What you've done with this level is nothing short of fantastic. Just watching it I felt completely immersed - it all fits so naturally together. At one point I forgot this wasn't Mario Galaxy or Mario Sunshine.

A Tron like Mario level would be welcome! For example an inside the N64 console type of level with electronics and neon lights. And where you can actually "vroom vroom" the RAM bus and find the star in the inserted cartridge of this console level.
the farms at 0:42 (and similiar ones afterwards) are a bit hard to figure out where you can stand on. maybe make the light bigger or have the entire roof be the light.
I would've totally done a version of this level where sun is lighting up the planet from below but is very conveniently blocked by the moon, so only ambient light in the level comes up from the bottom and any static lights in the level 👀 Makes everything look weird and wonky because the silhouettes look different because of the direction of the light. And I guess is also good that here's an in-world reason for it!
Wil there maybe be a setting for adjusting the camera turn noise? Personal subjective preferences but I feel it’s just a bit too distracting for me. I’d prefer the more percussive original ‘click’ sound, or just less tonal and maybe quieter.
btw i hope Shigeru Miyamoto is keep up with your videos. or at the very least is is aware of your project. im sure hes impressed, not only with your stuff but also that an old arse n64 is capable of all this.
Do you think you could do a video on your skyboxes? I'd like to learn more about how you accomplished them on the N64. Also, I feel like maybe the glass of the greenhouses could have some environment mapping to make them look a bit more shiny and to make them more visible.
Depth perception feels a little bit weird on parts where you walk on glass, i think adding a metal structure to those domes and water containers could improve on this and make them look nicer. Also the water containers look a little weird, like how do you fill those or more importantly how are they connected to the planting domes, the water seems wayy too cyan and saturated. The lack of transparency in the water looks off.
Looks great. The purple jump things (idk what to call them) look a bit weird - the motion looks too linear. Maybe adding some acceleration to them could look good?

I really liked what I saw of it Level looks great, btw, really like the theme idea, very original and tells that story like you always want. I do wonder if something needs to be done to make the transparent walkable surfaces more obvious.

Id love to see interconnectivity or reference to previous worlds within the game. maybe not, but something like in delfini plaza signs pointing to next courses or like in yoshis island the overworld is like a story book. Im not a game designer. Just a suggestion. Looks great so far and im excisted to play it.

0:17 May I suggest you to improve your Space art style with little geometric tweak? Not saying is not going to be effortless, but if instead of 4, 5 and 8 sides polygons you go to most efficient 3 and 6 base ones. You'll improve your plantation Packing density per unit of surface of soil in a +42% using hexagonal (equilater triangle) lattice. You can reduce the use of materials in -30% while optimizing the strength, etc. probably also use half the triangles to draw. "Honey comb" or 2D carbon structure is your 2Space" friend. Techno and futuristic aspect for free. Pentagon domes going to Hexagonal will have more volume for equivalent surface (you save in glass, soil and grow more plants. 0:11 use Triangle or hexagon and save weight add strength to the mesh...
lmao yeah i am aware that hex/tris are a more efficient pattern but i dont think thats necessarily means i have to use that here. we humans have plenty of inefficient architecture for visuals ourselves. most of the main area is hexagon based though

Bouncing off Sonic springs into wall jumps is something so satisfying that I never knew I needed. Gorgeous assets and level design as well.

It'd be neat to have a billboard or something advertising 'Bunny Brushwood Carrots' or something as a callback to level 1.
the way the lights shine on the water capsules makes it hard to believe all this can run on actual n64 hardware...can't wait to play the full game.
