The veefriends card is where Gary is donating the proceeds and it will be featured in a future auction with Alt. Just wanted to provide that clarity for everyone.

Jay, this is awesome. that 16 auto lbj was sick, but the best part of the video is seeing that little kids eyes glow when you gifted him those cards. Thank you so much for sharing this video. It's nice to see the more personal side of the hobby. To many people caught up in the "how much can I make" mentality. Showing that there are a lot of us that collect purely for the joy of collecting is what makes this one of the best communities to be a part of.

90 Days Sober (Awesome). Actually, I need to do the same thing and Man Up and get Sober and Clean myself. Going to be 50 years old. My Daughter just had my first Grandchild (Boy). Anyways, I wish the National Sports Card Convention came to Arizona. I’ve been Collecting cards for 20+ years. Mostly Baseball and a little of everything else in the past couple of years. I’m trying to get my Son into Collecting. He’s into Pokémon which is cool. What’s up Mojo!!!
My man, those sketches are sick! However all were turned immediately in to digital illustrations. Many of the Kaboom cards are still produced in a cartoon style completely hand sketched, just a bit more modernized and less caricature-like. What makes his different is the style/look alone of the original cards, which look too bootleggy and cheap for me personally. None of the forms have depth and from a normal viewing distance look super washed out and too dark to see anything besides the jerseys on many of them. Myself and every single graphic artist begins the majority of pieces with a sketch, even if it's some basic shapes or a fully detailed portrait. That sketch is then placed on to my ipad canvas and the fun starts. If it's on any card today, it's graphic design or digital art. Even if that designer's style is more "illustration" like or started more fluid and raw with scanned imagery of a fully colored piece. Source: 2.5+ years senior designer at Upper Deck and 16+ years in the industry
Wow, the guy that watches the Honus Wagner does not even know why it's so valuable? It was NOT the first baseball card. Honus Wagner (a member of the baseball hall of fame) pulled the cards from tobacco companies himself, so not many were produced. It was speculated he did not want kids associated with smoking tobacco, or he was not paid fairly for using his face in the ads. Either way, the person showing this off should know this instead of spewing false information of baseball history.

I’ve honestly been wondering the same thing myself. I just got back into collecting about a year ago. A lot of these TH-cam guys seem to look up to the Gary Vee guy. Just genuinely wondering what they hype is about. I remember he was telling Card Collector 2 to buy Sam Darnold at last year’s nationals. Again, not hating just wondering who Gary Vee is and why the other TH-camrs in sports cards seem to idolize him.
