@9:48 I’ve told tons of people that golf is the closest thing to street skating that I’ve found as I’ve gotten older. The “course” is ever changing, and “plays” differently depending on the weather, your physical and mental abilities for that day, and what skill level you’ve achieved. They are both very individual sports, which take dedication and tons of hours of practice to become good at. Neither is something anyone can master, and no “swing” is the same. Also, you “fall” a lot more than you land, but the feeling you get when you pull something off in either discipline is euphoric. 🤟🏼🏌️🏂🔥❤️

So true. Which do you find harder?

    • @paulpanamarenko

@@RandomGolfClubFilms Golf by a mile. I wasn’t ever really nervous when I skated. I guess full commitment is the only way to skate. It leaves no room for nerves. I never woke up not remembering how to do a kick flip. I do lose my driver swing or putter stroke. Don’t ever know why, but some days it just isn’t there. Maybe the difference is in the seeming finality of a golf shot. Every stroke counts...as it were. In skating, everyone falls a million times trying something, but there isn’t a score card to tell you’re 9 over. You just get back up, and do it again. Also, you don’t pay anything to skate in the streets. I think if we were allowed to play courses as long as we wanted in any order we wanted, and even sit on holes and practice different shots over and over, it might be as free feeling as skateboarding. Bet people would get a lot better way faster.

Great vid. What Alex is saying about the "alternative sports" liking golf is so true. When I first started working part time at a golf course in Jax (Marsh Landing CC) my fellow surfer/co-workers and myself would constantly rag on golf. Make fun of the ppl who went and played by themselves, etc. We thought golf was boring and dumb. Well, over 10 years later and we still work there part time for the free golf and lets just say we all golf way more than we surf now...

Every time I watch one of your videos, I come away completely inspired. I only recently found your channel as I've been sincerely trying to improve my game and - subsequently - learn more about it and all it has to offer. What an amazing find, to stumble upon someone so dedicated to their craft. Someone who spends so much time and energy in giving back to the community through the lens of a camera. The way you and your team put together these films with such care and attention to detail (I'm sure many shot tracers are as painful to create as they are satisfying), just shines through in every piece that you guys put out.
If you're most proud of the moments you affected people in some way, then you should be proud of the impact you've had on me. I'm not anybody noteworthy, but I've recently broken out on my own in search of creating content and videos that are important to me - just as you do every day of your life. Your films have had a profound impact on the way that I've looked at filmmaking and inspire me to just do everything that much better. And your passion and love for the game make me want to include more of it in my own content to give back to something that has, and continues, to teach me discipline, poise, and above all - how to let go and have fun.
From the bottom of my heart - sincerely and genuinely - thank you for all you and your team do. Watching your videos have gotten me out of slumps and inspired me to shift my own perspective in creating, and in life.
By the way, great episode! Very interesting insight into how such a high caliber athlete approaches not only his own craft - but life in general. Always looking for more reminders to stay present. Peace!

Love this kind of content on here! I think this type of stuff is what brings the average golfer to the channel.
Here’s a comment I left on the “Kevin from Office Space” video in which I talk about wanting more Golf tutorial type videos out of this channel. I really think it’s what most YT Golf watchers look from in a channel.
How has this channel yet to blow up since this video?!? It’s been almost two years since I’ve seen it/it was published and there it is in my recommendations today (December 15th, the year of our lord... well maybe the year of the devil, 2020). I really don’t understand it. The production level, the caliber of star guests they’ve had on the show over the years whether that be a celebrity or a pro golfer/athlete, the amount of stellar content produced, how EAL has given back to the golf community and is/was(?) on The Golf Channel! It amazes me.
The only things I can think of that this channel is doing differently from others that are more successful are:
    - There are very few to zero golfing tutorials
    - The channel basically sticks to course vlog type material, although with the podcast it’s gotten a bit more diversity
    - EAL jumping from channel to channel doing different shows. You would think it would help garner more viewers to the main channel. But it the viewers get the idea that one of the other channels EAL is on is the main channel they may never find the official one. Which brings me to my main thought of how and the this channel hasn’t grown to where I think it deserves being...
    - The change in branding over the years. Didn’t it start off on Skratch & had segments featured on the actual Golf Channel, then went to EAL & now the channels name is Random Golf Club Films. (I know that when I stopped watching the channel, as I inevitably do, at the beginning of every winter because I’m bummed I can’t be playing golf outdoors and these vids just make me jealous lol. But then that ever lasting itch to play becomes so out of control that I must give it a little Skratch, thus coming back to Golf TH-cam. This winter, in the year of our lord/devil/ 2020, I had trouble finding the channel for a second and genuinely had to go thru the shows archive to the last episode I watched just to make sure it’s not a different/new channel. I can imagine that can cause some difficulties in maintaining a fanbase. Who knows though?)
I don’t know if anyone will ever read this... but if even one of the guys behind the scenes happens to and they get the tiniest of insight from a subscriber who obviously loves the game of golf and also looks at content production extremely analytically due to my media communications background leads to one new subscriber than the time typing this out would have been worth it. There’s only two YT channels that have changed my view of golf: This one & Golf Sidekick. Golf Sidekick has taught me how to play with much better course management that’s helped dropped my score as well as another thing this channel does. That thing is helping me appreciate that game in ways I never have before. As in looking at the game from less of an individual sport where you are just trying to lower your score to a place where you come to have fun and be with friends and family... sometime even your dog! Believe it or not that was a big eye opener to me that the classic courses in Scotland (I believe it is) would shut down the courses on Sundays so family’s could come and us it as a park, as well as them allowing the golfers to bring their dogs on the course. That was very heart warming to me, the same way the Dear Golf segments are.
I’m gonna stop rambling on and on now and wish anyone who happens to read this the best of days and a healthy and happy life. ✌️
