Yet another great lesson in life from the Civil War era and the larger than life people who lived then. We need their names and what they did so that in remembering them and they and the good they did, live on. Lord knows, our country and its people desperately NEED these sorts of lessons in its current state of affairs. The lesson here, in my opinion, is that grave mistakes of youth can be rectified and turned completely around if loving and wise family can effectively intervene before it is too late. Of course, the young person must also be wise and mentally flexible enough to realize his/her mistakes too. Indeed, a rare combination. Most of us don't even get one of these.
Listening to your words seems quite intimate. It is as though I am reading a passage in a book, pausing occasionally to contemplate on decisive often tumultuous moments that have long since occured and been dismissed. Thanks again, I do enjoy having coffee with you each morning and listening to your stories.

The photo at 6:35 seems to show a Medal of Honor. Is it? And if so, what's the story behind it being awarded to Sterling? Respectfully, W.S.
