Ashy translucent powder? NOT on my watch!

This is the best alternative to #TranslucentPowder for dark skin. You guys know I have always been a huge fan of @dermablendpro so while I was digging through some of my greatly reduced make up collection, I came across my “cool beige” and “translucent banana” and have been using them for the past week or so and it reminded me of how much I love them

This has to be one of the first or second setting powders that I EVER used… Back in the day we did our make up and kept it moving.

While I was working in @duanereadenyc in 2009 as a beauty aid for brands such as @larocheposayusa @vichyusa @avene @lieracusa I came across derma blend setting powder

I had no idea what it really was, but I always sold a ton of it… And then one day a beautiful drag performance artist came in and gave me all the tea on how amazing it was, why I should use it and how it’s been a staple in the industry for years.

Ever since then I have been one of their biggest fans… The story that comes to mind that solidify the fact that this powder was amazing is one New York weekend I attended “bar crawl “

It was my first time ever staying in an Airbnb with a fellow make up artist friend of mine. We were out all night, drinking and dancing and partying, and I was using derma blend powder. Crawled to the b&b I passed out woke up later in the am. My make up was perfect. I didn’t get any on the sheets and I was able to wear my walk of shame make up to brunch. I got so many compliments.

This is not an ad, but I definitely feel like a spokesperson because I couldn’t recommend this more. I have talked about this several times over the 15 years I’ve been a creative and educator.

You guys know how I am. If you like translucent powder, but it makes you look ashy are having a flashback or it doesn’t last long, I recommend trying these two.
