- This is part 1 of a 2 part teaching about Tongues and Interpretation of Tongues. Recorded in 1973.
This teaching will increase your faith to interpret when you pray and speak in other tongues.
Paul the Apostle Paul said, I thank my God I speak in tongues. He also said to pray that you would be able to interpret. He also said he prayed in tongues more than the Corinthian Church. Note: Paul was given an abundance of revelation, wrote 2/3rds of the New Testament and had miracles in cities, in jail, on ships and from Paul prayer clothes were taken to the sick. Unclean spirits went out of people and they were healed.
Brother Roberts has said he prays in other tongues every day. He said that when God told him to build a University he did not know how to do it, he prayed in tongues and waited on the Holy Spirit for the interpretation and God showed him how to build ORU.
Kenneth E. Hagin has said that the greatest miracles that have taken place in his ministry took place after extended periods of praying in other tongues.

Absolutely the best message explaining tongues and interpretation I have ever heard. I have had the blessed prayer language since I was 19. I appreciate the message of how it unites the human spirit with the Holy Spirit and how it gets us back to God's original intention that the spirit of man rules over the mind. It is Blasphemy to call the work of the Holy Spirit the work of the Devil!
The Interpretation of Tongues IS NOT the Translation of Tongues. When you pray in other tongues Holy Spirit interprets to your spirit and soul what the Spirit is Saying.
1. THE PROPHET ISAIAH SAID; “For by people of strange lips and with a FOREIGN TONGUE the Lord will speak to this people.” Isaiah 28:11
2. JOHN THE BAPTIST SAID; “As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; HE (JESUS) WILL BAPTIZE YOU WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND FIRE. Matthew 3:11 and in Luke 3:16 John answered and said to them all, “As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; HE WILL BAPTIZE YOU WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND FIRE.
3. JESUS SAID; “And these signs will accompany THOSE WHO BELIEVE: in my name they will cast out demons; THEY WILL SPEAK IN NEW TONGUES.” Mark 16:17
4. In Luke 24:49, JESUS SAID, “Behold, I AM SENDING FORTH THE PROMISE OF MY FATHER upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are CLOTHED WITH POWER FROM ON HIGH.”
5. Is it God’s desire for us to be baptized in His Spirit? JESUS SAID; “If you then, being evil, know how to give GOOD GIFTS to your children, HOW MUCH MORE WILL YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM?” Luke 11:13
6. What physical evidence is there when a believer is FILLED with the Holy Spirit? And they were ALL FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT and BEGAN TO SPEAK IN OTHER TONGUES AS THE SPIRIT GAVE THEM UTTERANCE. Acts 2:4
7. When Paul had laid his hands on them, THE HOLY SPIRIT CAME ON THEM, AND THEY BEGAN SPEAKING IN TONGUES AND PROPHESYING. Acts 19:6
8. Why don’t we understand the words being spoken while speaking in unknown tongues? PAUL TELLS US in 1 Corinthians 14:2 “For one who speaks in a tongue speaks NOT TO MEN BUT TO GOD; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit”. Blasphemers of the Holy Ghost call tongues “gibberish” or “baby talk” God says we are speaking “mysteries in the Spirit”. Read 1 Corinthians 14:14, PAUL SAYS; “For if I pray in a (unknown) tongue, MY SPIRIT (BY THE HOLY SPIRIT) PRAYS BUT MY MIND IS UNFRUITFUL.” God has designed tongues as a secret weapon, you can’t pray wrong or selfish prayers when you pray in unknown tongues!
9. Was Paul opposed to tongues? PAUL SAID in 1 Corinthians 14:18 “I THANK GOD THAT I SPEAK IN TONGUES MORE THAN ALL OF YOU!”. Who wrote 2/3 of the New Testament? Who did the mightiest works of all the Apostles as far as the Bible Records? The same Apostle who spoke in tongues more than all of the Corinthians, PAUL THE APOSTLE!
10. Did the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and Tongues cease when the last Apostle Died? PAUL SAID in 1 Corinthians 13:8 “Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. This verse is usually quoted by blasphemers of the Holy Spirit as evidence that TONGUES have passed away, they fail to point out that this verse also says prophecies and knowledge will pass away. Has knowledge passed away? Have Prophecies passed away? No, but when we get to heaven there will be no need for prophecies and tongues anymore!
THE SCRIPTURES MENTIONED ARE ONLY A FEW THAT TEACH US THAT IT IS UNSCRIPTURAL TO TEACH OTHERS TO RESIST AND QUENCH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HIS GIFTS. UNTIL WE ALL GET TO HEAVEN, WE NEED THESE GIFTS!
I visited ORU in the early 90's and was invited to attend a class with a special guest instructor. I was delighted to discover that Bro. Oral Roberts was the guest instructor-- during his discourse he said that the hardest thing he had to overcome in his healing meetings was that most people believed that God could Heal BUT they did not believe that God would heal the very moment we ask him to- once people believed that- Miracles happened easily. thank God for this pioneer of the healing ministry- paving the way for Benny Hinn and many others.
Amen this was before my time being born in 76. But this is everlasting powerful still fresh today.

Called him not only friend but also his spiritual father before he move he ask Oral Roberts to pray he even safe his life one time Benny Hinn canceled an big meeting because the holy spirit through Oral Robert's said if he go he gonna die
So praise God Benny Hinn obeyed Gods word and was safed..
Oral Robert's was also a great gift from heaven to the church of God

The gift of the Holy Spirit ,when recieved by the believer ,will be confirmed that He has been recieved by the believer by them speaking in tongues.
Afterwards, this it is the believers private prayer language for the individual believers edification.
The gift of speaking in tongues is a different operation of the Holy Spirit and is to be accompanied by a believer with the gift of interpretation so that all present may be edified.
Everyone ,upon recieving the Holy Spirit, will speak in tongues.
There are only three events in scripture to where we are told of believers recieving the Holy Spirit an what happened when they recieved. In each instance the first thing that happened to confirm that they had recieved the Spirit is that they spoke in tongues( Acts ch.2,10,and ch.19).
The gift of speaking in tongues with the intention of it being interpreted not all believers have. But all speak in tongues upon recieving the Holy Spirit.
