Hi George. I commented on your first video. I have the open-center Aravis model. It felt comfortable from the beginning. I have close to 200 miles on mine and apply Chemical Guys leather condition after every couple of rides (they are only 20 to 30 miles.) To the touch, the leather feels hard. However, the leather flexes, yet is supportive, and that is the reason it is comfortable from my experience. A long ride for me is 50 miles. I look forward to your long-term ride review.
Hi George, yeah the dip looks really quite pronounced compared to the unboxing video. How much did you have to tighten it? Was it visibly flat again after the adjustment?
I always loved the look of the Brooks brass riveted saddles but ouch! They took a long time to break in. That's a good looking saddle. I guess I could go back to chamois creme too! Lol
Hi George. I've just returned a Gilles Berthoud saddle because it sagged too much, too early (one month). It seems to me that the need to tension so early is a sign that the quality of the leather is not good enough. Three months later, how are you getting on?
I wouldn’t have taken that saddle back. Furthermore, GB saddles are of exceptional quality. I think you don’t know enough about GB as a company and you didn’t set up your expectations properly. You should have kept that saddle and enjoyed it for next 25 years as it would perfectly formed to your undercarriage
I am very happy but it’s not Brevet season (winter here) at the moment so I’m also extremely happy with my SQ Lab saddle. I just did 169 miles or 271 km on it on Saturday. The GB saddle is for my 400km and above 600km and 1200 km which are not for another 4-6 months. I have only tightened one time after this video. George does this mean it was a comfortable saddle for you? What is the pricing on this saddle? This is a surprising choice, but I assume there was a reason for getting this type and brand of saddle. Throw these answers in another video of you wish.
I spoke about my curiosity for this saddle in the unboxing video. Have you watched it yet? It might answer some of your questions. Let me know if you have more questions that were unanswered.

Hello and thanks for watching and taking the time to post a comment. I haven' been riding this saddle. I originally purchased it so that I could ride it on events longer than 600km. I ride an SQ Lab saddle for 600km and I'm really comfortable on it. I don't know when I will ride something longer and will need the GB saddle. I did a 600km with 8K climbing (26,540 feet) on May 4/5 32 hours and I was fine on my SQ Lab. I have another 600km this weekend. I probably should get back on the GB just for fun.
it's nice that the structural leather can break in - i.e. permanently deform to suit. unfortunately, that also becomes the problem when it gets wet. can't have it absorb water and then stress it, especially the underside. this saddle needs fenders if riding wet.
Mate I have had that exact same saddle for 5 years now and I wouldn’t ever buy another saddle. So good
I’m really happy with it so far! Thanks for watching please consider subscribing

Hello Carl - it seemed like I had to tighten it quite a bit. I think it was fairly flat after the adjustment

I totally agree!
Great first review George sounds promising I’d like to try one of these saddles very nice 😃😃👍🚴🏻🥇Pete

it only bothers me that the rails dont allow more setback, otherwise I love my berthoud saddle
I agree 100% with you. I feel I could use a little more setback as well.

@@SeeYouUpTheRoad How would you say it compares to the SQLab saddle you are riding now? Would you still consider the Galibier?
