- This presentation, made to high school students of the Oaks Classical Christian Academy during their 'History Emphasis Week,' highlights the impact in England of the life of John Wesley and the Great Awakening, as contrasted with the course of events in France prior to the French Revolution.

Jonathan Edward is my cousin, the grandson of Rev Solomon Stoddard. Solomon began several "harvests" followed my Jonathan's similar but larger revivals that brought many members to the Northampton Mass Church. This led to The Great Awakening. Indeed, the increasingly Godless world needs a New Great Awakening. Thank you for this epic presentation on John Wesley. I travel to Savannah next week and hope to visit the Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church.

What I take away from this is that John Westly facilitated common grace , not a saving grace. He had to use semi- pelagianism to bring in the large numbers needed. The narrow way gospel was not going to do it.
The gospel is mostly a hardening ministry , and instead of being like Isaiah or Ezekiel ; Westly had to bring in the reprobate via another gospel. It worked , but eventually, it led to Finnyism , Asuza street, crackpottery of all kinds . Even Billy Grahm's crusades with Catholics and Mormons - and Billy Grahm becoming apostate

There is a awesome video about The White slaves of the English Industrial Revolution on youtube. In London they have a Library of writings from the children that were sold into slavery basically and survived to tell the tales and they are a tell all of how it was like in those times
