Cabbage is a good food if you're on Keto....but there is still 4.2 g of "natural" sugar, which, if not burned off in your body, will turn into fat. ONE CUP of shredded cabbage is 34 calories, 8.2g carbs (5.4g NET carbs after subtracting the 2.8g of fiber), AND 4.2g of SUGAR, which will end up turning into fat in your body if it isn't burned off for energy.

Lord, cabbage was all that i wanted when I wss pregnant with with my 2 youngest daughters. I stayed away from it for 30 years now, but i think I have to have this😂
Seriously.....if you're going to cut each half of that cabbage into half, again, for heaven's sake, put the FLAT side on the bottom instead of cutting it where there is a rounded side that could cause a slip. ALWAYS try to have a flat side down to create a secure base. (Surprised that you have any fingers left after all of the years of cooking you've done. ) Perhaps you should have someone prep your ingredients so that you won't hurt yourself!
Growing up in a Irish household, we make our corned beef low boiling the corn beef with spices till it is just about finished, adding the carrots then red potatoes and finally the cabbage. When all is done, scoop out and serve with Irish soda bread. Yummy! It's interesting to read how everyone makes their corned beef and cabbage. Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

Love cabbage any way I can get it, thank you
Cabbage is a good food if you're on Keto....but there is still 4.2 g of "natural" sugar, which, if not burned off in your body, will turn into fat. ONE CUP of shredded cabbage is 34 calories, 8.2g carbs (5.4g NET carbs after subtracting the 2.8g of fiber), AND 4.2g of SUGAR, which will end up turning into fat in your body if it isn't burned off for energy.
I always put onions in my cabbage, and cook it in bacon drippings.
I do the same minus the onion lol AND my mom always kept the core and salted it to eat herself. I LOVE fried cabbage and sweet cornbread. LOL that’s where I get the calories, the cornbread.
Hi 👋 dear, how are you doing?
I always make corn beef and cabbage and maybe an Irish jig.. lol. Oh yes, and some crackling cornbread yummy.
I know your pain with the tough cabbage Paula. I have made cabbage with bacon, kielbasa, etc...onion of course. I've also mixed in purple cabbage.
Oh yum! Love onions with cabbage also!
I need to make this i love cabbage just didn't know how to fix it.....I would love to know where Paula's blue cake holder is from
I'd love to see you make lace cornbread?
I usually stir-fry cabbage along with onion and a soy sauce mixture. However, I've never tried it with butter, so I'll mark that on my calendar because it looks really good..
I also like to slice one shallot and put it in there with the onion. Just adds another layer of flavor.
What’s all that noise in the background ? Looks good Miss Paula ! Got to try the onions in mind.
Yes this is the way I was taught only difference is we always added smoked sausage, bacon or ham. Lol got to have my meat.
I get tickled at Ms. Paula every time she talks about calories! All that butter and bacon grease doesn't even count! Hahahahaha!!!!
I made your Irish Cream cake for a dinner party tonight, St. Patty's Day, and oh my gosh it was fantastic. Everyone wanted the recipe!! Also served Blue Belle coffee ice cream with it. Thanks for sharing the recipe. That surely is a keeper.
Hi Paula I pretty much make it the same way but I use a whole pound of bacon cut up and it's delicious 😋
I like mine a tad mushy
Growing up in a Irish household, we make our corned beef low boiling the corn beef with spices till it is just about finished, adding the carrots then red potatoes and finally the cabbage. When all is done, scoop out and serve with Irish soda bread. Yummy! It's interesting to read how everyone makes their corned beef and cabbage. Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!
I think I'm trying this delicious looking recipe for tomorrow's dinner along with corn beef. Thank you again Paula
I cook with a lot of onion.
My favorite veggie…. 😋😋
Just the recipe I’ve been looking for🥰
Looks awesome and so do you! Can’t wait to try making the fried cabbage! Used to watch your show all the time, glad to see you back!
i always add a little acv and sugar to it
I've loved your videos since quarantine but your new camera style is annoying. The constant movement makes it very difficult to focus on what you're doing, I watch you on my computer, not a large screen TV. The constant swaying actually makes me nauseous. The soft powdery look/lighting you're using blurs everything as well. It's a pretty look for photography but you and your house are already beautiful you don't need to soften and blur. As I've said to you before, you're as bright as lemon zest Paula, as are the people you surround yourself with. I hope this helps with future decisions on your filming.
This Country-Style Fried Cabbage recipe looks so delicious Paula.
A Tbsp of bacon grease has 115 calories, so 3 T. has 345 calories plus the butter you added has 105 calories per tbsp. so it's not quite calorie-free!
Paula I love you. We cook about the same. I was born in Ala but lived 40 years in CA. And recently moved to NC. And I've always cooked like you do. I love the new look for your house too thank you for the tour during the remodel.
