I have chased elk with a boonie for years. Love it, guys.
Retired vet, wore one of those for plenty of years. Boonies are great for all conditions. Need to get me a new one! Great episode. I was hunting last day of late archery elk on the 15th, moved in on a group of 13 cows, 1 spike and a rag horn. Got to 5-0 yards, was waiting on one to clear from behind another to shoot. Just as I drew my bow back, two “road hunters” popped up on the road behind me, over ninety yards from the elk, and they shot into the wind. Completely missed, spooked them off in a hurry, the two guys looked down at me, laughed and ran off. My hunting partner and I checked and tracked the elk for a while, and confirmed there wasn’t a wounded one out there suffering. Those two idiots were anything but true hunters, and give all hunters a bad name.
I've never been a baseball style hat guy the boonie style has always served me better for multiple reasons and seasons! My sons and myself like your hunting content also!

I've always liked a " Boonie Boys" style hat. First Lite needs to add this to there had selections of head covers. In Cipher camo of course! With HUSHIN on the front of it!

Fun fact: Boonie hats or any wide brimmed hat... Cowboy hats increase the surface area to reflect sound into your ears. From a tree stand a mouse in the leaves sounds practically like a deer at 30 yds. I vote yes.

Never been a boonie hat guy ,but the sun tears me up at the higher elevations when I go elk hunting and at 56 and starting to have a problem with skin cancer I'm probably going to start wearing them

Boonie all the way! I wear them year round. Great for hunting, lawn work, fishing, a day at the range… you name it. Start now and you may avoid the repercussions of not wearing such a hat. Two rounds of skin cancer before turning 50 has taught me plenty.
