Hey Al, thanks brother... I know what you know... I haven't really played with it yet, just did a test run with it... I will be putting it through it's paces and doing a few tests with it...

I got those from Mac Tool when I worked as an auto tech.. You can probably find a cheaper set at a chain store or auto parts store... If you must have a Mac set, either on-line or find a Mac Tool Truck at a garage.. I got the bit set however, they don't come with JIS bits..

For sure brother.... Low voltage beats the water method any day in my book (and I used the water break-in years ago).

I never tried and I forget what tire has the wider bead.. If the JConcepts tire has the wider bead, yes, you need to cut them to use on stock Clod wheels.. However, that said, just get the wheels & tires from JConcepts as you can change the off set and do look much better & more scale...

My old one from years ago I think just had an adjustment pot from 6 volts to something like 12.2 volts..

All I needed was something to run my lathe & dyno... Now I tried to run the lathe with the dyno (as it has a motor run/break-in/tester in it) but the dyno losses power to the lathe too fast that I cant get a cut in. I tried using 2 different 12 volt full size car batteries fresh off a charge and that didn't work either... So I needed this, are cheaper units as you know, but I needed at least 10 amps and more than 12 volts.

All I got is, LOL.... Visit that Rob Brennan channel. LOL

Great to read you James... The decals were on the body when it was put away.. At my ex wife's house, it was in the attic (loft), the only people there were her, my 2 kids... None were/are really into rc and had no reason to touch any kit I left there for years.. Then came the time I gave more than half the kits away and sold a few off (regret every give or sell), but I kept a few for myself. Then, it was in a closet, in a spare room where we let 2 different people stay, for a total of about 2 or 3 years, because they were down un their luck and had no place to go.. It was then, about 2014 or so I found the truck in this state, missing parts and a whole different body, but the body was an OG body.. Seeing that discouraged me, then about 2 years ago, I gave it to neighbor, 3 months later he gave it back said he didn't have time for it, that's when I said to me self, "Ok, I'll rebuild it" been sitting for another 2 years... I very much appreciate the offer buddy for the part but man, it will cost you more than it would for me to buy two parts trees.

Oh the front bumper is made from KENDEX I think from CRP (Custom Racing Products) from the 90's. And life sh!t, yeah, I know that as well.. Those photos didn't show half of what I had...

Certainly a mystery...... who knows, it could be one of those that you finally piece together many years from now. 'The truth is out there' or so molder and Scully suggested! 😉 I would save a long term ebay search for original decal set, the correct out drives and the proper ford logo grill and tailgate. From experience, these things always get listed sooner or later..... a waiting game, thrill of the hunt and all that. This things definitely worth saving, it has lots of potential, and is oozing nostalgia! I will keep my eyes open for you buddy, I'm on ebay twice a day every day looking for elusive components for some of my own projects. 👍 😊

@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC First, I see your video is back up... My ex wife would never do anything to harm me or my stuff, not her style... It was I that went astray... I have the grill & tailgate around here someplace, I hope... As for the guys down on their luck, If its a means to make cash, those fingers get stickier than fly paper... I just wasn't even thinking about the truck in the room they used... It wasn't till about 2 or 3 years later after they moved on when I found it (the Blackfoot) all messed up (the photos showed the body it had on it when I put it away). Good news is, I found the Thorp parts I needed (just need to buy them now). I'll get her going in time...

After having my fingers burnt a few times I'm very untrusting of the females of our species, infact life experiences make me very cautious of people in general, especially so called friends, whom are often the first ones to let you down. Im well happy by myself with an animal companion, cats and dogs are loyal to the core! Glad you got the Thorp parts located, probably the most scarce of the bits required..... and it will be a huge rush when those original ford body parts. finally turn up! I've seen at least two or three sets of original Blackfoot decals listed on ebay over the last 4 or 5 years, so they are about. And like you say, MCI are always an option! Hope you enjoy the buggy video..... it's a bit long, lots of waffle and nerding out! 😂 This collection series was really to document my journey back into the hobby, and hopefully stir up some nostalgia for a few people that experienced the golden era of rc. First, thanks for the comment... 2 OG Blackfoot's, how can you go wrong... 1 all original and 1 modded... I'd say if you run them, run them slow and easy.. As 30 years plus old Tamiya plastic can't take any kind of use.. Clod Busters for sure.. Yours sounds great and I also have the og bones... However, when I got the truck I never thought and keeping it "fresh" I wanted to play.. Then I wanted it faster... After getting an RC10 T3 truck, the Blackfoot wasn't fun anymore so it sat.. Someone took parts and my body for the truck so I'm hunting for stickers (MCI makes replicas) but I think I would want OG stickers, if I can find them. If you want to run your brothers, I would do this: get a new one, and put his upgrade on it with his body, and use an MIP ball diff and I think you wont have any issues for years... Throp parts are hard to get and can cost more than a kit from some sellers... so beware of that...

@@UncleBobsRC I agree, driving my old Blackfoot trucks hard would be a bad idea. I do have a new one, but I have not built it yet. I have a Blackfoot III that I did build but have not driven it yet. I bought a whole bunch of original Blackfoot parts to make it look like the original. However, all of the sudden the parts got very expensive. So I left my Blackfoot III truck original and sold most of the original parts. I sure are aware, now the Blackfoot III is hard to get. It looks like I made the right choice. Thoughts?

Man, I'm not sure if I still have the part (Grill & Tailgate), I might have tossed them out, but wasn't long ago I think I showed you the truck via video call and it had all the parts... I hope they are still around here someplace. Those photos don't show half of what I had, most I gave away, some I sold, all I regret.

Oh man, I do that all the time... I know I put those parts in bubble wrap and then maybe in a small box.... But I been tossing out boxes to make more room in the rel**** RC room. Back then I was not only building & painting, but also running & recording or taking photos.. It was such a blast and a better time in my life.

My wife decided to get the basement (where I store my RCs and film my videos) renovated while I was on work travel, I had to find my stuff piece by piece… I couldn’t produce content for my channel for a while! 😫😤😂

Hi John, thanks for the comment... The photos of the Blackfoot are indeed right after building it, from there, it did get some mods, bearings, chrome wheels, suspension parts, drivetrain parts, nerf bars but the body was never touched.. As for being in storage, it sat in an attic for many years, the time I was out of RC, then in a closet in a room the wife and I let people stay for about 3 years cause they had no place to go, it was about that time, @ 2014, Jen & I sold the place and moved, that's when I found it in this state.. I had tons of RC's, these photos is not even half of what I had I gave a lot away and sold a few.. All I regret..

Well man, I did it again... I hit the "enter" key on the laptop and my reply didn't save... Oops. So, here is another one.. Thanks Jeremy, I got this truck in 1988 around the time my son was born. Been sitting in the attic for about 10-15 years then in a closet in the room where I had "friends" stay cause they were down on their luck... The body got swapped and parts came up missing (the grill & tailgate I have here someplace, I hope). There would be no reason for me to change the Thorp parts to other parts I can't use... And the body of the truck in the photos was/is the same body it had when I put it away all those years... The truck is not OE Stock but almost looks like it & that's what I was going for. NOTE: I found Thorp parts*** Those old photos just can't be replaced and they do take me back to a better time in my life.. Also, those photos don't show half of what I had... Most I gave away & others I sold off, I regret doing both!!!

Yes sir Paul, the chassis is the same on the Frog, Monster Beetle, Blackfoot, Brat, Mud Blaster and others, even was on early Tamiya "Rally" cars.

@reitplace4765 I say get one dude!! (a re re!) The ORV chassis is epic,and great fun would be had on your track! They will take a fair bit of abuse (trust me!).....although you would definitely need the MIP ball diff upgrade as the gearbox is awful on these. Sort that,limit the travel on the rear trailing arms (to stop it ejecting the drive shafts) drop in a superstock RZ motor and a 2s lipo and you will be grinning from ear to ear.....oh,and upgrade the body posts to! I have a lot of videos of me ragging the living daylights out of my monster beetle on our channel,and it loves it!😅 👍 👍

Thanks man, MIP makes good stuff but not period correct for this one, that's my goal anyway, I did think about the MIP stuff and selling off the Thorp parts (worth their weight in gold these days) but I'm going to hunt down the outdrives I need and source some o-rings for the shocks.. Finish stripping the body and paint it, then either find OG stickers (I rather have) or go MCI for some.

Thanks Fred... I didn't know what to do with it (I wanted to do this when I hit 300 subs, but life got in the way), so I waited till I got to 500 subs... Its a great kit, shocks need some work arounds, Tons of videos about the front ones on TH-cam and I took the metal guide out of the rear shocks and doubled up the o-rings, 2 plus years later, still no leak..

Yeah, Tamiya re-re'd the Black Clod... I don't know if there is anything different from the one years ago... I'm only missing the Chrome Edition Clod.. I say get a "normal" Super Clod Buster, the blue one, built that and run the hell out of it... Just get yourself a bearing set and I highly recommend steel pinions (Robinson Racing) and never use Loctite blue thread locker on Tamiya plastics.. Get hobby safe grade thread lock like Tamiya or Kyosho types... You'll be good to go.

@UncleBobsRC well after watching your video my curiosity got the best of me and I found one difference, my kit has the 106BK ESC. So I may buy the Re-re black edition and build that one then. I like the black and red color better. Reminds me of my super Blackfoot before I modified it back in the early 90s to look like Grave Digger. One last question, did you ever try a 3s battery on that new Tamiya ESC that came in your black edition?

@ Thanks for following my channel! I want to get back to the hobby, but I’ve been busy with work. I hope to put out some content again. Yeah, I didn’t get to test the Jugg’s diff yet, I want you to be the first to know that I might switch to the grey permatex gasket maker with high torque. It’s overkill I know, but I really want to contain the diff lube and prove that it work. My other idea is to design a new diff housing, prototype it with my 3D printer, and then maybe outsource it to be printed in aluminum. I’ve also designed covers for the Clod diff to be able to contain fluid in it. It requires some machining to the stock parts, I’m not sure people would be willing to take those risk, but it works. It’ll be a game changer. 😊

@@galkawarrior Yes, just like the grey "Right Stuff" by Permatex, we used that in the shop for oil pans, transmission pans, diff covers and so on.. This stuff sets in about a min. Its like the stuff auto makers use when they put oil pans on and so on... Your right, if its the same stuff, it will seal a half inch hole in an oil pan... I'll be waiting and no rush man, your followers will be here.
