    Real post this time and not just for the algorithms or my personal wishlist;
    1) Z-Fold gauze x3
    Forget the other brands & go straight for CELOX, they’re the only ones that work on bleeders, victims with hypothermia and K9’s etc.
    2) RAT tourniquets x3
    I have used the SWAT & the CAT versions, in a stressful situation the RAT ones proved easiest to use while working with the least amount of effort and thought.
    3) Benadryl and Aspirin packs x3
    These have saved plenty of lives so, always have it in your “oh shit” kit.
    Why 3 you ask? Because 1 is none, 2 is 1 and 3 is many…it’s not rocket surgery.

    Splints are underrated for outdoorman. You fall out a stand and break your leg and have to drag yourself out the woods a splint will help prevent you from severing something internal. Also snakestaff tourniquets are very convenient to carry in your pocket due to size. Swat-t will fit kids much better than a CAT or the like but not as simple to use without practice Also works well for putting pressure on bandages so it can fill multiple roles. Having a splint with 2 tourniquets and some z fold doesnt take up space and covers alot of areas

    Great info, as far as future guest I'd suggest "Bear" from refuge medical. His company makes top quality USA made kits for every situation.

    The kits are great. Everyone should also know how to improvise things such as tourniquets, dressings, splints etc. we were thought that part in the military and it saved allot of lives.

      @@veteranoutdoorsman9978 exactly, people have car accidents and falls all the time…if we all just knew the basics, a lot more people would be alive today.

      Lord of people died too, from having to kust improvise. Just listen to some guys who were in Mogadishu. Good to know how to improvise, but shouldn't be your plan. But to each their own.

      @@clintivy623 fair, the ability to think on your feet IS important…but starting with the basics is key and, fundamentals is king.
      Go through it in your head, what to do if/when is “dry fire” for your brain.
      It will give you a point to start improvising from.
      Proper planning prevents piss poor performance.

    Thanks. I almost ordered kits recently after attending community CPR training. I thought I was being “too prep’ed”. The real life story put things in perspective. Ordered two kits today.

    Great show, Wade! Love these gear breakdowns. Especially the tool and first aid kits. I’ve been into both for years. I carry them in every vehicle and every bag I use on the daily. Working as a Machine Repairman and Machinist, you learn quickly to dedicate at least one drawer in your toolbox to med supplies as well. I even carry a small first aid pouch on my belt, for those times I may be away from a primary kit. For those small EDC belt kits, Amazon is your best friend.
