  • This year, 2022, has seen a lot of changes in my fish room ranging from the size and number of tanks to the type of fish I keep. It's been a year of tremendous growth and change. This was accompanied, out of necessity, by my trying out a variety of products. Some were good and some were not so good. From new fish foods, to lights, filters, air pumps and water test kits. In this video will I share with you the top 10 fish keeping products I came across in 2022 that stood out as exceptional and have passed the test of time. 10 fish keeping products I love!
What would you add to the list? What are your favorite products? Note them in the comments below because I'm pretty sure there's going to be a "Part 2" to this video where I will include some products that I no doubt forgot to mention, and I'll include some of your favorites as well.
Remember to always be learning and don't ever forget that you reading this right now - YOU ROCK!

I started using the Aqqa air pumps after a power outage that took out one of my tanks, they are hooked to the sponge filters I have in all of my aquariums.I also have the Hygger lights on all of my aquariums!! 14 so far!!

One thing I recently started using is the baby brine shrimp in a jar from ocean nutrition. They are hatched then bottled up. I can't set up a hatchery here without inviting disaster in the form of cats....but I have lots of tiny fish and sometimes fry that really appreciate them. The Kubotai rasbora just swarm it like sharks.

One I just discovered this year was the Odyssea CFS 500 and 700. Basically a FX4 / FX6 with a better design, higher flow rate, better customizability, holds more media , and costs less than 1/3 the price. Also, Xpertmatic's upgraded 35 watt model was a game changer for me. Running both of those filters on my 75 gallon Tanganyika tank in conjunction with a sponge filter run by a battery backed air pump. The results have been absolutely amazing! (Got a Hygger light on order for that tank as well thanks to your recommendation).

Great video Ben. For me fritzyme 7 and fritz turbostart 700 are game changers for new tanks. Also mentioned was the sub pump. I use it more than the python. Thank you.

Great video as usual Ben. I appreciate the humbleness and knowledge in all your stuff as well as the information. Could you do a video on how and why you got started? You seem like a normal guy who loves fish and I was just wondering what made you want to create your fish empire.

@@GenRN They come with the temp controller. So if the heater breaks in the "on" position, it automatically cuts off. I also love how easy they are to read. The temp is displayed in digital numbers and there's a red light that indicates when it's heating and a green light when it's at the proper temperature. It's easy to set the temp, too!

    ❤ the channel Ben.
I am not sure if you are able to get it in the U.S.
But I have discovered a food brand called Origin.
They have some amazing quality products that my fish are crazy for. I hope that they do expand across the pond to you. I know they would crash the fish food market
    over there.
NEVER a bad feeding with these. Great ingredients and nutrients in the food.
Check out their products for yourself. And No. I am not a promoter, just a humble fish guy who has struck food gold.

Agreed all great products Ben. Appreciate the product reviews and recommendations from other viewers. One I'd add is the new Hygger Smart Variable Frequency Titanium Heater. Just picked up a 500W model a few weeks ago. It is rated for 60 - 120 gallons. Currently I'm running in 75 gallon tank set at 77 degrees with room temp at 72. This thing will change wattage output anywhere from 50W to 500W based on tank temp drop. Obviously once the weather outside gets colder I would expect the wattage to go up. Nice energy saving heater with redundancy 😀 🤙

    • @BenOchart
      @BenOchart  ปีที่แล้ว +1

That’s a great innovation for a heater. Most heater are energy hogs. I like the variable option.

Ben, there is a NEW All black Xpertmatic filter. It also pulls completely from the bottom now. It’s really GREAT! I bought 2 and replaced both my old Xpertmatic like you have. Give it a shot! It’s also more powerful than the last version and they also redesigned the sponges. Amazon has it

    • @BenOchart
