- Katana build cap lvl150 for damaging and soloing early game
My crit calculation in total is

Note that some beginners might not have enough SP for this build, you'll need to get them from emblems.
No stargems was used in this build as I'm too broke for that.
Battle skills are also skipped for this early build, reason because i have enough crit to begin with, and atk up + intimidating power is only good when your lvl is 200+, so I'm skipping it for later.
I thought reaching 150 would make me feel strong but no reaching 150 made me realise it’s just the beginning to be stronger lol

Are you using auto or manual evasion in this build?
Just asking, is it effective to use mid/long mp combo to activate Garyou when not using impact? I mean, 7mp is kinda...a lot since my play style is spamming and dps.
you could always use 1mp opener, it wont be much difference compared to regular 5mp garyou with impact, then just have backstep as the ender to make it short and slightly safer.
Tho personally I almost never use smited garyou combo, nowadays i just use garyou > gsw cons > kairiki cons. I only use smited garyou when:
1. boss has slow animation
2. boss has long enough intervals between each attack
Reason why I prefer this is because I always use this immediately after garyou reaches 10th stack as well as to refresh gsw and kairiki buff.
So in conclusion: It's never effective to use mid / long combos. Make it short even if the mp cost is big because katana has great ampr.

One last question, I see some shortcut combo's that weren't mentioned in the video, is it possible that you can explain how you set up those shortcuts? Because with the shortcuts you've shown compared to the shortcuts you have it doesn't show how to set up Garyou Tensei. Also can you explain in what order to use them in? I can't seem to do 1m+ Garyou or 200k+ Tenryu
For the combo I used here was Kairiki - Garyou (Smite) - Reflex (consecutive) I still sucked at timing my buffs back then so I hd to use kairiki for garyou's opener so that I would always have the buff to boost its damage.
Nowadays I just use garyou without smite and instead use it as a combo opener to refresh my buffs. Garyou - Godspeed wield (consecutive) - kairki ( consecutive ) Dmg doesn't really matter as long as you can beat the boss, there's always someone stronger than you anyways.
As for how I set it in the video, I had it right beside the mini map key, I had manual evassion set to Manual B so i can use the slot for more combos. I needed more combo shorcuts because most of the skills I had, I used em manually.
And lastly for damage, Garyou scales on ATK power, crit damage, and short range damage. Where as Tenryu Scales the same but added with Physical Pierce as well as Unseathe attack to the mix.
All you need to do is get the right xtals and equips to maximize these stats to have better damage, and lastly is your weapons refinement, here I only have a +B weapon which means +S isn't always what you need to dish out strong damage. Other equips plays as a crucial role in dmg raising as well.

Bru i have a question, even i dont have a lvl 210 character but my main is already 160 and i have mid budget equip, can i be able to deal that kind of damage just like yours?
Depends on wut mid budget equip you have, back then i was able to deal around 100k to 150k tenryu per slash at level 160 ish before i haa a 210 cap char.
To deal decent dmg you need about
140% unseathe attack
2,4k atk power
290% crit damage
114% short range damage
If you can fulfill these kriteria ,you should deal decent damage
Also, if ur damage sucks on bosses its a normal thing if you don't have physical pierce. I had pierce from my anniv katana here so even ultimate bosses becomes cheese
My build is full crit though i dont have unsheath. My attack power is around 2k and my class is ds. The highest damage that i can deal is only around 200k even though my build is mid budget.. Attack,str,critrate,critdmg,attckspeed.. Both weap and armor.. Then my acce is more on attack speed and manasteal
@@lacz7244 Ah so you're dual sword. In that case no need for unseathe.
Stats for dual sword can either be full str and 247 agi to maximise your crit damage, or at least have 255 agi if you want better speed. but ofc if you're still lvl 160, You can balance out your stat distribution since unlike other dps, agi gives sub atk and sub stability which is crucial for dual sword. You can't just go max str head on like other dps.
for weapon, I'd suggest demon empress sword from npc blacksmith at sofya refined to +B at minimum. that sword has good enough crit rate as well as some atk%
if you have better budget, a 1 slotted +s anniv 5 sword with atk10 str5 crit damage10% crit damage 20 and crit rate 21 stat would always be a better option. xtal can be hexter if you're wealthy enough, but if not, can just go with mp xtals or neo maton sword for damage, secondary slot is best for pomie chan if you ever get it 2 slotted
For sub weapon ur gonna want to have all elemental sword with equal atk as your main weapon. refined at minimum to +D or at best to +B. the damage difference between +B and +S on sub weapon is very unnoticable so don't worry about it. refinement and element for dual sword sub is important as it effects ur damage unlike other sub weapon refinement on other dps. it's a special case
For additional, i'd prefer gladiator helmet for a few reason:
1. more Crit rate is always good
2. Dual sword dmg is quite meh so needs a good stability to not reach lower numbers on ultimate bosses where all of your attacks would graze (halved stability)
3. Stability gives a bit of damage multiplier for dual sword skills
And for going againts tumble sensitive bosses, you can switch gladiator with york's pendant instead of buying a useless expensive shitty ass hallu spore ring. Best xtal for additional would be mega alpoca considering the price went down after modders mass farm it, idk now tho. Other options would be gravicep, or royal ox if you're lucky enough to get it from hidden boss.
Next for the armor, I'd suggest getting adventurers garb 2 slot as it's better than bark mail with only 1 slot when you have the right xtals, but ofc 1 slot bark mail is still decent. Stats should be atk7% for adventurers garb, atk 10% for bark mail. Rest is crit damage 10%, crit damage 20, and crit rate 21. Xtals I'd recommend would be arachnidemon and gravicep for 2 slot, but if you only have 1 slot, I'd go for black shadow or guignol.
best budget ring would always be machina ring. Xtals for it would be gravicep and ageladanios, tho if you can't afford too much xtals.. can always just get 1 slotted dark talisman with ageladanios on it
Now the thing for getting the right xtals for your build is ballance
My ideal would be full atk xtals on weapon
one mega alpoca for additional if my armor is 2 slotted, or just gravicep if my armor is 1 slotted
Arachnidemon and gravicep if I'm playing glassy 2k Hp playstyle, or gopherga black shadow if I'm going 10k safe play no gsw. And if going for 1 slot only i'd go with arachnidemon
For the ring I'll always go for ageladanios and gravicep, this is flexible for any dps so i can use it whenver or wherever.
Thing to note about xtals are:
1. don't stack ageladanios because of the -magic resistance despite it having crit damage and atk%. have only 1 on your ring if you don't plan on playing glassy with only 1k HP
2. only have 2 gravicep xtals if you have arachnidemon as the -crit rate penalty would be overriden by the crit rate stat on arachnidemon, and the -400mp would be nullified by 2 graviceps. other then that, it's better to get xtals that don't give too much -stats like black shadow or gopherga
3. Keep attack% and short range damage% at ballance. There's not much difference on which is better, they both deal the same damage but if not ballance, the damage will be lowered so it's best to keep them stable
For main spam skills would be shining cross as it's easiest to spam, you don't gave to get other skills as it's more playstyle than effective when you do that, plus it wastes skill points especially if you don't have access to stargems.
Get your dual swords passive like dual sword control and dual sword mastery to remove the stab and crit nerfs. next get an ampr skill like sukuchi and decoy shot, then your main damage skill which is shining cross. those are the things you want to focus on. others are mandatory and only damage or survival raising.
That's all i can say for dual sword build I guess

Its on the left bottom side, i set it as shortcut there. As for garyou, i had it in combo with kairiki
so you don't use evasion to dodge

Is it halbeard skill, gsw 30% motion important? My skill point not enough hm sad
gsw is optional, it's playstyle dependant. If you want faster tenryu and easier Tenryu Zannou timing then you can gsw. Ofc it puts ur character at risk of dying easily so If you don't like such playstyle, I don't recommend it. Not to mention it costs a lot of skill points
so long as you have tenryu, kairiki, Two-Handed and bushido passive as well as decoy and sukuchi for ampr, that should be enough for it to be useful. Rest can get vit 30 and HP boost if you want more survivability during bosses. Also Recovery is needed if you're not playing low Hp and not gsw reliant. It removes the burn ailment from kairiki
Hey amakagi im back after 2years of not playing, i want make a new character again (katana) cuz u know im a katana weeb lol, so anyway i just realised in the video you are using "reflex skill" but you didnt show if you did get the said skill when youre showing your skill point distribution, are you using stargem for that? Or did you allocate skillpoints to it? Sorry my english isnt that good lol.

@@allnighterist dual sword is ok, only problem is getting the sub swords with different elements, other then that its a fine class.
Dual sword has plenty of skills to keep u alive as a new player so its gonna give you a better player experience since its unlikely ur going to die every few seconds, not to mention it got really good mp recovery and speed even without god speed wield.
If u dont mind about damage and equipment slots then yes I'd recommend dual swords. Plus as u said, it's a nice thing to try new stuff.
Personally i still prefer katana cuz its less decoy shot dependant and is cooler, only downside is its more vulnerable and less survival as dual swords

You can add more shortcuts on the settings. Additional shortcuts, however, its limited to only 6 unlike in the pc version

Newbie here. I saw a lot of TH-camrs using Magic Impact and Finale. For 16 Skill Pts, are those really worth it?
For most dps that has 5mp cost skills like halberd and two handed yes. But katanas don't really need impact and finale.
1. Katana main dps skills are low mp cost
2. Impact is bad for some bosses that are sensitive to tumble
3. Katanas mp recovery is already insane and can play without using decoy shot
You can get impact finale sure but it all depends on preference and playstyle. Personally I wouldn't go for it as its a waste of skill points

Nice! This is actually the guide i followed when i reached 150 a month ago. I'm lvl 201 now XD and my better xtals for ktn atm are only Specter of Death and Tappler. Both gives 10% + Unsheathe with Tappler being slightly better. And yeah, i unlocked Flash Blast so I wouldn't need to get another Tappler or Specter to replace my Venena in my Machina ring. Thanks for the guide!

I dont need it, my tenryu buff is always on 24/7. lv10 zantei's dmg will be replaced with tenryu ransei zannou dmg so i have no need for it

usually lvl 150 has around 210 skill points, as for me i got 213 ish thanks to some emblems.

Yeah, some katana skills gives invincibility for a few seconds, when timed correctly it can be used to avoid damage and survive with low hp
@@Bakagii listen, so i have been wanting to build a dps to level up faster by fighting monsters till 250, i am 206 rn and i have everything resetted, so i am trying to find what can be the best dps for solo and party runs, katana seems to be the best one, would you recommend to go for this or halberd is good too?
@@wallflower7016 hmm that depends on what equip you have available tbh. I would recommend bows or bowguns since those gets invited the most and has more survivability due to range, but personally i get bored of bow gaming so i can understand if thats not to your liking xd.
Ktn i wouldnt recommend unless u absolutely love the gameplay of the class, hb is a good pick since it has decent range and also has good pierce so you'll be hitting pretty hard regardless on finstern and kuzto.
So i would rank bow as first, hb second, and ktn last unless u really like it
@@Bakagii its kinda hard choice, i already have another bow character at 170 something level, also going for bow solo is very hard with monsters that move a lot.
and halberd was my first class when i came to the game but i was kinda broke that time and my build was doing shit damage, so i moved to farmer that time.
rn i can buy any good equips, already have some, just need a good katana,
but halberd build will help with farming high class monsters too, not sure if that would be good without LUK.

@@twisty8005 I'd recommend mortal lamina if ur level is a bit higher to craft it. But as a pure beginner then sure, lil empress from venena drop is viable. The MP i got is from food buffs as shown in the video.

can go with bark mail or savage mail for armor, npc or boss drop are both good.
Keep the machina ring and try to get odelon and specter of death xtal, if don't have then just buy non slotted dark talisman power ring for the 3% atk.
As for the katana, Yashiro azuki event is about to be held again next week, that event has a katana with 100 crit rate and most probably going to get an upgrade. Death Samurai 3 Katana. You wont need to worry about crit with that katana.
for stat distribution, go with full 255 dex, 40 vit, rest put into str. Newbies can't go STR > DEX because they lack crit damage equipments, this is the best option.
And finally, skill distribution.
with 191 skill points you can get these.
- Monofu Skills
Tenryu(Lv10) Magadachi(Lv5) Zantei (Lv1) Shukuchi (Lv1) Kairki(Lv10) Bushido (Lv10) Two-Handed (Lv10) No need for garyou yet
- Shot Skills
Quick draw(Lv10) Decoy Shot (Lv10)
- Dual Sword Skills
Godspeed (Lv10) Flashblast (Lv10)
- Survival Skills
HP Boost (Lv10) MP Boos (Lv10)
- Support Skills
Recovery (Lv1) to remove Kairiki burn ailment
No need to GSW with this build, it's good for staying alive, just don't be too reckless and you should be able to stay alive during boss runs.
With vit 40 and HP boost, as well as Death Samurai Katana you should have 10k HP or more, that's enough to survive multiple times. Rest depends on your skill play to survive boss aoe
All these skills only costs around 178 skill points so you still have lots to spare for later on.
You would also have around 50% unseathe from this equip so tenryu damage should be pretty decent as long as your wep is refined to +D at minimum

Low budget with npc and non slotted stuff? Sure
Mortal lamina from the npc blacksmith is the best so far, its just missing 20 extra crit from the drop version, it's got good stats and mats arent that expensive in cb.
For arm, heaven feather npc is still best for low budget and hp mp for beginners
For additional, top hat is currently the best for cheapest but if non slot, go for scary scarf as it's more budget friendly and has better stats.
As for ring, machina ring is best as its really cheap and gives 2 slot, tho i suggest getting ones with spectre and odelon alrd put in, it's probably the most expensive of this set but it gives good output as non slot will lack unseathe attack.
That's the lowest budget i can think of for now

once tenryu ransei's buff is active, tenryu becomes 1mp, original buff duration is 10 sec, you can extend it to 30 sec with magadachi or zantei

i don't really recommend it if you're new and still have the book of oblivion. just leech your way on venena till lvl 200 then reset it into a blacksmith, it's a waste of reset book if your character is still lvl 150 xD. just start over, lvling to 150 doesn't take too long

If ur gonna go str dex blacksmith weapon crafter I'd suggest going for bow. Lesser skill point consumption and gets party invites a lot easier so wont be hard to level

Honestly? neither.. tenryu is easier to spam and u dont have to cast like you do with ninja skills. Dark power is just a loss in dps due to how slow the animation is. Tenryu is still superior overall and it also makes u able to spam garyou easier, and we all know just how hard garyou slaps with that 100% physical pierce and high damage

Oh thats just my preference, i dont like putting zantei in combo mostly cuz i use it for emergency counters instead of actual damage. And if i try making it 1mp by putting in combos it'll take a bit of timing practice which sucks so yeah..

if ur starting off new yeah it is, especially since anniv is happening rn, good chance to get a good katana. A side note to change would be getting lace headress instead of top hat if its still cheap in consignment board

No, the app of orion is good and all, especially for selling later after snowball. But for effectiveness in battles I really don't recommend it
If damage to neutral wise i'd recommend venena meta's. It has higher attack and decent enough crit as well as only 5% difference from new orion
if crit rate and dmg wise I'd recommend the new Modestia or Mortal lamina as it has better damage incresing stats as well as higher weapon atk
The best NPC katana however still goes to anniv5. that thing beats a regular ASCDCDCR statted katanas, it's still not stronger than full dte ofc but if it performs better than ASCDCDCR then it's still on second rank compared to DTE. Not to mention it has 30 crit lmao.
And not only is Orion bad, it's also quite annoying to get since it costs 10k points just to get it.. it's stats are pretty much ass. I mean it would be decent if only the damage to neutral were 35% like the knucks and staffs from stellar ooze. But even so, it's still trash cuz of the low atk, and it will only get even more outclassed by the new upcoming katanas in the next 4 months countdown before anniv 6 comes

you gotta wait next anniv for now, sadly. Should be here in 4 to 5 months from now. In the meantime, other npc substitute that are quite decent and are available even now without events would be
1. Demon Empress Katana: rather hard to get cuz venena meta is deserted and quite hard to beat even with full party.
2. Mortal Lamina: NPC crafted or boss drop is both good, it's just that the boss drop has better crit rate compared to the NPC crafted one.
3. Anniv player craft stat ASCDCDCR: this is quite costly but should work good enough. Refine at least to +B or +D at minimum for decent dmg output if can't get +S

First of all to identify which red aoe is 3x clapping and which is ground smashing, the ground smash is usually a follow up after normal attack(non red aoe) spinning pound.
the tripple clap red aoe on the other hand usually comes at random after any attack. and usually it has like 3 seconds delay so that's enough to identify what's coming.
A thing to note about the tripple claps, you can just backstep away and stood still like what i did on my new Katana solo, just wait for it's attack animation to finish.
Or you can do what I did with my Two Handed. Move to the left avoiding the red aoe first and stand perfectly 3m away from it. Two Handed's attack range is 3m unlike Katana that is 2m, hence if ur 3m away you won't get hit with the second and third tumble stun non aoe follow up.
In conclusion, just stay away from it till animation ends xD
Wait what if i dont have a lvl 210 character, my highest lvl char is at 170, will my skill points be enough to copy this? Im assuming you already have a max lvl char since you were able to include warcry in this lvl 150 char.

@CalvinRR not quite sure, just try to get as many SP as you can from emblem rewards. it helps lots, plus emblems from capping a character is mostly stat points but yeah. Try clicking reset all skill tree on your lvl 170 char, you'll see how much skill points you have at max, I'll help you with skill distributions so just tell me what's your maximum skill point rn

@@allnighterist 225 on lvl 170 - 20 for lvl 150, 1 extra sp on every 5 lvls makes it -25 sp so 201 in total on lvl 150. That should be enough.
I often go without Hp because 5k is too small for survival so just take this example for reference. Decide yourself if you want to follow or not.

Those are the skill's I would take, but this build is suited for my equips. Less HP and full on dmg.
If you want to play safe tenryu i suggest using scarlet sakura or death samurai if you have. Mortal lamina and modestia works too.
You can skip Godspeed and brave aura for playing safe to save 40 extra skill points. With that you can get flashblast and HP boost as well as recovery to not burn from kairiki.
i chose to skip flashblast because my equip has enough unseath, another 10% wont make much difference. But if you lack unseathe then it's pretty good to get.

@@lichayaba6144 there's usually reset campaigns every year or whenever a new skill tree or feature is released, it usually around december but judging from this year, we alrd had 2 reset campaigns so i doubt we'll get a 3rd on december. As for reset books, you usually get them as a beginner, from gacha avatar chest, or potum darts if you're lucky

I don't understand how I'm 151 but you seem to have more skill points than me.
Unlocking emblems, some emblems gives skill points. Most emblems that gives skill points are from 1 to 5 hours of time played and player level reached. Some also comes from amount of times as attacker, support, tank, or breaker. And still plenty others.
Just unlock as many emblems as you can that gives skill points

@@Equinoxxxxx i had a lvl9 food buff as shown on my video, precisely at minute 8:30 That's where the extra 4k hp came from. If your hp is 1,2k and don't have access to food buffs or HP xtals. then you should get hp boost lvl10 from survival skill and put at least 30 or 40 points in VIT. You should get more or less 6k Hp from that alone and wont lower your damage output at all but gives you more survivability

@@Astania08 equipping neo maton xtal or specter of death helps with that since it got -aggro stats. Or you can try sticking to tanks guardian passive, decreases connected player aggro and it also gives u +20ampr and some dmg reduction
