Ordered cruise planner but got nothing down loaded
Best cruiser was taking my mother 80yrs on her last cruise. She was a travel agent and cruises were her favorite trips, she got me started. I pushed her all around San Juan in a wheelchair, all day on our last day, definitely worth it! If you have someone that has loved cruising, take them before they can no longer physically go, you'll never regret it.
100% agree. I was able to do that for my mom too. Pushing her around in wheelchair and also letting her walk a bit while I guarded her from the crowd.
I’m going on a cruise myself with my mom in a few days and my mom has spine problems (she’s pushing 70) so she may think this European cruise might be her one and only opportunity to move around more robustly before her spine problems become potentially worse

Have been on two 15 day cruises to Hawaii over the holidays and LOVED it. Love sea days. So relaxing and filled with activities if that is your preference.
Next cruise for us - Oceania Vista round trip from Miami. Southeastern Caribbean. Our 2nd with Oceania, and love the small ships and fabulous food! Really enjoying your channel! :)

We are your age, Canadian and love your channel. When you brought up your drink we howled!! Her fav drink as well and all because she discovered it on the drink package. Our mindset is very similar and enjoy every episode. Thank you.

i was with you on vegas until i went, Caesars palace really was impressive.
Can you please do a video about re-pricing and how it works? I booked a cruise for May of 2023 in Sept. 2022 and I see prices have changed, but my travel agent said the cost of the cruise has actually gone up. My confirmation says it's priced at $6,149 per passenger, but when I looked on the website the same cruise and class level was listed at $4,899. I am not understanding how price adjustments work.
I’m a retired airline pilot and hate setting in the back of an airplane for 8 to 10 hours. My wife is French so we come to France at least once a year. We are boarding the MSC Seashore on Sunday in Marseille end up in Miami 17 days later 5 ports along the way. This will be our 6th transatlantic crossing. We are retired and in no rush and cheaper and less grief than flying.
Our favorite cruise line is Windstar we have spent over 180 nights on them. They are a small small ship only have a max capacity of 310 passengers. It’s like being on your own private yacht. Being a retired pilot they have an open bridge policy where I spend most of my time. They a lot of places big ships can’t go. A total different experience than the big ships

I am sailing on her again to Alaska with my best friend and 24 year old daughter. September 1st out of Seattle. That might be a good time for you to see Alaska too!!!

May 2023 is my and my husband’s first cruise. First real vacation together. We’re going on a 7 day western Caribbean cruise with Harmony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean. We are sooo excited! I never thought I would be someone who goes on cruises. And after almost losing my husband at 35 years old to a brain aneurysm/coma. We are getting a lot of bucket list items done! Life’s too short to not enjoy your life. ❤

Congrats on the 100K subscribers! This year we did an Alaska cruise and LOVED it, did the one way and then rented car and traveled for 4 days. It’s an amazing trip. Upcoming cruises are Canada and an 11 day Mediterranean.

I'm going on my first Cruise in August on the Emerald Princess. I've watched a lot of your videos, they're so helpful. We're going on our honeymoon to Hawaii from LA. (We're English). This is my holiday of a lifetime. We've been together 10 years and have never had a holiday because I got sick within 6 months of meeting my husband. I had to have a double organ transplant, that was 4 years ago. We got married last september and now I'm so excited to be going on this Cruise. We plan to do many more as well. Have you ever talked to someone who lives in Alaska before making your Alaska reports. Fact no 1 most Alaskans think of bald eagles and whales are a neucence. Moose belong in the freezer, Cruse ships go to 5 % of Alaska, Cruse ships have ruined several towns in SW Alaska. I have commercial fished in most ports in Alaska for 45 years, seen it all. Look into the rest of our great state

Congratulations on your 100K achievement! Well deserved! My wife and I most always sip on a glass of Champagne while watching your videos. We have three cruises currently scheduled for 2023 - our first in February a 10-day cruise on the Enchanted Princess to the Caribbean out of Port Everglades. Then we have a cruise to Bermuda scheduled for June and a repositioning cruise scheduled for September from Tampa to Boston - both with Royal Caribbean. I totally agree with the "all of the above" response to how to choose cruises. We have preferred lines, and also ships within the lines...and we sometimes deviate for itineraries. I agree with almost everything you said. My longest cruise is 28 days. In general I believe that longer is better--by the time I spend the time, money, and effort, I may as well enjoy the ship for a while. I really don't have any interest in going past that 28 days (b2b), but it was great as each time we went over 24 days, it was two different itineraries on the same ship. For people worrying about quality, I've found it to range from good to excellent depending more on the cruise line than anything. And the "right" line for us has changed over the years as ages and family situations have changed.

No cruising for us in 2023 because I want to finish my dissertation for December 2023 graduation. But 2024 will be Gary Bembridge's (Tips for Travellers) HAL Panama Canal Members' cruise. Perhaps you should consider sailing on his group cruise and learn the ins and outs from Gary!?!?

We have found that our most relaxing cruises, if that is your goal, is when only one of us takes Wi-Fi to keep in touch with my husbands work. We retire at the end of the year so that won’t be a thing anymore, we’ll go back to the old days where we’ll tell people where we are and they can find us if they need to.
Our most relaxing cruise is best far has been when the restart happened and cruises were sailing at 50% or less capacity. In the real world, we have discovered that nine or 10 day cruises are the best for us, for relaxation, exactly as you have found.
Also we have decided as we get further and further away from home cruising and otherwise traveling, we take out annual insurance. It gives us delay of trip, loss reimbursements, change of plans allowances and cancellation. Our number one reason was two has plenty of coverage should we have to be medevac from a foreign country far away or spend significant amounts of time in rehab before we could come home. We always travel with a passport for the same reasons.

Try an Asian cruise out of Singapore. (An amazing city / country)
Cruising is wonderful BUT PLEASE go not forget there are beautiful, amazing places to visit on road trips: Colorado , the Smokey Mountains, Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and the many National Parks, Galveston Island , just to name a few. You will not regret these very exciting destinations ❤

My boyfriend and I and possibly some friends are going on a Carnival cruise for my birthday in May on the Celebration. I cannot wait. Will be my 3rd cruise
Love your videos, I just realized by watching this one what that plaque is that you have sitting on the table behind you when you make your newer videos! We are cruising on a land/cruise in 2025 on Holland America and I am over the top excited! I can’t watch enough videos. It’s a 12 day package but we are arriving two days early in Fairbanks to acclimate and start to chillax! Thanks for all you do, and yes I would be interested join you and others who follow you on a group tour.
My ideal cruise length is 20 to 40 days. It helps offset the pricey air and pre cruise hotel. And I only bring carry-on luggage. One small bag and a back pack. I am Elite on Princess and get FREE, UNLIMITED, laundry and dry cleaning, so I only need minimal clothing. (An advantage of being a guy. LOL)
20 to 40 days? I get 10 vacation days a year, lol.

We’ve been to many since 2002, which was my first and it was to Alaska in Celebrity Summit and it was only me and my mother in law.
My husband and me have been to many others since that and NeXT May we intend to cruise to Alaska, because I want so much that he can go there! I loved it!
Every cruise I’ve been to was great, except one to caribean and it was horrible in every meaning!
Congrats on the milestone. I have 2 cruises booked with the first coming in 10 days. I have to agree with you that Celebrity has become my favorite cruise line. Was loyal to Royal for many years but as I’ve aged, Celebrity has become my fav.

My dad refuses to fly over water, so the only way my mom could ever got to Hawaii is via a cruise. Over black Friday I was comparing Princess cruises and decided to book the 15 day Hawaiian one. My parents will be coming along and my mom will finally get to see Hawaii. I am super stoked and a lot of it was from research done with a lot of your videos on cruises and cruise lines. You Princess vs Celebrity video is the one that did it in for us, that along with Princes offering the Plus and Premium packages made us chose that route.

We LOVE that cruise! We just got back from the 17 cruise to Hawaii on the Sapphire Princess, and we booked it again for next year.. it was fantastic! We missed going to Hilo because of the weather, and we missed Mauna Loa erupting by 2 days, but we feel we didn't really miss anything except the possibility of hitting big waves. The Captain chose caution.. great time on that adventure.. Kauai was wonderful.. even Honolulu was fun (I don't usually like Honolulu just because I live in Los Angeles, and it's so much like Santa Monica..) as it was all decorated for Christmas and we hung out at the Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki for a few hours. Kauai.. so magical.. and even Ensenada was beautiful. I have big love for the Big Island and not only will we cruise there, but we'll fly over and spend a couple of weeks next year.. BIG LOVE for the Sapphire Princess and this cruise experience.

Well me and my wife will not go on Carnival again. We've been on it twice and both times very disappointed in the cruise and the passengers on board as well. How they conducted themselves in front of my life.
Agree. Been on 4 separate Carnival cruises and have given up on them. Last cruise about 5 years ago was the last one.

We've been on 3 and the last one in a suite. And all 3 were disappointing in various ways. So it's we will not be cruising with them again.
I have enjoyed Carnival with my kids who are young adults. However, my last cruise was annoying because of the people with babies and toddlers. They allowed their babies to crawl upstairs, touch the jewelry cabinets and they basically treated the ship like it was their kid’s playpen. School age kid 5+ are fine but it’s not a baby nursery for me. Otherwise the newer Carnival ships are lovely and a great time!

My husband and I live in Northern BC and relate to your comments about craving warm destinations. Never cruised before so are starting with a 6 night cruise on Celebrity Summit to see if we enjoy cruising. I am a planner so am very appreciative and grateful for all you videos. We’ve cruised 40+ times, but never 3weeks. So excited!! We are retired & live on the west coast, California. Coming from Australia we go for longer Cruises if they are out of our area. Our next cruise is leaving from Southampton at the end of May, so 24hrs flight we have to make the most of it. We have 10 & 11 days back to back doing UK & Baltics 😊
My husband and I are taking our first cruise ever...he actually cruised once, years ago, but first for me. We are flying to Greece for a 7 day cruise. I have been watching you for 5 months and refer to you as a friend! I tell my husband "Illana said"...he's left it up to me to prepare and pack knowing we are in good hands. Worst cruise was 2000 on Carnival Holiday, LA to Ensenada, 3 day party cruise. Hated it. Next was NCL Pearl Alaska, made me want to go again. Our best (7th) was Island Princess LA to Fort Lauderdale in April 2022. Loved it so much, we now have 3 Princess cruises booked (Nov23 Carib, April 24, Mexico Rivera, and Sept 24, Alaska. All on Princess (we are 70+}.
Please don't wait until something happens to do the bucket list. Do it now. You never who it may "happen to." 😢 My 22 y G and 17 y G lost their Dad to brain cancer last year.

I hope you enjoy the Beyond as much if not more then we did. It was our first Celebrity cruise after 30+ cruises with Princess. I found the gym on the second last day lol. Enough said. We are planning on including Celebrity with our Princess cruises. Again, enjoy.
Hi Iliana - thank you for the BEST you tube on cruising, I love your information, we are doing a celebrity cruise on Reflection (an older ship I believe) in May - 9 nights to the Mediterranean departing ex Barcelona through to Rome. I'v e only ever cruised on QM2 from Quebec to NYC in 2019, (visited Montreal and Toronto prior to cruise, your city Montreal is absolutely georgeus, I was there in Autumn and the colours were amazing) then covid stopped everything. We are from Australia so fly to most ports, but Always have 4-5 nights in departure ports, as I've not been to Barcelona before and to go all that way and only be overnight is such a waste. We.ve then got 4 nts in Rome then fly to Paris and have 5 nts there (love Paris, been a few times, wish I spoke French!) Thank you again, cant wait for your next video... Joan xxxx

We have at least 2 things in common: 1) I am from Montreal too. 2) I will never visit Dubai! The thought they could cut your hand or stone you or kill you for something silly kinda turn me off somehow LOL! Also, from what I heard, the temperature there is silly hot. Like 50 celcius hot in the day. So... NO THANKS :)

Hello.... Greetings from Northeast Ohio. My wife and i subscribed to your channel recently as we love your content and all the great advice.
We are going on our 4th cruise on October 14th 2023 and our first with Celebrity on Equinox for a 8 day southern Caribbean in Aqua Class to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.
We are also looking to go on Celebrity Beyond in April 2024 as well with another couple we are close with that introduced my wife and I at there wedding.
We look forward to cruising Celebrity as we have herd positive reviews on our channel with youtube as well as other sites.
We have cruised with Norwegian 1993 2017 and Carnival 2004 when we were younger but want to try Celebrity being we are 55yrs old now and we are looking for more luxury etc. Lol.
I would llike to ask what your thoughts are on Celebrity Equinox and Beyond ?

We are sailing on an 11 day out of New York next month (Feb 2023). we have done a 10 day, and then a back to back 5+4 daya.
The other 10 cruises were 7 days except one 6-days. When we fly to Florida from Moncton, NB, we like a 7 days plus 7 vacation days pre and post cruise as airfare from Canada is quite expensive and not worth it for a 7 day vacation. Merci for the great channel.
We went on a Carnival cruise back un 2011. It was my first but mother did a couple. She dodnt like it but like you said she yraveled royal and another one. I didnt havw anythung to compair it to plus i was there to celebrate my grandmothers 80th birthday. I enjoyed being at sea. I'm going o Norwegion Nov 2024, which will be my second cruise. I am planning on doing more.

My first cruise, 1979. Honeymoon. Bahamas on Italian ship, no longer in service. Have been on several after that. Favorite one Norwegian Cruise Line to Alaska. 40 year anniversary, Bahamas. We got off and a young man asked me if I had been in the Bahamas before. I said yes. He asked me why hadn’t he hadn’t ever seen me before. I told him, ‘you weren’t even born yet’ Very strange.
Hi Iilana. My husband and I are about to do our very first cruise out of Fremantle Australia to Capetown South Africa. It will be 17 days at sea on The Queen Mary, we are a little bit excited. Although over and above the expense, we, as Aussie, question paying gratuities? Then the drinks package on offer for the two of us was to cost $3500 AUD (a huge amount of money) for the trip. We have decided it is not worth it. May I have your thoughts on both topics if on a long voyage, please 🙏
$2912 is what it would cost for me to purchase a deluxe drink package for my cruise booked in March which I haven’t purchased- surprise!!! This is also at a discounted buy one and the second person gets 50% off. I’m cruising to New Zealand for 13 days - 5 days are port days . There is no possibility of me getting my money’s worth of alcoholic beverages without doing remarkable damage to my liver and brain. I would have to be drinking myself unconscious with prices like this. When you cruise in Australia there are no gratuities- we tip our room attendants and waiters only and there are no supposed gratuities fees. I think this has now been solved with the exorbitant cost of the drinks package . But next week I’m on a comedy cruise with another cruise line for 4 days - again the alcohol packages are expensive but the soda packages are cheap- $10 per person per day which is more reasonable. FYI the 13 night cruise is with Royal Caribbean and the comedy cruise is with P&O.
Hi. Ilana. I so enjoy your very informative videos. I’ve been on cruises before but have recently got some great ideas fir our next cruise, I have a list for the Dollar Tree store. I never thought of magnetic hooks and clips and the tea light night lights. Great idea. My sister and I are going on Celebrity Silhouette in May to Scandavia - Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, leaving from Southampton, UK. It’s been a wish last for a long time and it’s finally coming to fruition. It’s our 3rd attempt since the pandemic hit. Like you we prefer Celebrity too.
