The EZAG is in normal tuning and I'm playing this through a soft synth on my PC (via midi cable). The sound is turned off on the EZAG and the soft synth is getting a midi signal on channels 1-6 (one for each string). I just altered the pitch on channels 1,2,6 on the soft synth down by two semitones to get DADGAD and set the sound on channels 1-4 as electric piano and channels 5,6 as bass guitar - เพลง

Unfortunately, Mark passed away in 2009 - Massive respect goes out to this guy. A great artist. And this idea was truly a great idea.

I can remember listening to this YEARS ago, it just randomly came up in my suggestions. Hearing this makes me sad - may he rest in peace.
I really hope the tabs or sheets are preserved somewhere - I agree it was a great idea.

Now this is very nice - a great way of exploiting the features and approach to this type of instrument I think - rather than approaching it as a true guitar. Piano stylings with guitar voicings and fingerstyle. Now this is tempting for composition. Beautiful song...

super playing , u really got amazing feel, n m surprised how the EZ captures it in midi.. if Yamaha made some small changes the EZ would be the best Midi gtr in the world 4 capturing feel.. i have one...

I just want to clear, could I use this to control VST instruments on my in my computer? I want to be able to control orchestral and choral sounds. Can i do that or am i restrcited to the sounds on the the actually guitar?
to use with a softsynth, which guitar would you recommend the dg-20 or the ez-ag?...its wonderful...
The 10 frets aren't such a big deal. Remember, this is a midi controller, so you have octave select. You can play this instrument higher than a real guitar, or lower than a bass.
Yamaha undermarketed the eg series. All of those kids playing guitar hero could be playing eg guitars and actually learning something.
quick question about that guitar. is it capable of handling more advanced techniques
like speed picking or sweep picking , pretty much im wondering if u can shred on one of those

Yep. It has MIDI out, so you can control VSTs. That's what's actually done in this video. (Says so in the description...)
