Randomly got on this video, I'm from India, and one thing I can surely say that Mahindra is known for it's reliability here. I don't know if the newer cars like THAR and XUV-700 are available there, because they are AMAZING 🔥
My one is reaching 450000 km. I haven't had to change anything other than break pads, oil and filter and break pads. Even if it lasted only 150000 I could still have brad new every year for the same price of a hilux ( they cost 3 times and warranty is only 150000km)

I have been in SA for ages. South African Indians are generally biased against anything from India. For some reason, many tend to feel superior and I haven't understood the reason to be honest. It could be that he doesn't know how to keep his emotions aside and be objective. Just my 2 cents.

I have a 2020 79 and a 2014 mahindra pikup for work, the mahindra is surprisingly good, very comfortable, good torque and tough. Very fun to drive, cheap to run.

In short, pickups are not for prissys; they are meant to get the job done. Mahindra ticks many boxes, and getting better... Kudos!

I have one, took the long road well, pulled heavy large trailers decently could have had a bit more oomf with the heavy trailer pulling. Had very heavy loads in the back bin no issues pulled easily. Always feeling secure and fuel economy is quite good. I'm seeing more and more farmers and construction and mine companies using them. Is this a bakkie for a townie no probably not, it's too big, but for someone who needs something tough the Mahindra is ideal

To be honest, I'm a full of bull vehicle buyer. Always brand oriented. I have taken a Mahindra Karoo auto for a test drive. What a surprise! I"m so impressed with the Mahindra Karoo that I'm considering buying one now and moving away from the overpriced known brands we have is SA. Value for money is key when considering a vehicle, but to get the fuel economy of this vehicle in SA for its size is critical, we have higher than normal fuel increases and good fuel economy for this size of vehicle is exellent. I"m buying my Mahindra Karoo next week.
Wait for the new gen Scorpio, in jan or feb 2022 you'll be surprised by the refinement, tech, and interiors and features it'll be on offer, and value for money. Bang a buck

If they were to have made a version of the Hilux that had its roots in utility (like the Landcruiser 70-79 series), Id say iy would have to be similar to this, though maybe with a solid front axle.
