@@WilliamCrosbie-e2f yh cuz u started out playing volleyball with d1 level skills tf?? you started a a point (EVERYONE DID) where you could barely pass, set, hit or serve. youre telling me youve made every single serve over the net and was always a great at setting hitting and passing? LMAOO RIGHT
@@ellelarrabee Yes I agree everyone has a start but some people start at a high level, people like me. We get the hang of things very fast, and when I say very fast, I learned how to pass, and set in a few days and I was already good at. After seeing how to overhand i was able to do it a few days later, and the same day I was taught how to jump float I did how to jump float serve and I made my jv team as a starter after having no playing experience, we made it to playoff and lost by 2 in the 3rd set. So yes some people just are naturally talented with the sport of volleyball. It's ok if some people struggle with it, I just think that I can't relate because volleyball came so natural to me and I got good very fast.

I have try-outs this summer for my freshman year, is this what tryouts are? I was worried they were gonna test us individually instead of a whole team.
aw so do i, naturally they will test you’re teamwork skills and coach ability, but they also wanna see what you are skilled in solo , like your serving passing setting hitting . they might not have you do it individually though
Hi! Are there any summer conditioning or open gyms for the high school you are trying out? I recommend attending to all, coaches loves to see familiar faces that attend to those. My tips to really make yourself stand out to the coach is to be loud, supportive to other people, and never be lazy to get the ball. Good luck!

Some tryouts make you wear the same shirt so everyone can be seen equally, because at tryouts where you can wear whatever some girls wear neons where others wear neutrals so coaches eyes look at the neons and don’t see the others as much.
@@arbex8510 This was 14 and under tryouts (7th and 8th graders) from a few years ago. we had some taller kids that's for sure. some have ended up being rather decent volleyball players.
Ima be in so much panic once they ask what position I was mainly trying out for.

Im so worried, i have 7 hour long tryouts coming up today, tmr, and the next day, im not ready 😭
I'm not going to lie, they do have decents spikes and sets but they could improve more on their passing.

Some do, but most test the whole team. Be prepared to do anything.
