Love your reactions from songs of the 60’s, 70’s,80’s some 1990’s. Those were my era’s the oldies but goodies and your reactions always make me smile knowing you appreciate the music of the 60’s,70’s, and the 80’s. You’re right those ladies have the recipe and if I can I going to try get it for you. It’s gonna be tough but I’ll try! You have that deep soul reaction that’s from the heart for them oldies!
The baddest vocal group on the planet---the pride and joy of Harvey, Illinois, the mighty, mighty, mighty Dells! I sing Marvin Junior's part when we (Black Elegance) perform this timeless gem. Gratitude. @@@*** Sembene, in Chicago ***@@@
So you've heard 'Stay In My Corner." Now you have to hear, "The Love We Had Stays On My Mind;" so what do you think? It's that Marvin Jr. & Johnny Carter combination that does it! And waiting for that holding notes, MR. Marvin Jr.!!!
This is one of the most incredible R&B Groups in history. The group was formed in Harvey, Illinois while the members were in high school in 1952 under the name the El Rays and had a 60-year run until 2012. Was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Just absolutely amazing what they were able to accomplish!!
Gotta disagree Jazz and Sisqo killed that shit with woody on the high notes smh that’s my drunk song 😂😂😂 Love the dells but I prefer Dru Hill version the best was way better
So, just so you know that shrill voice is the same one that's starts out the verse, i.e. lately babe, I've been thinking how good it was when you were here. And it ain't the wine that I've been drinking! For once I feel my head is clear!!! Then goes Marvin Jr.!!! BUT early this morning... You know, I will always say, They are a good team! The BEST!!!
What a great group! Inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004! They are so deserving! “Stay in My Corner” is a great song 🎵 as well! Great request and reaction from Ashley! 😎😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
🩵🩵🩵 the Dells, react to: 1. stay in my corner 1972 live, 2. a heart is a house of love, 3. oh what a night 1969, 4. I can see a rainbow, 5. give your baby a standing ovation all by the Dells
Oh yes this is on the ol skool love song Playlist and when it comes to being friendly these are emotional love songs and leave something to the imagination unlike a lot of what we have today. Edit : Glad you are feeling better 🎉👏👍
This song makes my heart yearn for that one you know you was really and still in love with yet they moved on. But they know within themselves how much you love them and they still love you but due to life and circumstances we are not together. Goodness
Ashley, I'm a Senior citizen and I love your reactions, I would love if you would react to the Chlltes " I Want To Pay You Back" The Voices of Dells will never be duplicated!
The Dells one of my favorite vocal groups I bought that album but there's one Dells song that touches my soul title Open Up My Heart you might not like it every time I listen to it it does something to me.
The Mighty Dells have one more song they are known for. 'Oh What a Night' (1969) was their second top ten hit on the Billboard charts since their first in 'Stay in My Corner the year before. 'Oh What a Night' is just as dynamic as the first two you'd heard. And a thought just came about. Motown had their own version of the Delfonics and The Dells. Now, im not sure if this was Motown's counter what was going on in Philly with the success of The Delfonics and/or in Chicago where The Dells were having success, but Detriot wanted to represent - it could be the other way around, im not sure. But the group 'The Originals' had a couple of big hits themselves including one song that hit Number 1 on the R&B charts in 1969 'Baby I'm For Real' and in the same year another hit with 'The Bells'.
I think the Dells were singing more about deep feelings than the carnal aspect of love. Blk people were romantic back then. It is too bad that Blk love is beginning to slip away. We should all experience it.
Early this morning when I woke up! I know I ain't the only one I got that one woman I'm not going to tell you her name.... But he who is without sin cast the first stone I know I'm not the only one!#!!
Hey Ashley 👋🏽. Your reaction didn’t disappoint as usual 😂. Now you need to listen to their songs A Heart Is A House For Love from The 5 Heartbeats soundtrack - and Give Your Baby A Standing Ovation - both are 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Now this is one of my favorite songs of all times. It makes me think about how many good women I let get away. Lawdy and don’t let me get cocktail 🍹 in my hand, memories smh…
This group started in 1953 and didn't end until 2012 that tells you all you need to know out of Harvey Illinois suburbs of Chicago the original name when they first started was the El Rey's
See, my family's on my mother's side originally from St. Louis. So St. Louis is not that far from chicago, and the dalles were it for them, more than the temptations because of that.
The Dells was and will always be one of the great groups of the 70’s. They made some great love Ballards.

Marvin Junior’s voice makes me want fried chicken, potato salad & sweet tea…the very definition of soul.

Hey Ashley 👋🏽. Your reaction didn’t disappoint as usual 😂. Now you need to listen to their songs A Heart Is A House For Love from The 5 Heartbeats soundtrack - and Give Your Baby A Standing Ovation - both are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Dells "I Can Sing The Rainbow/Love Is Blue" is their most powerful song Marvin Junior sing. React to that song. It will blow you away. I promise.
I know Ashley loved this song
Fun Fact: Teddy Pendergrass used to call Marvin Junior "His Daddy" b/c they both have that deep singing but Marvin was older.😂
Marvin influenced Teddy Pendergrass and David Ruffin. It was David Ruffin who nicknamed Marvin "The Iron Throat"
My favorite by The Dells
Johnny Carter singing that high falsetto you hear (One of the Best to do it)
Pure 🔥 🔥 🔥!!!!!!!!!
They were voices of the fictional group, "The Five Heartbeats".
This song was on my love lost, breakup playlist! Listened to this and, otherin painful times! This music got me through! Marvin Junior and the Dells are part of the soundtrack of my life!

This was gr8 I'm old school anyway
See, my family's on my mother's side originally from St. Louis. So St. Louis is not that far from chicago, and the dalles were it for them, more than the temptations because of that.
I know what you sayin'...lol.
You said far gone that’s an understatement ok music has went so far down from one extreme to the other wow
But now the next thing you have to do is play that same song with them performing at live the live version is the best version
From a time when groups did songs in praise of women instead of degrading them.
Ashley you should definitely play The Dru Hill version also I'm sure you would like that as well
Dru Hill did a remake of this hit. You may wanna give that one a lesson as well.
Dru Hill version is dope too
