Hi Bob - I have a TBLE04 that does the same thing after I accidentally shorted the BEC. I think it's gone into overload protection mode. I could not reset mine so it went in the bin! SNOW!!! 😮😮

I hope you took the on/off switch off it first... As I said in the video, I took the on/off switch off this one to use on the HW1060 in the Wild One so I could mount the switch in the proper location on/in the chassis. Let's just be thankful Tamiya don't use MSC anymore.... At least I haven't seen any in some time in a new kit.

Hey Bob, I hope that you’re keeping well. That’s an interesting problem🤔thinking have you performed the motor mode setup, making sure that the ESC is in brushed mode, then performed the throttle operation, followed by the high point setup. It can’t be the switch, because power is getting to the ESC when you switch it one. I’d be interested in how you get on. Best wishes to you all 😊😎😉

    Hmmm.... Interesting.
Don't ya just hate these strange electrical issues?
I'm actually a big fan of the TBLEO2 ESC's..... Probably have at least 20 and never had any issues at all!
It's obviously getting power, but no signal from the receiver..... Kinda suggests a dodgy connection in the receiver lead perhaps? It may be on the plug, or perhaps internal.
Have you tried doing an ESC reset?
I think you can reset the ESC by prodding the button with a screwdriver, but I seem to remember it's a complicated process where you have to take note of the led sequence as you prod the button!
I think I googled how to reset a TBLEO2 when I had to do it?
    Certainly worth a try mate.
Failing that, try putting a new plug on the receiver lead...... or just pick up a hobby wing 1060!
Good luck, I'd be interested to see how you get on mate!
    👍 👍 👍

Actually, the esc is not sending power to the receiver, or not enough... You'll notice the green LED light up on the RX (receiver) with the other TBLE-02S esc in the buggy... However, if I unplug that esc from the RX, it does what the bad unit is doing... Bad B.E.C. in the esc???? Did the kid fry it cause he don't have a clue??? Or could it be just a bad esc.... I see Madmustang says he has one like this too..

I would probably toss it in the bin... I'm an electrical engineer so I should know stuff about these, but I just get annoyed sitting and fiddling with this stuff, it is more advanced than my brain has capacity for anyway, so often I just waste my time... Also, if this guy already messed with it, could be it's ruined, how would you know? And since it's an ex-boyfriend, maybe even more reason to get rid of it, ha ha!
Hope your mind finds rest with this issue, my friend!

Hi Mads!!! I had this sitting around for a year or 2.... as I said, I cut the on/off switch off (cause the esc did not work) and soldered it a HW1060 esc so I could mount the on/off switch in the stock location on the Wild One Off-Roader Blockhead Motors kit... My buddy Kevin has one with the same issue from a new kit... Acts like no BEC voltage going to the receiver.. I'm gonna take the wires off the board and keep the case & wires I think.

I have the same problem problem with DOA. It was the HOTSHOT esc or at least not working for me.

Yeah, it's weird right???? It's like the BEC in the esc isnt sending volts to the RX.... Not a big deal but still.....

Have you tried hooking up a brushless motor?

    • @UncleBobsRC
      @UncleBobsRC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

No, I never use these for brushless motors however, With no voltage going to the receiver via the BEC, there's really no point in trying to hook up a brushless motor. The esc wont even go into set up mode. My Go-To brushless ESC's are either Tekin or Castle Creations, Tekin ESC's are great if space is an issue (I have one in my Super Avante TD4 with a Tamiya 10.5 BL motor)..

@@UncleBobsRC I'm on a budget, so I go with Hobbywing, but now they're prices are also going up, now I go with their clones which uses their programmer. 😅

Hey Uncle Bob, I have no clue on this issue, hope someone can help you fix the issue.
