    The best Fusion 360 tutorials out there. I know Lars initially got me going but these videos are not fluffed with annoying music, not long winded and filled with advertisements. thank you.

      Thank you for the kind words. I'm trying not to fill these with ads, but trying to keep a balance on it. So far for this video series, I have a couple hundred bucks in for the tools I bought and material. Those tools will last me a long time however. I think in the long run the content will be worth it.

    Absolutely some of the BEST instructional Fusion videos on the Tube!! Thank you for this practical full process series. Keep up the great videos, I am learning every video.

      Good. I've been working ahead to make sure these keep coming out. I have a trip to Florida coming up the week of February 6th, so I need to make sure I have everything done and ready for that week while I'm out.
      Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you find them useful.

    Fantastic instruction!!!
    I’m far enough along that I can follow this 👍🏼
    But I’m learning sooo much so fast I have to keep these and probably watch them ten times to make this all sink in past the grey hair 👨🏻‍🦳
    Fantastic!!🎉
    Thanks 🙏🏼

      Thank you so much for letting me know. It's nice to hear the things shown are helpful. We still have quite a few parts i this series to come.

    I had never seen the slice command used like that, looks very helpful!

      Hi Adam. I hope you use the hell out of that one going forward. Look for a video coming up that shows some other methods to slice your part that are useful. I showed one of them when I did the CAM toolpathing for the cylinder. Thanks for the comment.

      @@MechanicalAdvantage what I learn from your videos is to simplify my sketches. Coming from a drafting background I was trying to define everything in a sketch. Working from a simple sketch to define what is minimally needed, and then using features (holes, fillets, etc) and mirror and/or patterning not only is faster, but making changes is easier to do.

    One very quick question: you are using quite a few little shortcuts to speed up the modeling, so why draw in the revolve axis for the domes when the part is anchored to the origin and so the Z axis could be selected rather than the sketch lines?
    With my work background, using the inbuilt coordinate system seems to be the obvious thing to do, especially as it can also be selected from the browser if it's not showing in the model.
    Great material, and presented in a way that's quick and easy to follow. Thanks heaps Kevin.

    • @MechanicalAdvantage
      @MechanicalAdvantage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can't revolve a profile that crosses the centerline. That would result in a self-intersecting body that isn't allowed. I could have drawn half of each dome and then drew the vertical line as a centerline, and when I dimensioned that, It would have given me diameters. I went the slightly simpler route that wouldn't take as much explaining in the video. The vertical lines were just to divide the two domes into halves. I could also selected the axis as the revolve axis. In this case, I didn't think it mattered much since I needed that helper vertical line to split the dome into two halves.

    Another excellent video. Thanks Kevin. When you’re modeling an assembly with multiple components do you always create your sketches inside the individual component or do them at the parent level? Thanks

    • @MechanicalAdvantage
      @MechanicalAdvantage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I sure try to. It can be easy to mess up when you are in a groove and forget to activeate a component first. Unless I'm trying to do something complex, I try to keep my sketches in the component they belong to. When I need to create sketches or geometry that for CAM things, I usually do those at the root of the design. That is my way to keep track of what those sketches and bodies etc. are for.
      I'm glad you liked the video.

    Kevin, Your teaching methods are great. Big help getting me from beginner to at least "advanced beginner"!. I am 3d printing the parts as we go for prototyping and waiting on the extra motivation to complete my PM 728 CNC conversion, which has been at 98% for 6 months now :( I was wondering if this project is intended to produce a working steam/air engine when you are complete? Thanks for the awesome content...

    • @MechanicalAdvantage
      @MechanicalAdvantage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm glad you are liking the content. Thanks for letting me know. This engine will be marginally functional. There will be a knob on the crank shaft that you can turn by hand. That is what creates the motion.

    I had to reinstall Fusion 360 on my laptop and now the solid model is very unstable while zooming in / turning - didn't have that problem before , can it be fixed in " preferences " or is there other way?

    • @MechanicalAdvantage
      @MechanicalAdvantage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Boy, I'm not sure. I wonder if you were using free orbit and now you are using constrained orbit? Can you have a look for that under preferences in General?
