I don't know how many years ago it was, maybe 15 years ago? I had just lost my job unexpectedly. I heard the guys were doing a mini concert at a Christian book store in my area. I was so discouraged and knew hearing them sing would be more than just entertainment. So I walked to the bus stop and waited for the bus, looking forward to hearing them and being lifted up. But the bus came by and didn't stop! I was so dismayed and stunned. As I fought tears, someone I barely knew pulled her car over near the bus stop and asked if I needed a ride somewhere. Praise the Lord! I was a little late but still got to hear plenty including Friend of God. Afterwards I went up and told them about losing my job and how their music reminded me that God is always in control and He is always working on my behalf.

My sister recently entered into paradise after a brief diagnosis of terminal cancer but shortly before she left us we discovered this song one night after remembering how our dad would swipe his finger under our crying eyes as kids and “catch” our tears to put in his imaginary bottle. The song When God Ran, touched the heart of my Husband so much that during the battle with brain cancer, Mike would say God ran to him, then brain cancer came back, so Mike ran into God's arms 10-30-2019. So this song speaks to my heart. Cause pain of Mike not being with me is hard. We were Married 49 year. So knowing the comfort of God precious to me
