    Dooku taking wealth from his people is hypocritical, but sadly inevitable. He kept making compromises along the way in the name of greater good that he lost sight to the of his real goal. That happens all the time. It is similar to what happened to Anakin. Two people who became Sith for good reasons, but quickly lost sight of their original goals and became consumed by a lust for power. I like that, because it adds weight to the dangers of the dark side.

    • @Mourtzouphlos240

      No.
      “Some of the people had a hard time with the reason that Anakin goes bad… They didn’t seem to understand the fact that Anakin is simply greedy. There is no revenge. The revenge of the Sith is Palpatine. It doesn’t have much to do with Darth Vader; he’s a pawn in the whole scheme.”

      @@Mourtzouphlos240 GL can say that but the scripts and visuals of the movies, and even the Clone Wars series, tell a VERY different story. I don't care if he said that or not, there's clearly more than greed.

    • @Jjop017
      @Jjop017 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      @@Mourtzouphlos240 I don’t think Anakin being greedy and initially having a good reason for turning to the dark side have to be two completely different things. Anakin was afraid Padme would die and turned to the dark side to save her. He believed saving his wife was a good reason. As he embraced the dark side more and more Anakin’s goals shifted to overthrowing the Emperor and ruling the galaxy alongside Padme. Anakin still had a good reason initially, but the lure of dark side got to him and became about obtaining power, which is greedy. It is similar to Dooku at least wanting to bring order to the galaxy before losing his way and becoming the corruption he wanted to destroy.

    I like the way Wilco was written. He was 100% loyal to the Empire, but you could tell that he was still a good guy at heart, who cared for his brothers. One thing I feared when this show started was that they would make all clone captains into mindless evil killers. I am happy to see that the writers are not afraid to show clones that are still the same guys we saw in TCW, but are just doing their job. There was no forced redemption story either. Wilco was not killed for betraying the Empire. He was killed for actually following the orders that the Empire had given him.

Clearly Wilco understood that to mean that his career track would be at risk (considering Rampart is an up-and-coming Imperial officer who has just begun to make a name for himself with a few high profile accomplishments, like implementing chain codes), not his life. And it's not in any way foolish to believe that your commanding officer would listen to reason and see that the rules and protocol must be upheld. Even a slightly more reasonable and less cutthroat man would not have resorted to assassinating a Captain just to keep one misstep under wraps. It wasn't self-righteousness that was Wilco's downfall, it was tragic naivety about Rampart's willingness to abuse his power and authority, and the lengths he would go to secure his position.

    It’s so great to have The Bad Batch back! It’d be very nice to get some animated Jango flashbacks. My favorite Star Wars character who deserves more content. Omega could resemble Jango’s sister Arla and Temuera’s late sister Taini, which would be really cool IMO. A brother/sister Fett duo is what I’m hoping for down the road. Omega can take up the Fett name and wear the original classic white Fett armor/helmet , which was an Easter Egg in Season 1 of The Bad Batch. It’s possible that Jango knew about Omega, but kept her with Nala Se because he didn’t want her following in the same dangerous path as he and Boba. It’d be poetic if Boba and Omega meet for the first time on Geonosis, where Jango was killed.

    I’m mixed on this episode, but it’s mostly positive. This episode didn’t feel like a premiere much, felt like something we’d see mid-season but that doesn’t mean it was bad. The episode had a pretty solid start and a great ending. I can definitely see it building up to something big with Rampart hiding TBB’s survival, looking very forward to seeing that.
    One thing I really enjoyed in these episodes is Echo and Tech. Season 1 was severely lacking in content for them, this premiere however is the opposite. I’m really happy they got more screen time and we got more insight on their characters.
    Overall I’d give this premiere a solid 8/10. It wasn’t anything special but it was still good. Hopefully we’ll see more Echo and Tech in the coming episodes.

    Theses first two episodes of the Bad Batch were amazing! I loved them both so much. It’s so great to finally be back watching new episodes of this show. And of course the animation is stunning and super beautiful, especially in the opening scene of that beach planet. The coloring used on the environments in these episodes are just so visually pleasing and amazing. And it was great to see the Bad Batch in action again, all the action scenes in these episodes were so awesome. I think that all of the character’s new designs look really cool too. Not only do they look like they are trying to blend in more, but the busted up, mix matched and weathered armor really makes it look like the Batch has been scrounging for awhile. I also loved that Echo is finally being more fleshed and given more character development unlike in the majority of season one. And it was really great to get to see Serenno again for the first time since Clone Wars Season 6. I also really liked the old man they met there, not only was he such a nice character but he was able to advance the plot and have such great interactions with Omega and Tech. And from just these first two episodes I am already loving the story that they are going with for the show, they are showing how even now the Batch’s views on certain things are still being changed and altered by the changing galaxy around them. And how there is starting to be a divide in their ideals, whereas Echo thinks that they should be doing more to stop the Empire and to help others, Hunter wants to lay low and stay off the Empire’s radar in order to get a future for the Batch. And I can’t really explain why, but I really liked Captain Wilco, especially when he stood up against Rampart for trying to silence him on his sighting of the Bad Batch. And it just made it even sadder when Rampart killed him, and we had to see as his body fell off into the forest below. Anyway, I cannot wait to see next week’s episode, I am very curious to see where the story will take the Bad Batch next.

    All this discussion of valuables has me thinking about Thrawn's collection. I wonder how much of it is monetarily valuable versus valuable in his eyes due to its cultural significance, like Hera's kalikori. I doubt Sabine's work is worth anything, but he has quite a Sabine Wren collection, probably more than anyone besides Sabine herself. Luthen's collection seems to be exclusively monetary worth. And that worth is based on rarity rather than cultural significance. Since the Empire is wiping out whole worlds, a piece of art from any dead civilization is probably worth a lot.
    Rampart's living on borrowed time. He might have just gotten fired if he were to report immediately to Tarkin, but since he's trying to cover up his failure, Tarkin is eventually going to find out and destroy him. But with Crosshair being still alive and now it's starting to be known that Clone Force 99 is still alive, I feel like that puts Crosshair in danger, as well, if he failed to mention they survived.
    I think what made Jango Fett the chosen clone template was his natural fighting talent, and that's why Boba and Omega, the unaltered clones are decent fighters. Omega wasn't a good shot when she first got the bow, so she had to learn. We are getting into a bit of a nature v. nurture discussion here. I think Jango Fett and all of his clones have a natural fighting talent, and then the clones were all raised as soldiers, and that's why they are so superior to pretty much any other army in Star Wars. But say a pacifist got their hands on a Jango clone baby and raised it totally away from war. I think it would still be athletic, a good pilot, maybe a good strategist, etc. but it probably wouldn't be a good fighter if it never got any training.

    So, a couple notes:
    1) Serrenian is basically serene which was the message to Omega to chose Happiness over riches, it wasn't about the toy as much as that the toy makes you happy. Though it seemed like the toy may have had a symbol in it that flashed by the upper left corner and I'm wondering if there isn't something hidden in it.
    2) Its hard to hear the name Wilco without hearing the phrase "roger wilco over and out" which I felt was the thematic pun that foreshadows Captain Wilco's fate.
    3) I think the archive will come in later. I have to wonder if the old man is Dooku's father or some other relative.

    • @onenerd9573
      @onenerd9573 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@onenerd9573 Ok. I wasn't sure how timeline worked with Dooku. Would the old man's age work as being a son or younger brother? I'm wondering if the archive might include something about heredity and therefore give the old man a claim to power or something like that. I can almost see a story arc along those lines where the toy comes back into play later if Omega has to convince him that the power and riches he is seeking aren't going to make him happy.

    @Blind Wave,
    1:29 Omega is a clone. Like her brother Boba, she's pure first generation clone, though altered to be female. Like Boba and her other brothers, she has inherent combat abilities. All she needs is training, which she's getting. She came across as a Jedi last season because she knew things about them they didn't know she knew--she's their little older sister. As Nala Se's assistant, she was part of the planning process that birthed Clone Force 99, she knows their specialties, quirks and whatnot because she was there when they were being programmed. As Nala Se's assistant, she was likely privy to Jango's training videos left behind for the Clones to study. While she may or may not have practiced that was shown, she had 13 years of watching her brothers going through the process over and over again.
    Omega's not Force sensitive, she just knows a lot about the past because she was there from the beginning. She's called Omega because she's the last of the naturally grown clones. Boba was the first, which is why the Kaminoans called him Alpha--Jango named him Boba. Boba spent 10 years with Jango on Kamino, so he got to learn first hand from his dad, as well as from others like Cad Bane. Now we get to see Omega learn how to be an elite fighter from Clone Force 99. Makes you wonder if we'll get to see Omega in a future live action project someday, coming face to face with Boba or Din Djarin.

Rampart fears Tarkin finding out about Clone Force 99 survival & now we'll never get that Captain Wilco redemption arc. They're thinking of Captain Howzer.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is the first time we've seen Tech get seriously injured besides when Wrecker had order 66 activated. I love how Star Wars has been leaning into the comical realism and not just super action fantasy: the clone just falling into the container when stunned, the pirates 2 intro beach chase, not done falling. It is cool to see more of the “enemy” background. My only complaint is that it was too short. These episodes felt like it should have been one big episode and then have a standard run time ep 2. Also I do hope that they flush out why omega is so important.. I’d like to see that she’s force sensitive, but where would she fit into the og trilogy/mando era?? Maybe a fallen order situation 👀

    This might just be hopeful completely out there theorizing but I think Serenno with the destroyed city and perhaps old clone wars equipment could be where some refugee Clones end up hiding out. I could see a situation where Rex has successfully freed hundreds of Clones and has been secretly moving them around the Galaxy (possibly not all in one place) then the Bad Batch return to Serenno after being contacted by the old guy and they work out a deal where the Refugee Clones work to rebuild the palace and the city then perhaps they eventually use it as a base of operations if a Clone Rebellion breaks out (which could be easily covered up in the empire as a Serenno revolt put down)

    It's Captain Howzer, clone with the best hair too😁😁😁😁😁 I have a feeling every character we've seen so far, in 1 or 2 episodes, will come back somehow in the current season or maybe a future season. Bcoz I noticed Romar's vest looks similar to what TBB are wearing in the trailer (where Rex asks for their assistance). I also don't think season 1 was the last time we'll see Fennec Shand or Cad Bane or even Roland Duran. Romar left an "imprint" on Tech & Omega, there's no way we're never seeing him again. Oh & Captain Wilco has the most interestingly ironic clone name (I'm an army brat & also did ROTC so I've heard their codes/abbreviations almost my entire life) ~ he followed & complied with all orders given to him until the end. And when he stood his ground & refused to falsify his report regarding Clone Force 99, he's killed without hesitation. By now Rampart must've murdered numerous other clones... I don't like crosshair so much. But now that rampart knows he lied about TBB deaths, I can only imagine what he might order Crosshair to do against his brothers. I think this season we'll get an actual Crosshair centric arc. I'm excited for it bcoz I really want to know how his story continues or ends. And I really think he deserves a redemption, especially after finding out he protected his brothers by lying (that they survived the destruction of Tipoca City).
