I have the same actuator on my 2009 TRV 400 H1. I can't find the screws/bolts to remove it. You said they is one behind, but I can't see it. I see one below it though. I can't see the other on the left.
It should not be our job to keep fixing the manufacturer mistakes. A brand like Arctic Cat should stand behind their products and where there are massive mistakes like these electronic 4x4 actuators they should be re-designing and making available a much better product for future fixes. I have the 2008 366cc model and currently waiting for a manual engaging replacement some guy 3d-prints (LaSound) that should do the trick for a fraction of the faulty replacements.
I have a 2012 artic cat 700 trv I noticed today it looks wet around the wire area going into the actuator. The fluid smelled like gear oil. Do the actuators have gear oil inside them?
Hi . Not on this model at any rate. It was completely dry inside and well sealed to stay that way as all the electronics are open to the entire cavity. The pawl going directly into the front diff gear case which this hooks to has its own seal as well. Hope that helps
My '12 artic cat 550 makes these noises when shifting in an out of 4x4 4 lock, but my tires are not spinning. Like it's not engaging or something. Any ideas?
You could remove the shift control and engage/disengage to see if all is well with it. On some units a broken axle or a broken cv joint will cause no power being applied to the front wheels as well
Floridaboy97 Not that I know of but because dealers say this unit is not serviceable they may have a complete actuator that was deemed failed they would give you or possibly at a wrecker.

yours is in good shape, mine was corroded, I jammed into 4wd and left it, i have a full time 4wd now but ok for me

I took my apart and motor seized, so I turned the gears to 2 wheel drive and installed it. sorry yet to try it .

it stopped working when it was freezing outside...
is there anywhere I can buy the relay that is behind the motor for the actuator everything is good except that relay

their should be a serial number on that relay google that number it should pullit right up

As mentioned in the video I chose Permatex Right Stuff sealant. I find it to be one of the best
Same actuator as a TRV700 i think.. That piece is expensive as f** it will cost me around 400$Ca for a brand new :(
Yes I believe I was quoted just over 500 . This fix is still working as of today so was time well spent
