  • You would have observed that in fresh morning the leaves of grass have fine droplets of water over them, Similarly the evaporator of air conditioner released water from it which to be drained. Why it is so? The answer is it is a psychometric phenomenon i.e. the dew point temperature. In this lecture you will understand what is dew point temperature and the thermodynamics behind it.

    Sir ,here u said that at wet bulb temperature (38°c), corresponding pressure Pw = vapour pressure . But in next lesture you said total pressure Pb = Pa + Pv. Does total pressure at 38°c is different from Pw ?. Evaporation occurs when vapour pressure is equal to pressure exerted by air on water surface. so does Pa = Pv?

      What is air humidity, at what pressure u running kiln....??? Is there any other type of gas present other than air and water...?? If so at what percentage..???
      For Ur qsn all those information are needed.

    Hello sir.....if temperature fall below saturation temperature then how phase change occur?? Phase change occur only at constant temperature. Then why air is rejected some amount of water?? Please reply sir

    • @Dr.AmitMandal
      @Dr.AmitMandal  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Suppose saturation temp is 30C and the air temp is 32C. In case by some way the air temperature falls below 30 C say 29, then the air can hold less moisture compared to that at 30, due to this it will loose some moisture . Now your question is, for phase change it needs latent heat to be rejected where it will do it?. the answer is, it will reject the latent heat to the cooling device used for bringing down the temp of air from 32C to 29C. This is called as latent heat load.

      Dear Raj, phase change occur at constant temperature this rule is for pure fluid not for mixture. For mixture phase change occurs from bubble point temp to dew point temp. Consult air water vapour liq equilibrium curve. U will get.

      Dear Sir,
      Nicely explain dpt concept in video and i have one doubt please explain it,
      If the temperature is drop down then the dpt leads to condensation but if temp. is increase than dpt than wht happen?
