    This was so interesting. During the time lapse, it appeared the painting was shrinking from the middle, and pulling the colors into the vortex. I was fascinated.
    Love this painting.

    I love that shape of cells, like beautifully colored shingles on a cottage. They’re pretty similar in shape but get gradually bigger and bigger, and what’s cool is with this kind, I can add depth to it by outlining the cells darker and blend making them look like rocks. But I’ve yet to achieve those cells myself - I will and I’m happy with my progress though. Your compositions are thought provoking, I love that.

    The turquoise that sunk to the bottom, if I remember right that paint is an opaque one yes? That’s probably part of why it sunk. The artist loft flow white also has a tendency to eat up certain colours when mixed with floetrol, so it’s kind of like a double strike against the turquoise. Haven’t tried a specific combination of brands/colours with your technique but I bet if you switched either the white or the turquoise you might get another result. This video was like candy for my 👀! I love the way the black and white mixed, I like those little fingers it created! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Thank you for making your videos 😊👋

    Dwight. Have been watching all of your videos and find your technique quite amazing ! Love how the paints interact with each other and your beautiful designs. I only have one question: sometimes you completely cover your canvas with a base coat and other times you do not; is there a reason why you change it up? If this is your craft that you do not wish to discuss I’ll understand.
    Thank you so much for sharing all your videos with us.

    • @dwightpours1261

      Good question and I don’t really have a good answer...sometimes I don’t want to over stretch so I will not cover my edges and let the puddle glide over the edges instead...if I cover my canvas then it can be over stretched when I tilt

    Between you and Sarah Taylor I am learning so much, on the thin paint art form! I've been experimenting on small canvases and had nice results, but...when I did a large canvas, as a gift to my youngest son, it cracked.

    One artist said it takes 3 weeks for hers to completely dry and you did one yesterday and you are hanging it on a wall. By the way love your paintings.

    • @emilyflotilla931
      @emilyflotilla931 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      About 3 weeks for the paint to cure fully. They may be dry, but the polymers and other components still need to fully cure before you put a barrier coat and varnish on it. And although this painting has no silicone, it's especially important to allow it to cure into canvas. I'm not the scientist on this, but I see it mentioned frequently in many other artists.

    • @dwightpours1261
      @dwightpours1261  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It moved for three possible reasons...too much paint left on canvas, the mix expands with satin enamel in it, or, which think is the actual culprit...the canvas sagged. I used this canvas on an other lbs and same thing happened, so I think it’s the canvas!
