I lost my best friend recently, and when this song came on my rotation, I sobbed. The beautiful lyrics, the healthy reminders, and the incredible voice spoke to me in the midst of my darkness in a way nothing else could. I have been a huge fan of Melody Gardot since 2007 and have her music flowing through my speakers and headphones on a regular basis. However, I never let this one sit on my chest until last week, and it cracked me open. Very thankful for Melody's transparency, emotion, and rawness. She is an absolute gift to this world!

Son style est fait de jazz vocal, de folk, de blues ou de pop, souvent épicé de tropicalisme.
À 19 ans, elle est renversée par une voiture. La jeune fille s'accroche alors de longs mois à la musique comme à la vie et pour achever cette musicothérapie, l’étrange Some Lessons, "The Bedroom Sessions" paraît en 2005. L’opus (un EP 6 titres) exorcise la solitude et concrétise le rêve d’une deuxième vie !!!
Melody Gardot se révèle d’emblée un talent atypique. Elle sort en 2008 un premier album : Worrisome Heart. À 24 ans, elle connaît le succès international avec My One and Only Thrill qui mêle blues et rythmes latins.
Elle y interprète ses chansons mélancoliques alanguies sur les arrangements de Vince Mendoza. Elle apparaît pour la première fois à Jazz à Vienne en 2012 avec le répertoire de The Absence qui voyage du Maroc aux bouges à tango de Buenos Aires.
