I liked how they showed Peter mourning over Gwens death and then showed him eventually getting over it. To me thats one of my favorite things about spider-man; yea he goes through a lot of shit in his life but he always comes out the other end still (at least somewhat) positive and cracking his jokes. Unlike other characters who lose someone and then quit for 8 years (cough cough batman)

Still, if the death of your parents that happened when you were a child was enough to motivate you to fight crime well into your adulthood one would think thatd still motivate you, or motivate you more to continue crime fighting. But the real difference between Peter and Bruce in this is that Peter listened to Aunt May when she tried to help him move on, Bruce kicked Alfred out
This movie was so underwhelming. The only things I liked would be the special effects, new Spidey outfit, some comic relief scenes and Gwen's predicament. Everything else felt so rushed and under developed.
I agree. Though the special effects for the Green Goblin were really really bad. I noticed it in the trailer as well, but it just looks so fake. I think it's because he's moving so fast and they are animating his face entirely. Though Electro seemed really well done and he doesn't wear a mask, so I honestly don't know what the issue was...

We technically got the Sinister 6 in NWH. 1)Mysterio 2)Doctor Octopus 3)Green Goblin 4)The Lizard 5)Electro 6)Sandman. Granted, Mysterio was not in the lineup but was integral to the plot (and is what led to the villains being here)

1) During the Gwen falling scene, the web looked like a hand stretching out.
2) Although their friendship didn't evolve, I really did feel like these two were friends.
3) Although some people would prefer Peter to be nerdier, I feel like in the Amazing films, he is a more realistic teenager than Tobey Maguire's performance. He genuinely feels like someone of about my age.
Jeremy Jahns, I agree with you that one of the negatives of the film was Peter and Harry's rushed friendship. I would have liked to have seen more scenes of them hanging out or talking/texting.
Norman can still be alive since we never did see him die nor his corpse.
The Green Goblin's scenes didn't feel out of place for me. His introduction was short however you cannot compare him to Venom in Spider-Man 3 nor the Joker in the Dark Knight. Those villains were meant to be the main villains. The symbote (not Venom) was meant to be the main villain to my knowledge and it was.
Electro, not the Green Goblin is the primary villain of the Amazing Spider-Man 2. The Green Goblin was only a secondary villain, the 2 Face of the Dark Knight if you will. The film is even called The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro in some countries.
If the film had ended with Peter mourning Gwen it would have been such a depressing ending. Spider-Man isn't Batman (not that the Batman always has depressing endings). The film ended with the theme of hope and strength and that is a good proper way to end a Spider-Man movie.
Furthermore, had the film ended with Peter mourning Gwen's death and returning to fighting crime as Spider-Man in the next film, it would seem like a copy of the Dark Knight and the Dark Knight Rises.

Actually since the sinister is supposedly the next movie which is a stand alone film without spider-man, it would've made complete and total logical sense to end the movie the way Jeremy mentioned. Would give motivation for the amazing Spider-Man 3 for spider-man to come out retirement and fight the sinister for new york. Which would also be the perfect moment to introduce the symbiot for spider-man so that he could lose at the end and than they could actually have a reason to have a proper venom spin off which would lead into uou guessed it spider-man 4. Time line would have made sense and the proper motivation would've been given to the characters and the future films.
I've read the Sinister Six film is suppose to come out before the Amazing Spider-Man 4 but there is no mention before 3. The 3rd film is set to be released in theaters in 2016 so unfortunately I don't think we'll get the Sinister Six or Venom next year.
Bad things have happen to Spider-Man often times but he still has never been a dark character nor a depressing one and ending the film with Gwen's death and Spider-Man retiring is depressing.
I very much like the film ended with the theme of hope. That Spider-Man was able to begin moving on with his life and return to saving lives. It is more fitting for a Spider-Man film to end like that than to end with Gwen Stacy dying and Peter retiring.
Furthermore, that would seem like Sony was copying the Dark Knight since that would be the exact same situation: the superhero's love interest dies and he retires (even though we didn't know Batman retired until the beginning of 3rd film).

My primary intention was to respond to Jeremy's statements. Advertising my channel was secondary.
I'm okay with what they did with Green Goblin for a few reasons. 1) Even though he was only the Goblin at the end, the rest of the movie devoted time to developing Harry and giving him a reason to become a villain, 2) unlike Venom in SM3, he survived, meaning he will come back later on, and 3) killing Gwen really solidifies him as Peter's nemesis, which will lead to an awesome dynamic between the two in the next movie.

+Braxton Smith I think the actress looked fine. Her, like most other female comic book characters, really only have a really sexy look because of artistic design, which I don't mind (especially Power Girl. Goddamn, those thighs and breasts), but she was probably picked because the super sexy suit she wears in the comics would look out of place in these movies, so they really didn't need to have someone with those proportions.

You've spun your last web, Sony. If you had not been so selfish and allowed Marc Webb to control the artistic and dramatic aspects of his Amazing Spider-Man movies, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would of been considered a real movie, full-blooded and smart, with qualities even for those who have no idea who Stan Lee is. But now you've really ticked me off because The Amazing Spider-Man 3 got scrapped.

I don't think Web screwed up much, the REAL flaw is hiring 4 freaking screenwriters, none of which seems to know what he's doing. The directing wasn't really that bad, but whatever the script was suppesed to be id definitely was screwed up.
Zero the Faceless I think Hectorferjr2 didn't mean to say that it was Webb's fault, but Sony's. As I read it, he meant that if Sony WOULD HAVE given him more or all of the artistic control, it would have been better. But because Sony wanted to copy the way Marvel Studios build up their movies, and wanted to set up all the subsequent movies, they screwed Webb's vision up... and also screwed up their chance of proving that they can make a good Spider-Man movie.

this movie was lame specifically the villains. "Oh my god, spider-man's on tv and i'm not so ima start killing every body" that's such a dumb conflict. Rhino was useless and goblin was in it for 2 seconds and he didn't even do anything sure he killed gwen but whatever. Spiderman need a different director and different writers

Not perfect, there were a few other issues, like the lack of development between Harry and Peter.

I agree that there were many things that could have been done a lot better, but it would have been a 5 hour movie if it was done perfectly. (Honestly, I would be totally fine with seeing a 5 hour Spidey movie.) But, when it comes to the things that this movie did well, they did them really well. And cutting things out of the movie that we see in the trailer is kinda common when it comes to the Spider-Man movies. Even in the originals, half of the trailers weren't even in the film. It bugs me, sure, but I get over it if the movies are done well.

Green Goblin is definitely my favorite villain. He's pretty much Spidey's Joker; he looks ridiculous, yet he's freakin' dangerous.
Even though I love both the Raimi and Webb series (and they both have their faults and advantages), my main problem with the Webb series is that Webb seems to be forgetting that even though he's trying to make a huge franchise, each one of these movies have to also stand alone as its own movie.
You can't just have every movie open ended with so many strings left untied. This movie was pretty much 70% its own/ 30% setting up for the Sinister Six movie. Although I'm psyched for the Sinister Six movie, I would like to see a Spidey film that feels fully developed, capable of being its own film, and leaves me eager to see the franchise in its entirety.
Yeah, my biggest problem with this film is it doesn't feel like a stand alone film but that you would NEED to watch this in one sitting with the third film that will come out.
This is in contrast to what films like the Iron Man Trilogy, Batman Trilogy, and other superhero films in general have done which is, focus on making it stand alone and really only leave the end to tie into another film.

That Gwen Stacy death scene was pretty powerful stuff and very emotional. They did a pretty good job. Every Spiderman fans who have read the comics need to experience that scene.
The part when Gwen dies was pretty dam emotional, I may have cried a little. But overall it adds so much more to the movie, despite how depressing the ending was. In the Tobey Maguire movies, MJ was kidnapped and rescued every time so it never really felt like his loved ones were actually in trouble. Here though Peter constantly sees Gwen's father and is reminded of his promise that he fails to keep. Even though he's Spiderman he can't always save the day :' )

Totally get your point about the govlin Jeremy but I disgree man, I think having him kill Gwen made a great ending to the movie and serves as the beginning of the Goblins story. We know hes coming back in a big way and thats awesome! If he wouldve been killed off right after, I woulda been on your side of wasting him but because they made This his intro, it works for me. Your right about the abrupt change in Harry and it probably looked bad in the script but I think the chemistry between dehaan and Garfield made it work and DeHaan pulled the change off in only a few scenes, I really loved the movie and I get your points man Great Vid as always!

I agree with you. Dane Dehann, with that 6-8 minutes of screen time, made a better Goblin then Dafoe. He was absolutely incredible. For a minute I thought he was gonna die when he was getting choked by the web. I was like god please don't kill this amazing character off in the movie he's introduced in but they didn't and I'm so pumped to see what Dane brings to the table in the next movie. Highlight of the movie for me.
I think the sinister six movie will be the sixth movie in this new franchise after the venom movie.
It makes sense to have Gwen's death be the first thing the Goblin does in my view. Goblin in the books did nothing of note until he got her killed. AFTER that is when he becomes Spiderman's nemesis. He'll come back for the other movies and now it'll make sense to have him be the arch enemy because he is responsible for something so tragic.

ReeferInferno It also makes sense from a story perspective, though. It's a basic three-arc structure (origin, crisis, redemption). His life is sucking at this point, and in the next film, we'll explore his recovery. Plus, there's no reason to include Gwen Stacy in a film if you're not going to kill her. See: Spider-Man 3.

I don't think the Goblin was treated like Venom. Raimi straight up killed Venom after his 12 minutes of screen time. Spider-Man simply defeated the Green Goblin leaving him alive. Which makes sense given how little experience Harry actually has with fighting Spider-Man.

It's not that the Goblin himself was wasted that it's the problem. It's that the death of Gwen Stacy was ruined, because of how little development that conclusion got beforehand. That's the problem.
I don’t think the main problem was the final battle. The main problem was how Harry’s story was rushed, especially his relationship with Peter. If Harry was introduced as Peter’s friend in the first movie, this would’ve been avoided.
My favorite villain really was Electro. Seeing him on the big screen was just incredible. I also feel Green Goblin wasn't "shoe-horned" in this movie, just teased. Besides, Dehaan played a better Goblin in 5 minutes than James Franco did in a full movie.

Heath Ledger's Joker wasn't very comic based but he did great. Andrew Garfield showed he can do drama. He did fantastic with multiple heart wrenching scenes.

Yea it should have been but they had to do the X-men thing so they put it into the movie it didn't bother be too much because im already getting excited about the future movies.
google the deleted scenes which sounded awesome - including goblin shooting up Oscorp, killing Menken but sparing Felicia, and Goblin laughing at Gwen's death before being beaten half to death by Spider-Man. Sigh, this could have been a 9/10 with those scenes and the other cuts put back in (MJ's scenes and Harry telling Peter Oscorp has kept him under surveillance) while cutting the secret lab scene and saving it for the next one, so Peter ends this with Gwen dead, Harry turned against him, and believing is parents ran away for the money.
For the most part I agree, but not with having MJ's scenes remain in the finished film. A) It wouldn't make the death of Gwen so important if Peter had someone to turn to right away. B) In pictures taken on set Shailene Woodley is UGLY as heck. They need a new actress.
they only introduced her, just like they introduced felicia hardy, so it wouldn't have detracted from Gwen - it just established the fact the character exists. but yeah, i don't know if she was on her way to make up in those set photos, but she looked like the guy out of the commitments (the singer with the long red hair). which is strange, seeing as she's quite pretty usually.

Yeah I agree 100%, took the words right out of my mouth. The biggest problem comic book movies have is that they keep trying to progress the movies in the same manner as a comic book. You can't do that, because reading is a lot different from watching, the brain processes at different paces to gather everything. With movies you have to focus on one or two things at a time.

This is how I feel it should have ended:
Okay so Gwen's dead from the green goblin and peter is depressed. He stops being spiderman. Then one day aunt May says "Peter I have someone here dying to meet you" the mysterious someone walks in peters door. Peter looks up and the someone says "Hi. I'm Mary Jane" BEST. MOTHERTRUCKING. ENDING. EVERRRRR!!!!!!!!

***** Peter and MJ shouldn't go out until the end of ASM 3. They should be introduced as classmates or neighbors or something and then Peter decides to move on with his personal life in the end and ask her out on a first date. But given the pandering assembly-line nature of the filmmaking of this series, a forced relationship will probably happen in the middle of ASM 3.

I actually agree. Green Goblin was, in my opinion, Peter's greatest villain because he attacked Peter not only physically but tried to do so psychologically. Which made for an interesting villain, always trying to figure out how to hurt Peter best. The one thing the other Spiderman 1 films got right when it came to Norman Osborn.

Venom and Carnage. Venom always beat the shit out of Spidey for the sheer hell of it AND trash talked him while doing so, and then when Carnage came along, both Venom and Spidey had to team up to beat him because in a one vs one battle, Carnage just dunked them both into the ground.
My favorite bad guy is Sam Rami's version of doc oc.
Dude the way the web formed a hand reaching for Gwen during that death scene was a beautiful touch man really added to the gravitas.
I love the idea of Norman being around when Harry becomes the Goblin (and Norman wasn't ever the Goblin) and him being like "yeah that's my boy."
I loved the movie but I agree with Jeremy on the ending Rhino scene shouldn't have happened. I would've rather the movie end with a depressed Peter Parker and a retired Spider-Man

Naia Kirra Yep. I would've. It's clear by the end that Spider-Man was gone for a while, but for us the viewer, it was about 1 minute. It would've been much cooler if it ended with a retired Spider-Man and we would actually "live" without Spider-Man until he comes back in the next movie. That and I just thought the tone was perfect when Gwen died, and then in 2 minutes they attempt to make it all cheery again and everything ends happy. Why is it that movies always have to end happy... it just basically ruined the death of Gwen and destroys all tension in the movie. Why do we care to watch them then? I now know I'll go in to Amazing Spider-Man 3 and who cares about anything that happens, it'll all end cheery.

It would have been an awesome build up, but if the Rhino wasn't there, and the movie ended with a retired Spiderman, the whole movie would have just been a build-up. I hope in The Amazing Spiderman 3 he finds completely the whole story of his past, cuz it sure is getting old.

Rhino in this movie was just the worst acting I have ever seen in a Spiderman movie...

It wasn't bad acting, it was that the character was made to be cartoony as Jeremy pointed out. Rhino is the stereotypical dumb muscle, so the movie portrayed that by having the character be...cartoony for lack of a better word.
So they actually filmed different scenes Gwen's death. One of them was the Goblin actually snapping her neck with his hands, but they said it would be to violent for a pg 13 movie. Another one they filmed is that Gwen dies by hitting the ground and after peter goes to her body you hear the Goblin laughing and spiderman goes over and beats the shit out of him, but agian they said it would be too violent for a pg 13 movie. Honestly both of these scenes would have been a lot better than the goblin getting knocked out by some pipes. But all in all it was a good movie. And did anyone else notice when he shot his Web at Gwen the end of it forms a hand.
I think TDK was probably the best in terms of introducing villains. I really loved ASM2 though; it was a shitload better than I thought it was gonna be (and I already had high hopes).

Ok, NOW I see where you're coming from Jeremy. I'm glad you put out this Spoiler video.. because honestly, for a second there you had quite a couple people confused about your issues with the film..but I know you were trying to give a cohesive review without spoiling anything. Anyway, yeah the Green Goblin is like Spider-Man's joker more than any other villain, but the problem is if they made him the main villain, all the numbskulls would scream "RIPOFF of Spider-Man 1!" And they wanted a different villain like Electro to take the forefront. I always knew Green Goblin was gonna be in the sequel in some way since Gwen was gonna die.. but I knew he wouldn't be the main villain.. and that's actually okay imo.. because we got that gradual character development with Harry Osborn descending into Green Goblin. I have to say, this is the BEST Character development for the Goblin in a spider-man movie, Ever! Willem Dafoe just became Green Goblin, and had no character development. James Franco had a lot of development, but his Goblin, Jr. was so lame and a pushover. So don't worry, you'll see alot more Goblin in the future films, since he seems to be the brains behind the Sinister Six now, along with Mr. Fierce

But Most of the kudos goes to the actor himself: Dane Dahaan.. you can take any ordinary or mediocre script and make it excellent if you got the acting chops. Since Willem Dafoe had no character development except to be the asshole father who becomes Spidey's first villain, I'm comparing Dane with James Franco. And yeah.. James Franco was definitely likeable.. but I could never hate him, or see reason to hate him. He was just a poor illegitimate son who wanted to seek revenge for his father who didn't love him well. Not really a great villain origin lol. Even though I hated SM3.. I laughed when Tobey Maguire as Peter said "Oh lol.. look at lil Goblin, Jr.. you gonna cry?" HAHA! And I barely laugh at the lines the old spider-man said.

I liked Peter Parker and Gwen in this one, but i really felt like the villains had such bad stories. Electro was just this cliche and generic guy with an inferiority complex who then just got mad for appearently no reason. And I liked Harry at first, but then he also just became mad for no reason, boom, Goblin. Not the greatest.

I loved the movie. I just kind of wished the Goblin fight lasted longer. Also, the put way too much shit in the trailers. I can piece together the entire plot with each of the trailers. Still the best one so far.

1. Spiderman 2 (10/10, Awesometacular {Tobey Maguire is the perfect Peter Parker})
2. Spider-man 1 (9/10, Awesometacular)
3. Spider-man 3 (8/10, Buy on Bluray {apart from Venom, symbiote, emo Pete - Sandman's story was really good, especially the scene when he becomes the sandman with the locket} )
4. Amazing Spider-man (7/10, Buy on Bluray {Andrew was a great Spider-man, shit Peter Parker, ok plot line})
5. Amazing Spider-man 2 (5/10, Good time if you're drunk {story was sloppy as hell, but it looked amazing - visually perfect})
6. Amazing Spider-man 3 (3/10, Good time if you're drunk {story was sloppy as hell, but it looked amazing - visually perfect})

rhino scene shouldnt have existed and green goblin felt wasted and electro was alright but felt un needed . but i liked this movie alot its one of the rare times i will say the romance part was better than the action and the gwen thing was so well done. they all are amazing actors especially dane dehaan. it wasnt as good as it couldve been but i loved it and will probably see it again. it doesnt deserve all this hate

Shotta Tkhelidze I refute a point. Spiderman didn't give his blood for 'no' reason. It's risky to give his blood and can kill the guy.
I blame a majority of the problems with this film on Sony. They're the ones who are pushing a sinister six film, and they're the ones who hired the writers who handed Marc Webb this script. They can also be blamed for how Spider man 3 turned out because Sam Raimi was quoted as saying that he was very disappointed with the way spider man 3 turned out because Sony had forced him to include venom in that movie even though he never even wanted to do the black suit story arc. If Sony would just back the fuck off and let Marc Webb do his own thing, I think he truly could make a great spider man movie instead of this one which in my opinion was only good.
I freakin love TASM2 but I agree with you, sony really needs to give it to Marc and let him roll with it. Another HUGE problem with the film is the marketing --again, Sony. They don't know when to put a cap on the footage they show.

I'm not a comic-reader, so can't come at this from that all-knowing perspective. That said, the trailers for this film had scenes and dialogue that never appeared in the final cut, but they were GREAT scenes and dialogue. Here are a couple that annoyed me by not appearing in the film:
- That conversation Harry and Norman have about the future, where Harry asks his father about Peter and Norman replies, "Not everyone can have a happy ending".
- Harry and Peter talking about Oscorp having Peter under surveillance. Hey, perhaps it's because they've clocked onto Peter using their web tech? Guess we'll never know since that scene's gone now.
- Mr. Fierce, presumably talking to Spiderman, declares, "We have great plans for you, Peter Parker." Where this line came from or what scene it was in is a complete mystery; all I know is that I was intrigued by that moment - and so many others - in the trailers and it never bloody happened in the film.
There are other examples...far too many other examples! The Amazing Spider-Man 2 looked fantastic in the trailer footage, but in the end - as a non-fan - I just found it average, especially when I compared to the latest Captain America.
And yes, the Green Goblin was criminally underused.
Loved this movie, but I do agree with the fact that Gwen's death and spidy's retirement would've made for a better cliff hanger for the next one. That would've made for a really dark ending though - esp for younger viewers.
Mine is Venom, but sadly he was misused on the last trilogy, and since I'm not familiar with the comics, I have no idea if he's even gonna make an appearance on the third film.
Although...
It doesn't need to be a trilogy, they could just end this story ark on the third, and begin a fourth with Venom. Not kill him, just defeat him, separate Eddie from the goo and lock the black stuff in a lab.
Then at the last scene Carnage shows up, teaser for the last one.
Then the fifth spidey and venom team up to take carnage.
That would be an epic ending for me :p

That Venom stand alone movie Sony is planning will probably be part of the Spidey-verse, although maybe not at the beginning but I am confident Sony will try to tie them up with ASM.
As for the story, I hope its Flash Thompson being Agent Venom, where he is like a spy agent and Super Soldier kind of thing except he is power up by the symbiote. That would make a cool premise, if done right.

1. My favorite Spider-Man villains are Doc Ock because of Spider-Man 2, The Green Goblin because of Spider-Man and this film, Venom because of Spider-Man Unlimited and Carnage because of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
*(WARNING: If you don't like reading, turn back as I accidentally made this longer than I intended.)*
2. I saw this movie recently, and while I personally prefer the first, this was still awesome, but I have a few ways to make it better:
*1. Get rid of the Rhino.* Make him the first character Spidey takes down, but make it seem like just a regular villain. Don't make him the Rhino until the next film, because it makes no sense here.
*2. Give Electro a reason to hate Spider-Man.* In the film, he kind of just starts hating Spider-Man, so here's an idea: How about when they're in Times Square and Spidey starts talking to him, the sniper fires and then people start throwing junk at him. Since Max/Electro is vulnerable at this point, he goes crazy and starts attacking everyone BUT Spider-Man. Spider-Man tries to stop him, but Electro just ignores him because he didn't do anything. Then later when Harry talks to Electro, maybe he feeds him lies like "Remember that sniper? Spider-Man sent him." And at first he doesn't believe him, but then he starts telling him stuff that sounds plausible (but are lies, obviously) and Electro starts thinking about it, then he helps Harry. THAT would give him a reason to hate him. He's going crazy and he's vulnerable because people hate him, so he starts to believe anything.
*3. Show some flashbacks to Harry's childhood.* Peter and Harry are believable friends, but they didn't show how they became friends. Show stuff like Harry being abused by his father giving reason to why he hates him, and then when his dad gets the disease (or when it comes into full effect), make Harry like 10 or a young teen so he spends a lot of life not seeing his father and the only memories he has are bad ones, and so when he goes to school or whatever he meets Peter and then they become friends. That would make them even more believable.
*4. Give Harry a better transformation.* When he injects himself with the venom, he instantly gets the full disease, which is odd. Why doesn't he inject himself, and after like 2 hours it does nothing (if anything it makes it worse), and so he injects himself again, over and over. The venom makes him sick and makes the disease work faster, and he starts going insane, so he goes after Spider-Man to get his blood because he still thinks it will work. Also I'm not sure they explain HOW he found out Peter was Spider-Man. I may be wrong as I don't quite remember everything, so yeah. Also I'm not sure they said how his family got the disease. Again, I may be wrong as I don't remember EVERYTHING and I never read the comics.
*5. Get rid of that stupid airplane scene.* I think it's supposed to add tension, but I feel that it's pointless.
*6. End it when he's not Spider-Man.* I agree with Jeremy on this. It was pointless, the thing where the kid runs in is cheesy, plus they just shoehorned in the Rhino at the last second. Just end it with news reports about the crime level going up, and then end it on him on that building, then pick it up from there in the 3rd film where he has to find a reason to become Spider-Man again, and then make time for the Rhino.
*6.5. Give Spider-Man the suit from the first film.* Ok this is more my opinion, but I personally think that the suit from the first film was cooler, plus in this film he looks like he's mostly CGi, unlike the 1st where there was CGi, but you mostly saw the actor in the suit or they made the suit look real, while here I could tell when the actor was in the suit and when it was just CGi. Again, my opinion, but I feel it would've made the film slightly better.
*7. What did Peter do with his dad's info?* They never really explained what he did with it when he found it. It was like, he found it, then poof, no need for it. Also I don't understand why he didn't care about his dad in this, as it looked like he did in the first film.
There, 7 ways the film could've been better. It was still awesome, don't get me wrong, but these things would've made it better, and I hope they can learn from this and make the 3rd film the best Spider-Man film ever.

I will agree fully that they rushed the ending. It would've been perfect had they had Peter having the conversation with Aunt May, then having the assembling of the sinister six, then credits. I still really enjoyed the movie and they handled Gwen's death really impressively, a lot of ppl in the theater were gasping when she hit the ground and it left an impression on people in the theater.

The Goblin played a very important part in this movie, everything kind of ended with him if you think about it because he was the one that freed electro, he pretty much helped kill Gwen, and he had a close relationship to Peter. His father knew Peter's father and having Goblin's father was important too because his father explained why he was the way he was and how the Goblin ended up being that way as well. If you really think about it at it's core, the Green Goblin was the most important villain in the movie because unlike Electro, he has personal ties with Peter and knew who he was. Electro only knew Spiderman and was angry because he felt betrayed by his hero, Goblin felt betrayed by not only his hero but also his best friend.
***** It wasnt the Green Goblin who did all those things, it was Harry Osborn. Unlike Bruce Wayne and his Alter Ego, Batman, Green Goblin and Harry Osborn are 2 different ppl completely. It is almost like a second personality of sorts. All the things you mentioned were done by Harry Osborn, and I'm cool with that, I just think they should have left the Goblin for the next movie. They shouldnt have showed the transformation, it just felt rushed IMO.

I thought the movie was great, the only thing i didnt like was yeah, Peter and Harry suddenly saw each other after like 10 years or something and then suddenly they're BFF's just chilling out at the lake and then the second you feel like they're really good friends- BOOOM. Yeah, the insta-switch was really odd, I did find them acting like friends again accurate though, thats how I am with my best friend. The switch though, that was weird, and in total contrast with how they were setting up their relationship.

It's not it was cut, they cut and changed a lot actually. I really don't think they know where they're going. Avi Arad is a terrible producer, he was largely responsible for Spider-Man 3. While it makes me sad to see these movies fall so much over the years, it's nice to see people easing up on Maguire and Raimi, and pointing blame at the one constant figure in this declining franchise.

Marvel has no say in what Sony and Fox does. They sold the movie rights, so Sony and Fox can pretty much do whatever they want.

I LOVED the movie! Best representation of the comic ever put in film. Spidey was funny, smart, and badass. electro looked awesome and was a little underused, Goblin was barely there and I was not the biggest fan of the design but it was a HELL of a lot better than MMPR costume Gobby from the Raimi film, Rhino however I thought was PERFECT. I went back and rewatched all the previous Spidey films afterward and came to the realization that the Raimi films are often viewed with Nostalgia goggles. NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS WE REMEMBER THEM!
They can't end the movie in a depressing way like that that's why they had spidey with that kid in the last scene to you make you have a feel good feeling after the Gwen's death. It was a simple cliffhanger idk why everyone all of a sudden has a thing for rhino he has always been treated as a joke
I'm surprised nobody mentionend,how they turned Rhino,from a guy with super-strenght and a super hardenend skin into a Battlemech/Gundam Suit,complete with mini-guns & missiles.
Instead of call ing rhino rhino they should have called him, this random dude that stole an ironman suit in the making and acted like a phyco path when he actually should be made from a rhino looking suit, hhuuhh that was alot to type
Great Talk Jeremy. I loved this movie too death Pun Intended. I do agree with some of the things you said. Hell I don't even think Electro's dead I think he'll be back as well. TAS3 might be over crowded Hopefully it's only Rhino, Black Cat, & Mysterio even though I wish the little whirl wind at the end was Shocker. I do believe it's The Master Of Elusion.
