@@rogerjohnson586 I played football and tried my very best to imitate him on the field. His time at the U was iconic. The amber visor is football lore. I went to his last College game when I was 13. He was my Goat before he even got drafted in the NFL. I was, and still am obsessed with the way he plays football.

As much as I love Sean Taylor, idt he is a HOFer. Yes he had the potential to definitely be a HOFer one day.. but 3.5 seasons isn’t enough..
He only played 3.5 seasons in the NFL, 55 games, his last season, when he got killed unfortunately, was his best with 5 int and should’ve had 8-9 but he dropped 3 against Farve/Packers but had 2 that game. But played 9 games, got hurt, then got killed the next weekend at his house a few days after it was broken into I believe.
Up until his 3rd season, he wasn’t a top 5 safety. He had top 5 Potential since day 1 but Potential doesn’t get you in the HOF. So he had 1.5 years as a top 5 safety, never being #1. B. Dawkins, Troy P, just to name a couple above him. He was just becoming the player that the potential showed his last season. If he was able to keep playing at that level for 5-10 more seasons, he probably would be in the HOF.. but he wasn’t able to.
Yes he should be in Redskins HOF, and he is now thankfully, but NFL HOF, no. Unfortunately because his life was cut so short in the beginning of his career..
If he played out his career, i believe the answer would be yes but unfortunately he lost his life after only 3.5 seasons and us never knowing is part of the tragedy of him losing his life so young…

I remember the day ESPN reporter he was killed smh. This is very sad still. The people they hurt. The hate and jealousy.

This was sad. However, the guy said no other player was more impactful for the Redskins than Sean Taylor... Even more impactful than Doug Williams.
