@@samorozco2002 Ryo was always strong in AOF and Kof though. He is in the same tier of Terry, who also belong to the mid tier of physical build in Snk games. Robert was originally designed that way (probably inspired by Ken, born as a literal Ryu clone) but then became slightly thinner, just to be different.
But the point is that both were never in lower tiers of physical build. They are early 90s fg mc's after all, who are buff like everybody else made in that time (talking about relevant chars).

Yeah in the last few I've been waiting to see what the character says at the end because I really like the characterisation, so I actually preferred that to the "Shatter all expectations" VO. It's appropriate though, with the double reveal and teaming up with King for the first time in so long, and I love that :)

This is looking great so far! I love how they're not really messing with any of the characters designs, themes, or gameplay and keeping them relatively the same with improvements! Capcom could really learn something from SNK.

I was kinda hoping that they'd bring Ryo back with his idle stance that he had around 98, I just think it was more unique looking and pretty cool. But I totally get why they would keep to the original AoF stance as a kind of homage to his roots so that's cool too :)
I definitely like the kof stance it makes him look more interesting then a typical shoto stance, that stance is actually why I picked him the first time and now I play Ryo all the time. I'd like them to tone down the muscles though

Ryo and Robert still are my favorite fighting characters. I played them when I was 5 year old and I mostly liked Ryo since he resembled Goku in a way. Here, Ryo looks way more buff and serious, maybe tone then down. Robert looks nice :)

Man, the sound of "The Kyokugenryu Punch" (just like when Ryo and Roberto got revealed) as I like to call it is probably the best sound effect I've ever heard in a fighting game.
Right up there with Strider's *shing*
Yeah, in my mind KoF 94/95 had the best sounds and voices of any game EVER. And the Zanretsuken ender is the probably best of all.
I am pleased to see that Ryo's Ko'ou Ken is long-range, a nice return to the origins of the fighting technique.
Of course, the muscle gap between the tiger and the dragon has widened dramatically.
Still short range. You have to meter burn to get it to go full screen.

@Flameoffx24 Yes, this explanation makes sense, but it's still a step up from the short-range move. This variation in Ryo's fighting techniques introduced by KOF compared to the classic one has never convinced me. In Kof 98 it was also possible to unlock AOF-style moves, will they do it again?

I love hearing those Art of Fighting sound effects. It reminds me of playing the SNES version of Art of Fighting as a kid. I remember all the angry arguing from picking Mr. Big with his sticks.

Well, if I remember correctly he had this punch at 00:52 in older games, 98 or something around that, might be wrong, but I know that he had this move before.

@@Next-xm2dh I'm not talking about his Climax, he also had this Super in older games, but the special at 0:52 already exists, for example in KOF01, KOF00 or something similar in '98 where he does it with his elbow.

The '96 - '98 move in which he hits the opponent with his elbow called MoKo RaiJin Go. It can be combo'ed from normal, can be used in combo to hit the juggled opponent, doesn't knockdown unless you use the follow-up Koho.
The '99 - XI one in which he faces backward then punches forward with a little sliding is Koho ShippuKen, can't be combo'ed from normal (because the startup time takes too much time), Light version doesn't knockdown while the Heavy version knockdown in some game, and it's super cancel-able.
The '96 - XI super is Tenchi Hao Ken, it's the predecessor of his current climax, Shin Tenchi Hao Ken.
This move looks like it will use some elements from those moves. It can absorb a hit with guard point like those moves, can be combo'ed from hard normal like MoKo moves and super cancel-able like Koho ShippuKen.
Or just straight up Ryu's VSkill II.

@@daymonharris8696 It's Gameplay that shows you they have Character, it's not the Prologues and Endings that show's you the Character.
Edit: Ryo for Example is always Serious when he's in a Fighting Tournament, it's the True Character that's in the Gameplay, the Endings always made him out of Character and treated him like a Goofball throughout the Years.
