    Thank you, FYI, with the Garmin 7x solar, after you finish the setup in Garmin Connect IQ, go to your watch, don’t press menu, just press Down button, locate your park run
    barcode and press edit to move it up the list.

      Hi, thanks for the extra tip 😁 I run with a 955 solar now and with it being touch screen I can switch between a barcode and qr code with a swip across. Sometimes if the sun if causing too much reflection on the screen the qr works much better for the scanners.

    It's a very helpful video, thanks, but this doesn't work for me. When I have installed it the widget click on "Settings" (1:56 in the video), I do not then get the option to enter my Athlete Number etc. I am faced with a blank screen instead. Do you have any idea why this might be?

    • @racheld1844
      @racheld1844  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chris. Which watch is it that you have? Also is the widget picture exactly the same as the one on the video? Those could be the only things I could think of that wouldn’t allow you to input your details (ie your watch wasn’t compatible or the widget may have been a different one).
      I’ve just had a look at the widget again and it seems the same although there have been a couple of little updates since I installed mine (although that shouldn’t make any difference). I think it allows you to have a qr code on a different screen as well.

      Hi Aaron. Hope it all goes well with the set up of your new watch. I’m still using my watch barcode when I parkrun and there’s now an addition of a qr code. I didn’t need to do anything different, it just appeared one day. That’s worked well when it’s sunny or if it’s been raining 🙂

      Hi John, I think to uninstall the widget just go to the Garmin IQ store, click on your device, scroll down to widgets (that are installed on your device) and click on the watch face that you’ve installed. There should be an option to uninstall. Hope that makes sense/ works 😀
      Thanks for watching 👍

    I downloaded it. The image is very small on my Garmin 45. I guess we’ll see if it works at the next parkrun. They always say at the start that they cannot read a scanned digital image. I forgot my card a few weeks back so didn’t register a time. This will be a nice backup for emergencies if it does work. Thanks.

    • @racheld1844

      I also took my usual printed barcode just in case but my watch worked no problem at all. If you wanted to give it a try before you went, if you download the parkrun volunteer app to your phone, open it and click on the barcode section of the app and hold it over your watch, you should be able to see if it reads your watch. Good luck either way 👍

      That’s great to hear. I sometimes barcode scan at parkrun and so many runners have it on their watch now. Depending on what model your watch is, it may also mean you’ve downloaded a qr barcode at the same time. That works really well on wet/ bright sunny days when it’s hard to get a reading from the barcode 👍

  • @krazyoskar

    • @racheld1844
      @racheld1844  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, when you search through your widgets via the edit button (where you did a long press and then scroll for widget edit) it will only be the widget logo and not your real barcode. To find it you only need to do a single down press to see it and it should open up. If it still appears as the widget logo and not your barcode it may mean your watch doesn’t support the download. Which watch is it that you have?

      @@Ecoroof1986 There are different ways to encode something in a barcode. The widgets uses the most compact method so the barcode has the best chance of being scaled up in size making scanning easier. You may notice that the paper printed bar codes use a slightly different encoding than the plastic tags. So, what you see on a watch may be different to what you see elsewhere. It will be correct assuming you entered the number correctly though. :-)
