    Great video. We own a beach front property in Fort Morgan. We prefer Fort Morgan over Gulf Shores proper because of less foot traffic. Having said that, the entire Alabama beach from Mississippi to Florida is incredible. I was actually down at the condo 2 weeks after you recorded this. As I’ve gotten older, I prefer this time frame because the weather is cool and there aren’t many people. Once it starts to heat up I tend to not go down and wait it out until the off season. Anyway, again, nice video and really enjoyed seeing some of the well known establishments down there.

    Thank you for this video! Isn't it beautiful down there? I've been all over the world, and I prefer it there ... nice people, small town, not too rowdy but still fun if you know where to go, lots of nature, great beaches, good food, boating, sailing, fishing. I hope you are all doing ok down there with all that is going on right now. Subscribed.

    Looking to go to Gulf Shores this Summer. I have a question, if I go to Gulf Shores, will this be the area of beach I'll see? In other words, is this a small beach or is this just a small area of it?

    • @GregWarrenOrangeBeachAL
      @GregWarrenOrangeBeachAL  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Small area of Gulf Shores. This is the city owned portion. Including Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Fort Morgan there’s about 32 continuous miles of beach

    In your personal opinion, what is a good family boys (10 and 17) less crowded beach with the clearest water. We will be staying at sea oats in beginning of August. Thank you beautiful videos.

    • @GregWarrenOrangeBeachAL
      @GregWarrenOrangeBeachAL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a few different options here are my opinions with different factors. August will be pretty crowded at all of the beach accesses but the lesser of these tends to be at the Shell lot beach access. It’s a state park entrance located just over the Perdido Pass Bridge in Orange Beach. There is another beach access located below the bridge that tends to get quite crowded and the water on the pass side usually has a pretty strong current and deep drop offs. Note starting this year all of the beach accesses will charge a parking fee that is scheduled to start around Spring Break. The Cotton Bayou beach access is a very nice location and has a bath house facility but parking fills up quick during the summer months. Roman Beach Access is nice but only has porta John bathroom facilities. Moving on over towards Gulf Shores the State Park Pavilion has plenty of parking, snacks, bathroom areas and a covered pavilion to escape the sun. In Gulf Shores the public beach access at the Hangout restaurant has the largest beach with bathrooms, food options, but tends to be the most crowded

    • @shandahughes9537
      @shandahughes9537 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GregWarrenOrangeBeachAL wow thank you for that information. Is there a way to get a local map with these local beaches on them? Also do you know know anything about local fishing areas just for fun fishing? We are thinking about staying at sea oats because has the beach access and lagoon, but is there any other areas to search where you have walking access to both waters? Ive spent so much time on computer my eyes hurt lol. We bringing dogs too so that limits us as well. Thank you so much again!

    • @GregWarrenOrangeBeachAL
      @GregWarrenOrangeBeachAL  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The visitors center in Gulf Shores and Orange Besch usually have paper maps to give out. As for fishing areas, there’s the Gulf State Park Pier, there’s a fishing boardwalk area under the perdido pass bridge, there’s beach/lake/bay fishing. Does require a saltwater fishing license that can be purchased at Walmart and other places. There are also inshore fishing charters and of course off shore fishing charters. Dogs aren’t allowed on any of the gulf front beaches in Orange Besch of Gulf Shores. There is a dog friendly Besch area down near Fort Morgan and a dog park beach located on lake Shelby at the gulf state park across the street from the beach and gulf state park pier

      I haven't had a chance to check at the State Park Pavilion. I do know they have redone the boardwalks at Romar Beach Access and Cotton Bayou Beach Access and have added sloping ramps at each of these. These are both in Orange Beach just to the east of the State Park Pavilion and are state park beaches.

      Thank you for subscribing. If you like historical things the. Fort at Fort Morgan is pretty cool. There’s a car ferry near the Fort that can take you across Mobile Bay to Dauphin Island. There’s another Fort on Dauphin Island (Fort Gaines). There is Dauphin Island Sea Lab where you can see examples of sea life in the surrounding gulf waters. The USS Alabama Battleship Park is in Mobile. There are a few of the dolphin cruises that still operate that time of year in Orange Beach. It’s not reopened yet but if it does Pensacola Naval Airstatiin has a lighthouse and an air museum you can tour. OWA in Foley has shops, restaurants and an amusement park. A few of the game arcades and putt putt golf are open during the holiday season. Gulf State Park has a lot of hiking, biking trails where you can see all kinds of native animals, alligators, bobcats, bald eagles etc. There is Alligator Alley in Summerdale. There’s tons to do and most days is plenty warm enough for a relaxing beach day. I have a few videos on my channel of a few of these, just look in the Orange Beach playlist. You will have a great time here.

    • @GregWarrenOrangeBeachAL
      @GregWarrenOrangeBeachAL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on what you like to do. Gulf Shores is more walkable the closer you are to hwy 59. Nothing is really far away unless you stay out towards fort Morgan. If you want to be more
      In the middle of restaurants and shops this is the area for you. If you want more space to yourself and a little less crowded beaches you’d want to go more west of 59 and down towards ft Morgan. I live in Orange Beach and everything is pretty equally spread out. Not as walkable as the center of Gulf Shores, but still really nice.
