    In this video I do a long term use honest review of the Echo PB-2520 hand held blower. Ive been using the echo PB-2520 hand held leaf blower daily in my lawn care business for over 2 months and share what I think about this leaf blower, the pros and cons and if I would recommend the Echo PB-2520. Previously I had been using the Stihl SH56C

    Btw, you really have a talent for podcasts. Very detailed, well written and researched. I know you stated that your were very much into tech. If you did a podcast/TH-cam segment in that field the channel would likely do big numbers. Don't stop doing the lawn care stuff , however the tech/ gadget game is probably 100x times more popular than our industry lol.

    I just ordered the echo pb-2250 from Walmart !
    Most gas leaf blowers are junk !
    Stihl are very heavy but good quality , Huskavarna are not bad but ECHO beats it out with features and light weight per performance !
    The ECHO needs a couple minutes to warm up so full power is there !

    Great review .. I am left handed and will get the 2520 because the Stihl BG 50 airi intake is on RHS so when I used my neighbours my pants were always getting sucked toward the air intake.. .. Echo has an air intake shield on RHS and air intake is on LHS..

    i own the Echo PB-2520 and the Husqvarna 125B, for all the reasons you pointed out, i prefer the Husky..i can't tell you how many times i forgot to push the start button forward and kept trying to start this Echo only to realize i didn't have the button in the on position..as you also mentioned,the air in take is on the left side so if you're right handed your pants keep getting sucked into the blower..i also noticed the same thing about the pull cord, you have to pull the cord towards the rear of the blower rather then straight up..none of these make it a bad blower by any means but the Husky doesn't have these annoyances 👍🙂

      Although I have found the echo two stroke stuff to be usually reliable. Their engine case designs seem crude and not as refined as STIHL and others. Thanks for watching.

    Me personally, i just purchased this blower today. I dont understand everyones issue with letting it warm up. I have to do the same with my weed eater(an echo 225) and i did it to my stihl one as well. to my knowledge, thats the best route for small engines in general for care and getting it started for work. So why is everyone so worked up about letting it warm up for 2-3 minutes. Let me know

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that with the echo products it’s that you have no choice but to let them warm up in order for it to run properly. They take a little bit longer than some of the other brands. The good news Is that I’ve found that it gets better over time the more you use the machine and require less warm up as the machine gets older. Almost like it’s a break in period for the engine when new. Thanks for watching.

    Bought one, they have an issue with erratic running at start up , up until a few minutes of running, noticeable engine noise pitch changes. Has been back to the dealer twice for carburetor adjustments but no resolution, have seen numerous other reviews on the same unit With the same running complaints!

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Interesting. I haven’t had that experience with mine and I’ll be honest to admit I have not watched too many other reviews on it. I wonder how many people experience those issues vs units sold. Thanks for bringing that to my attention and thanks for watching.

    I just unboxed mine and had heard it's a great buy....hard to start at first and after using it to blow leaves at full RPM's it sputtered a bit! Should I uae a less than full power?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No they tend to have a bit of a break in period when new where they do that for a few weeks and then out of nowhere it’s like it goes into another gear and starts being awesome. 😂 They also require a few seconds of warm up on cold mornings. Mine get used daily throughout the season and is still going strong since I got it in 2017. Thanks for watching.

    Im finding that lower end blowers echo,stihl, husqvarna,are using one ring pistons in these motors, only MTD made blowers have two rings, but reliability is not good on them ether . Any thoughts on the one compression ring piston?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can send the engineers at echo a email and ask them about whether it uses one piston ring or two if you like? I do know that this blower has been great and seem to be getting better as time goes on. Almost as if the motor is broken in now and is creating more power. It’s a impressive unit. I use it a my main blower everyday.

    • @davidwargnier7337
      @davidwargnier7337 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea i looked at the schematic on that echo and others and they're all using one ring pistons. got me thinking 2 cycle compression being so critical why they would use only one piston ring.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure. I’m not a mechanic or engineer so I have no clue. I do know that when I visited the echo factory all the engine blocks and engine parts are manufactured in Japan by the parent company Yamibiko corporation. Then sent to the USA for assembly into the rest of the equipment that is manufactured in the USA plant. I remember seeing palettes of “crate” engines so to speak.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go check out my Instagram post today. I just put up a few pictures I took from the factory tour showing all the yamibiko engines ready for assembly into echo equipment.

    Just purchased this to replace a BG50 that died on me. Have seen Echos cranked different ways with the choke on and choke off. What is your preferred method? Always a cold start I'm referring.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always put choke on and crank till it almost starts take choke off and one more pull to start. These require a warm up period each time you use them otherwise they choke and sputter. They also seem to do the same thing when new and seem to go through a long break in period. Since this video was made I noticed mine also suffered a lot from vapour lock in the summer. Thanks for watching.

    @Pure_KodiakWILD_Power 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    re: the tube. i have the model right before ( or below ) this one, and i've also had other echo handhelds, and the top tube should be solid. either something wasn't tight with that unit, or you got a lemon.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did they have the same style mounting at the blower housing? I just double checked it and there is no way it is on wrong. It’s not the twist and lock like in the middle of the tube. You just slide it in and two clips one on either side grab on to it. You can see them in the pan shots in the intro.

    • @Pure_KodiakWILD_Power
      @Pure_KodiakWILD_Power 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it's the pb 250ln, & it doesn't have those strange side clips.
      i'll have to go to one of my dealers one of these days to look at the new model to see how well it'S made. i'm looking for a more powerful handheld to use at the same time with my backpack anyway, not that the 250 is a slouch.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      kodiak wild yah go check it out. It does have lots of power and as I said in the video is perfect when used in conjunction with a back pack blower. Just those small minor annoyances to deal with. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.

    I bought this blower a few months ago and really like it but there's one thing I don't like about it. It's when you first start it up, you have to give it time to warm up or it just bogs down....very annoying. Does anyone else have this problem?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really noticeable with my blower but my echo trimmer needs warming up each morning. I also find that my blower seems to have gotten better with age. Almost like the engine went through a break in period because now the thing feels like a beast when I’m blowing. So powerful for a handheld. I love it. It’s my main blower every day.

    • @stephenP1979

      steelman46 ok. Thanks for the info. I’m not tied to any brand. Reliability is what matters most to me. I’ve mostly used all stihl for 12 years until I got to try some of the echo stuff this past season. The only thing I dislike about stihl is the 4 mix engines always need valve adjustments constantly. It’s a pain. I also had a Honda Trimmer I used for about 7 years. It was a great unit as well.

    Purchased this blower but.... if you look up parts ,well don't break up your gas tank or you will have to trash the blower. No parts available for it and the scary part is that the gas tank even new seams to be made of a brittle material. Might be returning mine,this looks to be a disposable tool.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Disposable? Not a chance. I’ve been using mine everyday since 2017. In fact I had one of the first ones available before it even went on sale to the public. It’s been my main blower in my business. I stopped using my backpack blower after I got this as it has more than enough power for weekly maintenance. I’ve dropped it so many times and it has not even gotten a crack. Scratches yes but broken or cracks nope. I even use cheap gas with ethinol and it hasn’t even done anything to the gas system or made it brittle. These blowers are tanks. Thanks for watching.

      I compare to Stihl because that’s what I use to use for the previous 12 years. After using echo products since 2017 now, I can definitely say that Stihl is NOT the best. They are probably the best for how they market their products though in making people think they are the best. 😂 Honestly though, I think Stihl makes good products, But I had lots of issues with multiple Stihl products always requiring maintenance.
