drove me crazy. What sea side town did you drive busses in if you don't mind me asking.
Very good Video, enjoyed. Like to see example, factual, say quote, price /profit / loss factual based on job and what the disposal costs are out there. Thanks
Get friendly with every trade possible, even if it’s just a drive by with a wave while they are working up scaffolding , you’ll be surprised, specially if your contact details on van ,
Good video good luck with the business fella, have you thought about adding window cleaning it’s repeat money every month they don’t charge peanuts anymore now there all on the water fed pole system ares charge 20 quid there in and out in 10-15 mins 100quid a hour good money
Your channel and videos are superb!!! I need a side income on the weekends through being financially screwed following this pandemic and thought i could start off small with a little van, although it is a worry about trying to manage on my own as i doubt customers would like me dismantling furniture on site, so i can lift it all 😂
Much the same way as I work out my price to uplift waste, we get loads of other guys who all try to guarantee to be the cheapest but most of them go tits up after a couple of months because they can’t afford to pay their waste bill. I always try to keep my price reasonable for the costumer but enough to cover all of my expenses and a bit on top.
Ive just seen this. Absolutely golden for me as I am setting up my own business in London. I am at square one and this video is a perfect summary of key business tips. What van do you recommend?
Hi Thanks for the Video...! I'm still confused by where we will throw peoples junk ? I mean what is the best place to recycle ? Also can we hire a multi skips and storage all junks ? is it possible ? Thanks
Great video. 👍 A lot of people don't want to go into where they get rid of the waste. I'm a gardener who wants to get into the waste business over the winter months, i know to take some waste to transfer stations but how do you tip it? Is it all mixed or do you have to sort the waste. I'd really appreciate the advice. Cheers
You can take in a mix load but this will cost more. if you had for example all green waste, some places may take for a cheaper price. It would depend on the yard in question
Hey love the videos, bit late but I’m looking into starting a waste business, but have a full time job. Is it something that is feasible to do on the weekend. Thank you
I have a really good payed job ..just turned 59 couple of days ago ..my job is very physical ..im thinkin of a van and doin this kinda thing ..do you think i cud make even an average wage ..i earn massive money now but wanna be free and not work for the man ...i wanna work for me ..
Good honest hard work, the backbone that the country is built on. Good for you matey.
Thanks for that. Very kind of you to say. God bless you

Mistakes are a good learning experience, I now refuse to do earth and soil removal, it’s back breaking and soon gets heavy especially if it’s wet!
You not wrong mate. I hate soil, Don't usually deal with it unless it's worth a fair bit of cash
Thinking of getting it to this myself good video bud 👍
Cheers bro, good luck with it

I prefer soil and hand core I set up a waste removal side to my building company just over a year ago I find it hard being vat registered
Yea we don't qualify to be VAT registered. I imaging its hard making the change

Great video. Very informative
great video, great information - thanks very much for sharing
what waste centers do you go to to tip the waste around Kent ?
Much the same way as I work out my price to uplift waste, we get loads of other guys who all try to guarantee to be the cheapest but most of them go tits up after a couple of months because they can’t afford to pay their waste bill. Hi

Waste transfer stations. If you have room for skips ect that is always an option

Ok any legal documents required?
