oh yeah, chat is so juicy in this, especialy the banter betwen players at the start. The first week with MarineLord and TheViper in the same game were golden in this regard
I think I'll just say what we're all thinking - Outback Octagon is the best thing to have happened to AoE4 since its' release. Nothing comes close.

This series is outright fabulous. But I think there should be some kind of rewarding mechanism for players that really try to cling on until the last minute like some players, especially Faye, do. It is better to watch great king escapes and transport ship shenanigans and get eliminated later than other players. Rewarding such players could even compensate for players that get bad spawns. Anyway, loving the series!
Yes, but survival bonus have so far motivated camping and "totally not teaming", so it'd have to be much smaller than it was.
@@FeelsOldMan Yeah agreed, kills should be worth more than surviving but getting 0 points even though putting up greatly with a bad spawn seems a bit unfair.
It's too late in the series to change rules now but maybe outback octagon 3 can do 4 points for victory, 2 for runner up and 1 point for 3-4th place each
@@yusuftahaeker9694 I think an unofficial bonus system would be best. The judges should be allowed to reward some points for stuff like that if they all concur some point are in order for a great performance. Any sort of hard rule here would potentially encourage the wrong things. Of course people wouldn't always be happy with the rulings but I think it's the lesser of two evils. Only award some points in extreme cases where everyone can clearly agree that a player deserves some extra credit.
There already is a bonus for that though. At the end of the tournament they are giving $1000 to whoever gives the 'best defense' in a game.
I'm surprised Wam was able to have his entire army outside his base for all those early snipes and no one even thought about sniping his king in his undefended base.
That 350 army was huge! sent half of it to east and still had plenty in west to bring down Kaup's siege
wow kaup was going ham! from minute 30:42 to 33:30 he managed to get striker from 132 villagers down to 72 AND managed to kill capoch. insane play.
Beasty was easily set up to win this but he went headless chicken mode.
Agreed, he went too greedy thinking this is a normal team game.
nah not easily at all-- he was on the clock given how cut off he was. yeah, he got caught with his pants down because Wam completely Zerged him, but there's no shot Beasty gets out of that corner without getting greedy.
@@MVPhurricane Sorry but that's nonsense. He was basically 1 vs 1 against wam and had absolutely no one else on his flanks while Wams flanks were exposed. He was set up to win that easy.

@@MVPhurricane Watch the actual game before you talk bro. Yes, the corner had four people, but they were al behind Wam, which means they would all be attacking each other while Beasty only had to worry about Wam.

Kaup should have built a wonder while he was ahead...he easily could have taken a 2v1 with all of those defensive fortifications.

Love watching these! Can I recommend scrolling/dragging around the map a bit more than clicking? I think it'll help us figure out what fits where more easily?
Can i just say i loved Anotand hold, with the close calls and transport ship stuff. I'm sure next time ppl will think twice before trying to snipe him

Yeah sadly also the mod is pretty unstable and a lot of people are crashing
gg to all, wam showed incredible aggression early on which set them up in the late game. Loved the great migration from Kaup, 5 minutes behind to start but made up for lost time easily. Shoutout to crackedy for maintaining chat.

The transport ship play by anotand was so frustrating to watch lol I'm happy wam was a good sport about it in the end
There should be a scoring to motivate people to play as long as they can. Something like giving points to players matching the order they are eliminate. So first one, zero points, second to be eliminated, 1 point, and so on.
This is so good, drongo! Would love to see at 2v2v2v2 but only one can win. Keep regicide pop bonus so team mates can work together or betray in fear their team mate is getting too powerful
Why would Beasty take out his king across the map between 4 players for no reason? Would have much higher chances if he stayed in his base... Also, 3 TC that fast? Super greedy, gets punished..
I think whoever got the wonder up first was going to win. Kaups only chance was the sacred victory at that point. The defender just can't lose in a 1v1 when both sides have massive pop. It takes too long to get to the wonder. One side has to build anti-building siege, while the other can make mass Mangonel/Springald. Defenders advantage is an automatic win in this context.

He obviously didn't know Kaup's army was there. He was sneaking the king by the edge of the map and had no vision north.

This 50 pop mechanic could have a rework .
For eg . Killing a king rewards 25 pop . And everyone gets 25 pop after each 30 minutes of the game .
Also would give 25 pop for each 500 unit kills .
Some players are just dead wirh 200 pop . Makes no sense how broken killing a random king is .

Maybe someone who knows the numbers more can correct me, but it seems a little unfair to me the mongols can still bombard tower spam? With the price increase for every other civs emplacements, it feels like Mongols actually now have the most cost efficient turtling in the late game, by a lot.
I don’t think not having walls makes that much of a difference by late game.
They have no walls and no keeps, without bombard towers they're practically defenseless and have to camp in their own base just to prevent any king snipe with knights.

Walls are overpowered in the early game because they prevent fast raids and snipes. Bombard tower spam is easily countered by rams in the late game.
This move from beasty made no sense! Way to greedy by going 3 tc's and then evac the king? I dunno but that was kinda bad..
Worst play iIve ever seen from him. He was set up to win this match.
Was hoping all the center guys focus on each other while he does his classic corner boom (worked great for him in Game 7 and gets him a lot of pts). But when an age 3 mongol starts sieging him down and idling his vils, it looks stupid.
@@v4enthusiast541 It didn't just look silly, it was silly because he wasn't nearly far enough away from the others for something like that to work. 2 TCs would have been fine, and then go for a third in castle age.
He also made no attempt to defend his base, which could have bought him time for someone else to attack WAM.

I'm imagining someone like Faye in that position fighting tooth and nail to hold onto that position until someone else distracts Wam (probably Capoch or Striker), then maybe even sneaking a kill on Loue or Capoch later in the game. Beasty just played so, so, so greedily. Even his migration was greedy af.
Some players just want their opponents to just surrender to them lol. how about ya earn the kill? Is the enemy king alive? if yes, then you gotta figure out how to kill the king. simple as.
Wam was being so greedy at the beginning. He was lucky that noone was attacking him that whole time . Not a good play at all.

If your going to discourage teaming than at the 50:30 mark when you were discussing it, the only legitimate reason for teaming is sacred or wonder victory. Sure wam had 350 but orange had 300. That is not a military run away. Red only had 200 sure but not a legitimate reason to punish either player with kills. I understand you were thinking on the fly but can’t expect people to take it seriously if there is any other reason at that moment other than if someone went for sacred or wonder.
