SPOILER ALERT!!! The truth is, Venom Snake is not Naked Snake. He was Naked Snake's medic, but the chopper explosion erased his memory. After a nine-year coma, the medic underwent facial reconstructive surgery to retain the appearance of his mentor. Venom Snake, officially known as Ahab, would escape the hospital with the real Big Boss, now known as Ishmael. Naked Snake faked his death and went into exile, but Venom would eventually learn the truth and carry out his legacy, such is the tradition of FOXHOUND. Venom would be defeated by his son, and his successor Solid Snake, and pass the mantle of Big Boss on to him.
@eriklugli2704 not confirmed... but I would find it tough to believe in all of Otacon searching for the Patriots and for sunny that some how some way he didn't come across the truth about venom... but that's just a hunch.
The message of not being able to simulate experience is awesomely consistent in this franchise. It's quite literally the entire plot of the second game with Raiden the virtuous missions and the big sell incident. But not only that makes a big return in plot for the fourth game. Remember the soldiers in the fourth game are only as good as their nano machines because they do not have enough real life field experience to deal with the stress of a battlefield. The nano machines do that for them and make them mindless soldiers that are just perfect until they fail. Also sick edit and sorry for going on a spiel I just love this series so much.
This reminds me when 9/11 was mentioned in Metal Gear Rising. Metal Gear Solid took place in the future of 2005 and MGS2 in 2009. Something that did not exist in the past but is brought up in later games.

They called Snake's melee attacks CQB in MGS1
@@5nestacqb is probably same thing b is for battle instead of the c for combat . Close clothers battle
@@flowrepins6663 yes, but CQC was coined by Big Boss and the Boss. CQB was a generic close quarters hand to hand style

Me doing cartwheels in MGS1: "I'll never use CQC"
In MGS you actually use CQB (Close Quarters Battle). I think it's in a conversation with Miller...
Except his commander was venom snake... not big boss.
Snake didn't know that though, did he?
@eriklugli2704 not confirmed... but I would find it tough to believe in all of Otacon searching for the Patriots and for sunny that some how some way he didn't come across the truth about venom... but that's just a hunch.
@zuran6633 How many people actually know about Venom tho?
@@notcorinnothingim not sure kojima thought about venom after mgs4
@@zuran6633maybe venom was so good that no one could tell the difference from the real boss
-Since when do you know CQC?
-Since Big B-Kojima thought it would be a good idea.
I now need this sort of dialogue for why his mouth didn’t move on Shadow Moses.
This reminds me when 9/11 was mentioned in Metal Gear Rising. Metal Gear Solid took place in the future of 2005 and MGS2 in 2009. Something that did not exist in the past but is brought up in later games.
Basically "I use it now because other people are using it against me" I like that explanation
Soild Snake: kid I can't use it because back there I was being stuck at mosaic in PLAYSTATION 1 you got it now? Boy😂
Kojima: "When it comes to shove CQC into current timeline, I've got the upper hand"
"Because otacon, games consoles weren't able to handle such badassery before 2008...some tech Wiz you are"
I still have the strategy guide from MGS3 that has a few pages in it that teaches you some CQC moves. I literally learned it by reading about it lol
This is like having a codec conversation about why Snake doesn’t have eyes during Shadow Moses.
To have a partner like The Boss to train with would be a treat.
Reminds me of the way Jin Kazama discarded the Mishima style post Tekken 3.
"he taught it to me, so i never used it." Also, "others arent doing it right."
You eventually learn that Big Boss didn't betray his unit but they all used and betrayed him
I still think the GameCube veersion of mgs1 that was a slight remaster is one of the best, the way they gave Snake some flair was beautiful.
A rather uncommon occurrence where the retcon was welcomed. It added to Snake's prestige. He accomplished all his feats up until that point in the story while handicapping himself.
Oatcon sounds like he's coming straight from MechAssault Warrior 2: Lone Wolf.
“I’ve never used it in actual combat” and “I learned from doing” makes complete sense
training!
