    I am writing a personal excellence manual for a client and I was intrigued by your video because:
    1. You start with high impact and are very watchable with a good camera presence.
    2. You are brief, yet clear in what you say.
    3. You use relevant evidence.
    Thank you for the experience!

    LOVE IT!
    1. Be refreshingly real!
    2. Create through transparency-create trust by sharing behind the scenes.
    3. Don't be afraid to sell-invite the sale, ask for the purchase!

    I was obviously guided to this video for a reason as only yesterday I decided to implement more crazy humour, vulnerability and openness in my business strategies going forward which is very exciting.
    What I got from this awesome look at branding is the importance of being self deprecating from and the way that I'm going to implement that is to incorporate more fun into how I do things going forward with rewards, events and words of appreciation.
    Thank you for your time and talent Marie, as fan-girly as it sounds I really do love your work!! 😃

    Marie! You're sensational, thank you for just being yourself. I would love it if you could answer this question: I've been incredibly lucky thus far and grown a business simply by 'reacting' to customer demands. I'm at the stage now where I've 'reacted' to everything, and I want to change gears and start 'creating' demand for new products etc. Could you please discuss this? Thank you so much! You're amazing!

    Marie you did it again! Thanks for the tips. I really like this series so please keep it up.
    I think the area that I need to improve in the most is being myself by letting my quirky personality shine. It's so easy to get caught up presenting yourself in the way you THINK is "professional" but ends up just being plain stiff and boring!

    Loved this, especially the being authentic and quirky in your brand. I would say as someone quite young and new in the industry, I naturally switch to 'professional' mode for people to take me seriously, so an interesting experiment will be next time I meet my clients to look at them as 'potential friends' I happen to work with, and see if I act differently.

    I loved the transparency! Marie, you've mentioned you're introverted, how do you manage to talk so well? I would love to do the same and I'm a fun person, but I struggle to come across that way if I have a speech or would do a video like this. Should I do a class or something?

    • @VindicatedEntertainment
      @VindicatedEntertainment 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actively practicing makes all the difference. She's been doing this for awhile. I've been working on my public speaking for the last five years. I used to be anxiety ridden, now I'm dancing at parties and talking in funny voices in front of 10 or so people, so there's definitely been improvement.

    • @entrepreneurtimes.4120
      @entrepreneurtimes.4120 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most introvert are very good public spekers as long as they know themselves that they are introvert, what you need to do is sharpen areas that you know that your not good at speaking such as confidence and you will get that by practising, start by find where people have some sort of an event and ask if you can get a chance to speak something and even if they say no, be there and be the person who ask questions whenever possible, remember Practise dont make perfect but make PERMANENT in no time you will start to gain confidence and you will be best than no one you can think of. you can also read The Art of Public Speaking by Dale. Hope i will see you one day on certain stage.

    • @pdwhalen
      @pdwhalen 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am quite introverted and stayed that way through 30 years of corporate training development and delivery. First thing to do is discover your behavioral tendencies and strengths. Complete a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) evaluation. Then compete the Strengths Finder assessment. I hadn’t set out to be a presenter and I’m not the most talented, but I’m am extremely effective. I took every speech class available in college. The repeated requirement of speech design, writing and presentation really helped me control my stage fright. I also joined Toastmasters and learned ‘bigly’ about types of presentations, structures, timing and honest critiques. I got to the point where I won speech of the year. I still get nervous before a speech or presentation but I recognize my physical reactions and can work them into positive energy. As the other replies suggest, repeated practice gives the highest gain. I recently did a eulogy for my father...my God, was I scared to death, no pun intended. I practiced that speech many, many times until I had it memorized. That was my trick throughout the years; memorization with an intended freedom of delivery to give a strong flavor of extemporaneous delivery. Knowing the content beyond perfection allows me to make little alterations, jokes, comments in the delivery on the fly. Im happy to share anything and everything I know. You ask the questions and I will give you answers...then you do the work. Pdwhalen@gmail.com. Good luck and never give up. Ever.

      Think about what a big corporation is looking for. They aren't trying to see how to use Twitter they would be looking for how to use Twitter to follow 5,000 people at once or auto reply to my followers etc... Think bigger scale. How to send 500,000 emails versus how to send 500 emails.

    I JUST received a kind but firm reprimand for being open about my failings on a portrait I just made. I was also very clear about what I learned from that mistake but a good friend told me that it will only make people more critical. I thought it would point out that I'd improved. In one evening I figured out how to draw better portraits! Is it wrong to share a failing right when it happens? Should I wait until I've made some progress?

    I love your parting words--so inspiring!
    This was an entertaining and instructive video.
    I will say the shirt company is an example of "know your audience" if you're branding--who will connect with your brand? If I read about parties and "s---" I'd be totally turned off from a brand. To my ear, it sounds lazy and juvenile, not fresh, and like a company that has atrocious customer service. But I'm not the audience for the shirts so it doesn't matter. To their audience, I'm sure that feels edgy and fresh.

    LoL...*))) How I love these synchronicities. I seem to have a strange voice. I personally find my voice normal. I hear myself a lot on recordings and videos, so I know how my voice sounds. Since I even make a living through my voice, it is very important to me, of course.
    But often people tell me that they really had to get used to my voice. That they have never heard a voice like mine and that my voice sounds really strange. Instead of becoming insecure about my voice, I meanwhile really appreciate that my voice seems to be so strange for a lot of people, because it's my trade mark...*)))

      Start posting everyday for 30 days! You will learn a lot. I can honestly tell you until you try something and put yourself out there you will not get feedback (good or bad) to know what to do next. Your audience will tell you what they want to see. For TH-cam Tags, Titles, Descriptions and Raw Meta Data are all good places to start :)

    I think the first thing I have to do is write about myself.

      I'm pretty much at the same stage for my business, what areas of your story are you going to focus on?

      Hmm That is a question that has been super hard for me because I know where I want to be but I am still trying to see how everything connects. And in a way it all does because I am a photographer who does transformation/makeover photoshoots as well as weddings/engagements, who has a fashion/design background but I am in love with beauty/health. In a way all of these things are directly related to inner and outer expression of love.

      That sounds really special. Personally, I've found lesson taught by Simon Sinek on "Start With Why" really helpful in these situations. When you check the chance, watch his TED Talk here on TH-cam :)
