I have read the Upanishads - ed. by Oxford Classics Classics - but I have not read or heard about a Vedic or Upanishadic mantra in Avatar (film). This is what I mean. If I'm wrong and there are omaticayas singing praise, mantra, etc... to Shiva/Rudra, Vishnu, Brahma, Aditi, Surya, Gayatri, etc... What I meant was, those who strongly believe in Abrahamic religions often look at Hinduism with an Abrahamic point of view, they equate the concept of Dharma(Righteous duties) with Religion, they equate the concept of Bramha(all pervasive ultimate reality) with God, they equate Paap (something that creates disturbance in our minds and the society) with sin.
So, I don't want anyone to leave their Abrahamic religion to understand Hinduism, I just want them to look at Hinduism with a Hindu lens and not an Abrahamic one.

I love this film. Watched it as a teen of 13 in 1999. Then as a teen of 17 in 2003 I watched the 2nd and 3rd parts. Talked like a kid with friends about starting a new religion called "Neoism". First watched it for the action and vfx. But then was hooked on forever to it's literally Mariana Trench level deep concepts. One of the most beautiful films to be made ever. "Understanding the concept is very important here. The entirety of everything is the Brahman/Paramatman(an infinite ocean in all possible directions), then within that infinite ocean is a balloon full of water. The balloon's is the veil, the Maya/Matrix and the water inside the balloon is the Atman/Self. Goal of the Atman is to break the balloon membrane and mix with the infinite ocean of Brahman and become one and the same.
