    Dude,
    You can lower the rear of your hood on this car by putting a washer between the hinge and the hood at the front hole. Seems counterintuitive but what this does is it lets the hood hinge rotate farther forward and lowers the back of it which is setting the height. You can also get some side to side alignment by loosening all four hood bolts and then pushing it to the side you need it moved and then tightening them. Provided you have enough slop in your holes.

    for people who speak English, fender is a wing and a hood is a bonnet 😊

    Hey guys ... I have a 99 mustang I’m having that same exact problem he just showed in the video, only i replaced the hinges twice and cant get it even, she closes fully but its uneven and higher on one end,,., any help pleaseeeeee !!!!

      If the car has been in any form of an accident it may keep it from lining up. I also have more to do on this car because I aligned the door and fender and need them actually both aligned to the hood

    Well I pulled a mustang move and hit a curb; lesson learned and bent my lower part of the radiator core and has the exact alignment issues you have. Any advice?

      It will have to be straightened on the frame area where it’s bent. If you can find the area you might be able to use ratchet straps to yank it back, but it may need to go to a body shop

    My hood flew off my car pulling out the stud bolts leaving a hole on the frame don't know how to go about it to fix it

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You’ll need someone to weld on and bolt on a new strip of steel for the new hood hinges to bolt into

    I've hit 4 deer with my '03. (Iowa.) Everything but the front bumper cover is aligned, the side mounts where it bolts to the fender are broken off. Is there any way to re-attatch those brackets? It's got me stumped.

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It might be difficult if they’re completely broken off, but you could see how I epoxy’d them back on for this bumper th-cam.com/video/e7kZ03hPyx4/w-d-xo.html

    this isn't going to help me any. i've got a car that was in a crash twice before and the hood hinges are off, the fenders are off, and i have no initial starting point/measurements for anything. the old hood hinges and fenders were bent and taken off the car and the car was sitting for 3 months, to make things worse this type of car, the fender cowls cover up the hood hinge bolts, so you cannot tighten or adjust them without removing the fenders first, which then defeats the whole point of aligning everything. i dont even know how or where to begin.

      At a salvage yard or eBay is probably you best bet

    Man I’ve been looking for hood hinges for my 92’ Buick Riviera, and I have had zero luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    No I do not want to sell or junk this car.

      RockAuto, or junkyards I suppose. It’s hard finding parts for the early 90s GM stuff these days. At least in my experience owning a ‘94 Cutlass

    Do you recommend buying used oem or new aftermarket for a Cobra?
    I had tried getting second set of oem but they seem bent too.

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would think they are discontinued by now unless you find them on eBay or something.

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do have a front bumper video, but it’s the part that’s fixed. Other panes align to it. If the car has been in an accident it may be hard to get it to all line up again th-cam.com/video/e7kZ03hPyx4/w-d-xo.html

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s just to ground the hood. The car runs without it
