    You have some great paper storage ideas and I can see them as being useful for collections of small cookbooks that don't have writing on the spines or sheet music. Thinking outside the box. Now I have to see if I have a suitable punch! Lol Thanks for sharing.

    Tracy, Thanks, Thanks, Thanks! I have been trying to figure out a better way to store all my paper collections - currently zipped up in those clear plastic bags - ugly and inconvenient. Now all I have to do it cut off two sides and make a tab. Thanks for sharing this great idea - I am off to organize....

    Thanks for the helpful storage ideas. Maybe now I will get my paper out of the closet in art bins and use your storage ideas!

    Paper storage is my nemesis... every time I think I have it the way it will work for me, it laughs and says "tricked ya!" One day I'll get it right *

    Found this video and love this idea! Wondering how it stood the test of time? I think I would like to try this with my papers and paper pads.

    Here's a thought...put a small piece of wood in the back of the cube to make a "stop" so that your papers don't go too far back into the cube. Love your system. I have maybe a 1/3 of the paper you have. This is a good time for me to start the process of organizing my papers.

    Whee! I love your videos :) I have a suggestion if you don't mind; about placing a "stop" behind the vertical scrapbook papers to prevent them from being pushed back too far. I do this with books on the shelf, too, when I want things (OCDish) to be all presented at the same visual spine forward. Place a little box, a piece of wood, even a piece of styrofoam (pretty covered, of course with fabric, lol, even though no one will see it) at the back of the storage unit- size will depend on where you want the fronts of the papers with those fabulous tabs to stay.

    I absolutely adore the ziploc bag idea! I have started using them but I was having the same issues as you - how to store them without them flopping all over the place. Thank you!

    Thanks for the great ideas! Do you ever purchase complete collections or did I miss that part? Like for example, all of a Bo Bunny or Prima collection with embellishments and all different size paper pads? If so, how do they get stored?

    Such a great idea !! But does your paper slouch if it's not totally full ? Do I make sense lol !! Thanks for sharing

    Have you considered putting a piece of foam or similar in the back of your paper storage so you won't push it in way too far and having to pull them back out again all the time? :)

    MercyTiara, the folder that you made with the chipboard, what glue or tape runner did you use to join the 8 1/2 X11 paper to the chipboard? I love this video and might have to scrap lift some ideas to organize my paper, which I have SO much of.

    • @mercytiara
      @mercytiara  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Carol Caldwell I used regular tape runner, I think it was ATG :)

    What is the #1 thing I learned from this? I have way too much paper lol! Thanks for sharing. I am def going to think on some of your ideas.

    • @mercytiara
      @mercytiara  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Jennifer Harkema lol, do you have more than me? I always see people saying they have way too much paper, and when I look at mine, I really don't feel like I have "too much". I feel like I have a solid stash considering how often I scrap. I don't think any amount of paper is too much as long as you have it organized and stored in a way that you can know what you have and find it when you need it.

    • @jenniferharkema9273
      @jenniferharkema9273 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +MercyTiara yes I have a lot more then you. My problem is I worked in a scrapbook store for like five years so I accumulated quite a collection of paper and it was back when emb's weren't such a big deal and before there were whole "collections". But I think you are right, I am going to go thru it and only get rid of the stuff I don't like and know I won't use and then do a little bit of reorganizing.

    what cubes are these please? I am just starting a system and I am up in the air between cubes and the Ikea system. I like how you did the paper for sure! I guess I could use both...but I know there are more than one type of cube system. Hoping these are Michael's.....as I can buy one at a time on sale.... also, this is juts paper right, no chipboard or 6x6 pads, etc? where did you find the large Zip lock bags? Sandy

    • @mercytiara
      @mercytiara  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +521LakeStreet yep, they're the Michaels ones! Some of them are the old "jetmax" branded ones and some are the newer "recollections" ones. They have served me well through Many reconfigurations... but I've heard from some people that they fall apart after awhile. I've had some of mine for almost 10 years, so maybe it depends how much you fill them? The IKEA system is definitely sturdier but I liked being able to slowly grow my cubes as I can afford more rather than investing a lot of money at once in the IKEA ones. Good luck and let me know what you decide to go with

    May I ask where you buy you paper? I'm new to scrapbooking/card making, so I'm trying to see what is the best to use.

      +Tina Rehs some of my paper has come from design teams I've been on, but when I buy paper these days I usually order from paperissues.com. They have wonderful service reasonable prices and the best paper lines. There are lots of other options for buying paper - I've ordered from Emma's paperie and Simon says stamp as well. I like scrapbook.com but usually can't afford their shipping to Canada. I hope that helps!

    Great idea and I love your videos. I did ask this question on another video but I thought I would ask again in more details. I live in Ontario and I find ordering paper on line from the U.S. Is very expensive. I am wonder where you purchase the collections from, for example the cut girl collection. I would love to purchase it. Thanks for taking the time and making videos. I look forward to watching all your videos.

      +Kelly Bell hi Kelly, sorry I didn't get back to your question before. There is a scrapchat from maybe Mayish that talks about shopping in Canada. I'll find the link for you tonight. I shop at Paper Isuues and use a coupon code to make shipping more affordable. I also shop Simon says stamp when there is a coupon to help offset the shipping. The Cute Girl collection that you mention, I received for some contract work I do for SCT Magazine. The kits I used to share from the Scraptastic kit club were also product I received for design team work that I did for them. I'll link the scrapchat video that talks about stores later tonight. Hope that helps!

      scrappin' great deals is in Ontario. I just checked and they do have the cute girl collection. Shipping is reasonable, if you are too far to pick it up.

      +MercyTiara thank you for answering my question. Sorry to keep asking but do u have to pay duty when you order from Simon says stamp, I order from Joanne's craft store and to cost a lot more than I thought it was going to be when I received my credit bill. I am scared to order on line now.
