Bird strike alone is not nearly enough to explain the lack of gear, flaps, slats AND spoilers. But the reverser door is open. Why only 7 minutes from bird strike to crash? Did they do the check lists? Did they think they were on fire? Did they panic? Let's have the ATC audio immediately. Blancolirio has an excellent video on what we know so far. And it does raise a lot of questions... which the media aren't asking.
Technology has still not taken its advanced step in creating safe landing. Why blame the bird hitting? Can a bird destroy the whole plane?! It's been many years of blame on birds. Aviation has to research passenger safety in many ways, like automatic parachute opening while accidents are over the sea that even acts like tyre to float, fireproof jackets and airbags to protect each and every passenger while crashing in accidents. Automatic separation of seats landing that separates from the engine: if a fire breaks out, there should be an automatic fire extinguisher.
How about spaceflight suits? Passengers wouldn't have to walk to the bathroom. Crying children wouldn't be heard due to their helmet and passengers's helmets. That idea just might work... unless the plane hits a block wall, and there's a huge explosion, and then there's fire. Even a fireproof safe won't protect its contents forever. Planes need landing gear and flaps to land safely. Boieing.... HELLO.
Birds are a constant menace around airports and military airfields. They often request federal or local wild life groups to assist in removing any flocks or nests from around the perimeter of the airfield so air traffic is not hindered. This bird strike appears to have occurred inflight of which nothing could have been done about it. In some cases, it can have a disastrous results like this. Aircraft are flying so fast, a bird would be a blur out the window to the pilots. Once the cockpit recorder/black box is examined then they can begin investigating.
Nobody is talking about the fact that the airport placed that aggregate at the end of the runway to protect the electrical/power substation they built less than 100 yards from the end of that runway. If the plane had landed in the opposite direction they would have survived even if they slid past the end of the runway (on that end).
Modern planes are designed to mitigate risks such as bird strike. This cannot be the reason for the landing gear failure. May the truth come out and provide justice to all the lost lives! 🙏🏼

I have had over 2 dozen bird strikes in my life. No single bird strike will bring down an airliner. An airline jet is configured for landing way before this "bird strike" happened.... that means slats and flaps are set for landing and the landing gear is already down usually at least 5 miles before the runway and half a mile high. This airplane landed with the landing gear UP and no slats or flaps deployed which means their problems happened way before this supposed "bird strike" which occurred shortly before landing. The black boxes will tell all... this airplane had a massive, possibly total hydraulic failure or other massive, abnormal severe mechanical malfunction which prohibited the airplane from landing safely. This was not the pilots' fault they had a very, very serious problem on their hands and they did the best they could. Cannot rule out hijacking either at this point. SOMETHING seriously wrong happened on this plane and it wasn't just "pilot error".
Currently, South Korea is, in effect, engaged in a silent war with China. The Democratic Party of Korea has allegedly infiltrated many government institutions with Chinese and North Korean spies. It seems highly probable that they may attempt to damage the "black box." Landing gear is usually put down long before the plane reaches the airport. If the bird strike happened near the airport, then the gear and flaps would have already been prepared. Hopefully, the black box will provide answers.
Undercarriage didn't open while sliding. Must be hydraulic failure. Aircraft designers should have provided redundant fail safe, if the engine blown out had entire hydraulic supply.
Undercarriage can be dropped manually using gravity and the airflow. The pilots had to have chosen to land with the undercarriage raised (or somehow forgot to lower it). This would be done if the plane had no engine thrust and the pilot thought the plane wouldn't reach the runway. The undercarriage creates a lot of drag when down.
It looked to me that after a bird strike the Pilot panicked. The plane landed going the wrong way and almost at the end of the runway. It looks like he only had the last 1000 feet of runway and had his gear up with possibly no flaps since he was going to fast for them to deploy. My guess is they screwed up.
Aviation Authorities have look into and take massive steps against today s Air ✈️️disaters happening in week. This is high time now. For safety of passengers
Why is there a massive concrete wall at the end of the run way??? It is usally steel or metal fences to stop civilian but not a bloody reinforced concrete wall?!?!
So a engine#2 failure disabled flaps and landing gears? What about the engine#1? Engine 1 drives hydraulic sys A (HSA) and eng2 drives HSB, so HSB is disabled. However, HSA drives the landing gear extension sys and HSA/HSB drive flight controls. They had directional control, so HSA was working, so why couldn’t the gears come down? HSB and stand-by hydraulic sys (HSS) drive the flaps. Was HSS also disabled? There’s plenty of redundancy in the hydraulic sys, the fact they had flight control shows at least one hydraulic sys was working.

It looks like this is going to be one of those tragic situations where there is no one cause of the disaster. No one component of the accident caused the crash; it was a combination of several things happening in sequence. Firstly, a bird strike in one engine of a multi-engined plane should not cause a crash; this Boeing should have been able to fly and land with one engine. Secondly, it's been reported that when a member of the flight crew intended to shut down the bird-damaged engine, he accidentally shut down the one WORKING engine! Then there's the fact that the pilot chose to land coming from the wrong direction on the runway. Normally, if a pilot must abort the initial landing, they will completely circle around and make a second attempt from the same direction as the first attempt. There's also a question as to why the landing gear wasn't/couldn't be lowered. No landing gear caused a loss of control during the landing and almost definitely caused the plane to need more linear footage to come to a stop. Lastly, there's the mound/barrier that was at the end of the runway. Was it thought that it being there would never be an issue because it was at what is supposed to be the appoach end of the runway?
I assume the broken engine prevented the plane from pulling up as the pilots discovered the landing gear problem. This would have given ground crews enough time to foam up a long emergency runway and rally firefighting crews.
Or a drone from a cluster drone swarm from carrier drone units. Curious who was on that plane like the one Russia shot down few days ago. Lots of planes going down. Another caught fire today on a runway.
Can someone please tell me how a bird can cause engine malfunction. I think a bird must be too small to cause such fatalities nowadays in aviation. The engines are that week to be destroyed by a bird or its something else not the engine? This can not carry on! I have always wondered why a plan has to crush, are there no other ways to avoid like nose diving of the plain or some sort of safety features in aviation. Its very sad because i am an engineer and i feel like i can do a lot but can these profit centered airplane manufacturers take any advice?

The landing itself was pretty good although touch down was a little too far down the runway, even with there had been landing gear.. But if there were no flaps, that is a different scenario. And the wall at that end of the runway should not have been there in any case.
There is so many water bodies near this airport! Pilot could have crash landed in water instead to save passengers. If it was water landing, very few people would have died. Careless pilot.
@@alibarisa2778 but landing gears failed to open. So i think water might have been safer as no explosion would occur. I think that would have atleast saved 50% of lives.

Boeing: Its all the bird's fault!
@@annaczgli2983
Ridiculous. The plane has been in service for over 15 years. You still gonna blame Boeing for everything?

Small missile.... It's not a bird it's lightly bigger than a pen 🖊️
drone, there was thousands of them flying in USA recently
Something's off. A bird strike is often not fatal.
Why can't the passenger area be detached before any such accident??
Aviation Authorities have look into and take massive steps against today s Air ✈️️disaters happening in week.
This is high time now. For safety of passengers
How was there only one lonely bird?
Boeing need to make a statement after 3 hydraulic failures within 2 days. Couldnt just let the media do the talking.
Why is there a massive concrete wall at the end of the run way??? It is usally steel or metal fences to stop civilian but not a bloody reinforced concrete wall?!?!
This is god clearing up the mess humans are making
Learn to question TOI, you are journalists. It's landing gear failure, maintenance fault.
Cant the aircraft designers do something to ward off the birds. It is so bad that so many people had to die because of few birds.
@@commonman-20 the birds belong in the air we humans don’t
Where is the bird?
This is clearly landing gear failure, the friction on the runway could not bring the aircraft to a stop
Bird spreaded love ♥️
Yes....no landing gear but they also slid into a concrete barrier that obliterated the plane 😮 Bad place for a concrete barrier at the end of a runway
I am Azerbaijani 🇦🇿 and I was very saddened by this incident,I wish our South Korean 🇰🇷 friends to be strong,I give healing to the wounded and condolences to the relatives of those who died,ALLAH(C.C) help us.
How did u gve healing? Are you a healer or Some kind of Angel?
You Can..if you thing you can! You can't, if you think you can't. Distance healing possible by healers to anyone who have faith in it. Thoughts and prayers are powerful. If some leaders Mind chsnges, no war in the world. The leftover 29% land on earth will be peaceful.
Ohhh stop being a jack butt!!! That person is just sending their condolences to the family!!!!!@@tgmlunkhel9193
The landing gear should have been able to deploy manually?
Survival rate was about 1%. Not great odds.
I assume the broken engine prevented the plane from pulling up as the pilots discovered the landing gear problem. This would have given ground crews enough time to foam up a long emergency runway and rally firefighting crews.
That's not a bird!
Strange airport with a 'Super Jet Destroyer' concrete wall at the end of the runway, the opposite of what is needed.
Or a drone from a cluster drone swarm from carrier drone units. Curious who was on that plane like the one Russia shot down few days ago. Lots of planes going down. Another caught fire today on a runway.
Birds stronger then aircraft body this is wrong pilots mistake while landing the aircraft
That's engine no.2; does it power the hydraulics for the landing gears on B737-800?
Boeing needs to thoroughly investigate this and ground aircrafts
Boeing 737-800 airplanes have an impeccable safety record. It's the 737-Max that had the problems which seems to have been sorted out.
But the cement barrier did work. This is why cement barriers are constructed at the end of runways...to stop air crafts (...sorry for frustration)
If a bird strikes an engine will landing gear get malfunction?? Asking this with a common sense!
Watch the movie "Sully"
I'm so sad 😢
If the pilot had no engine thrust and was thinking that the plane wouldn't reach the runway, then he might have reduced the drag as much as possible to extend the glide, so no landing gear and minimal flaps. What is odd is that the plane is still quite fast right at the end of the runway. Could the pilots have misjudged how slipstreamed the plane is without landing gear and flaps and had no way to slow down and shorten the glide?
Idiot pilots didn´t know how to switch landing gear power-supply from the destroyed engine to the intact engine,
didn´t set down at MINIMUM speed and clearly forgot to activate the thrust reversal on the working engine after touching ground, which ultimately killed everyone.
The landing itself was pretty good although touch down was a little too far down the runway, even with there had been landing gear.. But if there were no flaps, that is a different scenario. And the wall at that end of the runway should not have been there in any case.
Always at the end of the yesr...May their souls rest in peace
There is so many water bodies near this airport! Pilot could have crash landed in water instead to save passengers. If it was water landing, very few people would have died. Careless pilot.
Water is as hard as concrete during a crash. And the survivors may drown in it. Landing on land is a better option than in water
@@alibarisa2778 but landing gears failed to open. So i think water might have been safer as no explosion would occur. I think that would have atleast saved 50% of lives.
What nonsense....I can not see any bird near....something went wrong in the engine or wheels of landing gears.....
If bird hit...why plane was in high speed on the runway....😮
Where is the black box ?
Don't the flights have technology of defending birds strike? Where are we now? We are in advanced technology and we still do not have defender gadgets protecting flights from birds strike!
So if one engine fails why other cant let the flight land safely..so this means a big safety issue for air travel? No value for passenger life?
My condolences. A nation in mourning.
