I meet a woman after being here 4 years, by then I already had permanent residency.
The spiders and snakes aren’t as bad as you’d think. I have had to catch taipans and brown snakes in the garden and release somewhere else(they kill dogs).
A lot of people don’t notice where I am from, it usually takes them a while to recognise I am not Aussie. They can’t guess danish.. also if I talk with anyone that’s not Aussie they think I am Aussie, because they don’t know what it should sound like.

Well brown snakes and taipans are deadly to humans aswell... adult ones I don’t mess with.. just leave the dogs inside😅😅

I had a similar childhood as you Mike !!! We moved all over the world and the friends I did make along the way I'm still friends with them to this day. They're my family and I treat them as such. You're also right the rat race does get boring I had tons of odd jobs and I was tired of trying to move up the chain and never feeling like I was making it so I also quit my job started up a lawn care service and I am making it and loving every second of my job except the 100 degree days that are associated with living in Texas LOL !!! I help keep my community beautiful and the people who are my clients are also my friends and word of mouth gets around and the more my family has grown....Even though it is just myself doing all the yards I get it done and never miss a appointment and keep my word and it is paying off.... I also left everything behind (business, family, surfing, friends) in 2015 to move to the US after my wife and I tried for 3 years to live in my home country. But for health reasons we had to move to the US for her to be ok. I started basically from scratch. God has been good and we are blessed. Great country. Renewal of your mind Romans 12:2

I am born in bosnia, and i live in holland even my english is pretty ok but that is mostly because of gaming hue hue
English, Swedish and math are the obligatory subjects you MUST reach at least E in, if you want to have a fighting chance in life lol. I’m pretty sure that’s how it is in all west-European countries, but i can say for sure that’s how it is here in Sweden.
The younger generations all speak fluent (or close to) English in the well developed areas of europe, especially in Scandinavia.
Oh and it’s easier for us Swedes than, say, French. Swedish and English are both Germanic languages unlike French😉 Ha det gött!
