Pack your bags for this trip. The O'Jays discography is massive..."I Love Music", "Use ta Be My Girl", "Darlin' Darlin' Baby" just scratchin' the surface.
When I read "pack your bags for this trip", I thought you were going to mention a different O'Jays song - "Love Train". They made so many great and memorable hits it's hard to recall them all but once I read another title I immediately start singing.
Soon as i seen this i clicked so fast!! Reminds me of my dad. I was raised with the ojays..the whispers.. The temptations.. Tavares.. The spinners.. Miss you dad.
O'Jays songs to react to: I Love Music, Cried Together, Backstabbers, She Used To Be My Girl, For The Love Of Money, Put Your Hands Together, Family Reunion, Darling Darling Baby and Stairway To Heaven!
Gerald Levert is the son of the lead singer of The O’Jays Eddie Levert, you need to react to some of his music “BabyHold On To Me” and Teena Marie ft Gerald Levert“ ARose By Any Other Name” Gerald Levert passed away at young age. Both of Eddie Levert son passed away. They where the Group “Levert “ should check out their music too.
Both of Eddie's sons passed away. His son had the most beautiful Heartfelt voice, only duplicated by his Pop's, in HIS footsteps. He sang with his Godmother, Patti Labelle and killed it, yet, nvr received the Recognition he deserved.. he was truly "The wind beneath my wings."😪
This is my SHIZ! I was born in 1971 & my dad was a road manager so these songs were ALWAYZ played in my home! Plus I’m from Philly & their songs were written by Philly songwriters & producers! This is REAL singing! We had that black panther pic too! I was actually velvet. Didn’t know that did you!😂😂😂😂
Love the comment ..I was also born in 71 and I'm from Philly ,and this music def was a staple in our homes . Thanks 4 the remembrance of the old days ...and young men keep doing what ur doing and hopefully some other people of ur age bracket will caught on. 👏👏👏
The O'Jays deserve lots of respect. They are beyond talented and have left millions of memories through their music. You need to notice that none of them were reaching for their private parts. Yes, clean clear lyrics. Your gramma might have listened to them, but so have millions too.
Now you're JAMMIN !!!! This is one of the best music groups of ALL TIME !!! They've been in this business for over 60 years. They deserve your reaction. Reaction to them more often. EXCELLENT selection !!!!!
Love me some O'Jays. You should hear them sing "A Prayer". They will take you right on to church with that song. I remember some radio stations would open / start their day by playing that song.
Please react to Eddie Levert's sons group Levert. Pop, pop, pop Goes My Mind or Cassanova. They were talented and had very strong and distinctive voices like their father and uncle that made up the O'Jays. RIP Sean & Gerald Levert 🤍💫🕊.
The O’Jays were among the last few concerts I saw before Covid. It was my second time seeing them with my father who is now 74 and this was his first ever concert. Among my favorite still touring old school R&B bands. Eddie Levert and Walter Williams are LEGENDS that have stood for 60 years through multiple sclerosis, deaths of sons, deaths of their third members. Shoutout to Eric Nolan Grant. My personal favorite: Darlin Darlin Baby!
The O'Jays are the epitome of classy soul! "Forever Mine" features their TWO awesome lead singers: the super smooth Walter Williams and the gospel influenced Eddie Levert! Please review "Use Ta Be My Girl", "Back Stabbers" and "For The Love of Money". Hooray for the mighty, mighty, O'Jays!
My wife and I saw the O'Jays back in 1989 at Cincinnati Music Hall with the Temptations but the Temptations sang only one song due to a sickness in the group so the O'Jays put on a three hour concert. It was one of the best concerts we ever seen. Check out these songs by the O'Jays Livin' For The Weekend Family Reunion
@Chris Campbell - they definitely give a great concert! I've seen them perform several times and never came home disappointed. Knew every song; every word. 😁
I lived my teen years with The O'Jays' music. Their love songs are songs we "dedicated" to our boyfriends, their sad songs we cried to when we broke up with our boyfriends! Their songs tell stories. "Backstabbers" says " they smile in your face, all the time they wanna take your place." The Love Train talks about how all people all over the world are the same, are equal. It was the theme song for the TV show, the Love Train. The O'Jays are classic, they are smooth, they are soul! ✌💙
Yasssss young men! I fell in love with the O'jays because of my mom. My fav Ojays song "Cry Together". I love your appreciation of music from all generations and genres!
The OJays was one of those soul groups from the 70's that kept the hits coming. The 2nd member of the group to sing is Eddie Levert . He had the power house voice. His sons even formed a group called LeVert and they went on to have many hit songs as well. His oldest son Gerald LeVert went solo and also had many hit songs. Gerald and his dad Eddie LeVert also came together and had hit songs and one of them was ( Baby Hold On To Me). Could you please do a reaction to that song? Video version please.
Whew, I remember when ....The O'Jays still one of the best groups of yesteryear and today. They still touring today and have a slew of bangers, "Let Me Make Love To", "You Got Your Hooks in Me", "Sunshine", all classics to name a few. This song was released 1979! Definitely a brown liquor song!!! 😁😁😁❤❤❤
I grew up listening to them- watching ppl slow dance on one tile on the floor - close and slow- a great group and still their music never gets old - all their songs are great 💜
Thank you Nephews!! This is my favorite old school song from The Ojays!! I grew up listening to them and the Whispers as my Sisters played their records !!
I first saw the O'Jays at the Baby Grand in Canton, Ohio, years before they signed with the Philly Sound. They are the best group of only 3 guys out there. Now you need to play Stairway to Heaven. They made a lot of bangers. These aren't the original three, but just as good. So glad you're discovering them.
You see them stepping during and that's traditional. In small bars there is often only 1 microphone so soul or blues groups would work out steps so they could go in to the mic when they sang and step back when others sang. The O'Jays were so typically 70s soul. Listen to their Money or Backstabbers - what they do!
You all have asked before, what the difference was between R&B and Soul music? This is SOUL music at it's best. With the Gamble and Huff production, the vocals of Walter Williams and Eddie Levert are unprecedented. Your reaction proves that the Ojays music stands the test of time.
Yes!!! More O'Jays please. I am one of those Aunties who is still listening to this music, no drink needed! They have too many hits to choose from but please, please, please react to Help (somebody please) !!!
Ya'll DEFINITELY need to react to BACK STABBERS !!! In New Orleans the band at the football games used to play it, and everyone would jump up out of there seats to dance to it . And I mean THE WHOLE STADIUM ! So fun !!!
Y'all finally did some O'Jays🔥One thing I can say about this group is that they are awesome when they perform. Seeing them live is one of the best concerts I've been to, they know how to entertain. As everybody's commenting Eddie Levert, one of the singers in the group is Gerald Levert father, but then I don't know if you know who Gerald Levert is so maybe you can react to one of his songs 👍
Thanks so much for featuring this song. This is one of the greatest soul songs ever and the mighty O'Jays are the one of the smoothest groups ever. That includes the Dells and all of the groups at Motown. Love that sweet soul music.
The O'Jays had great music they were the BOMB!! Very sad when Eddie Levert's sons passed they were very young. Eddie's son Gerald had great music out when he passed. RIP

That is a smooth song. These guys were a bit older than my generation. We'd slow dance to that song. This is a song that brings back memories of going to dances. More O'Jays would not hurt a bit. You could get some more of their songs that you haven't guys yet. Thanks for posting this. I enjoyed this one. 👍🏽🙏🏽😊
I met and interviewed them back in the 90’s. Went to their concert when they were touring withThe Temptations. Walter Williams was walking around outside the concert venue. We saw his jacket and thought it was a souvenir. When we asked him about it, he said it was a group jacket. We told him I was a teen community reporter, so he gave us backstage passes to meet the group and interview them. Unfortunately they had already left by the time our passes were honored. Saw The Temptations briefly as they were leaving. One of the musicians backstage happened to be a family member of one of the ladies that took me to the concert. He told us where they were staying, and we went to the hotel and found them. Met the local DJ’s there and took pictures with them. Took pictures with the O’Jays and some of the Temptations. Walter took us down to the hotel restaurant and let me interview him. And sat talking with us awhile. I would have to look at the old copies of the papers to remember which concert came first, but I believe it was this one. I ended up briefly meeting and interviewing Patti LaBelle at the same concert venue as I was leaving her concert. She was not a happy camper that night. A reporter from Ebony magazine was supposed to cover her concert and was blocked from taking photos of her during the concert by the venue. And Patti was prevented from having physical contact with her audience. Apparently Barbara Mandrell had almost been harmed in some manner during her concert at the same venue.
One of the greatest soul groups of all time so many good songs "Love Train", "For the love of money", "Living for the weekend", "Brandy", etc.!👍
💓💓💓 Yes. I am so lucky to have seen them a couple of years ago. I took a picture with them as I sobbed.
