McAfee's such a dude, man. Lights a guy up, but is upset about not kicking it out of the endzone. Feels like he hurt the team and doesn't care about the tackle. Recovers the onside kick and is rightfully stoked about putting the team in position to capitalize on a call that he predicted would happen. Love this guy's attitude and energy. Wish he still played, and I'm not even a Colts fan.

speaking of awesome kicker moments, my favorite is back around 2000 watching Colorado State vs Air Force in Colorado Springs. CSU is kicking off and the kicker falls on his ass right after kicking the ball away. He gets up, probably embarrassed, and runs down the field. It just so happened that a CSU player hit the returner just right where the ball flew into air, right into the kicker's waiting arms, where he ran untouched into the end zone for an instant touchdown. Wish the highlight existed somewhere on youtube.

You weren't the first to recover your own kick. A kicker from ATL. did it years before you. I'm pretty sure. It might have been Mick Luckhirst, but I'm not positive.
I met Luckhurst in Raleigh, NC. Nice guy. Was with Tim Brant and Marino. Broadcast team for a WFL game I think. Tim is a really cool guy. Dan was a dick that day but perhaps I pushed his buttons a bit. We were in a hotel bar. Funny, I moved to Miami after that. Dan actually shoved me. Had I been smart I should have fallen down and utilized a back injury to finance the move. TBF I’m a Skins fan, I was gloating (few years removed from beating the Fins in the SB) and I may have mentioned that Dan never won the big one. Good times! Now 30 years later there are no more Skins and I’ve been slowly becoming a fan of the Fins.
